I'm not sure if it's one of those delightful quirky differences between the UK and US but, speaking only for myself, I only ever knew these as 'squat-thrusts' and cannot remember the first time ever hearing the term 'burpee' which everyone uses nowadays. Thanks for the pro-tips on form... you're a big help, sir.
I just want to say thank you for making so many great videos. Your channel got me started on my calisthenics journey and it has been such a helpful resource in these first few weeks. I love your calm and encouraging attitude. It always gets me motivated to workout!
Exactly! So what I infer is, complete each movement full in a proper form regardless of the counts then slowly combine each "without losing the form". The best part I like with you is, the delivery of the precise speech. You are doing a good thing. Keep going. Hat's off! ❤
Thank you for making this video. I do the basic progression when it comes to Burpees. The kick out bothers my knees after several sets. I’m doing 30 minute EMOM with Burpees. 2 pump regular and 2 pump navy seals. Burpees and pull ups are the scariest exercises in the gym. I want to master those bodyweight exercises. Every Muscle Must Be Tight. Salute.
That sounds like a great workout! And I agree, pull ups and burpees are tough, but keep it up and enjoy the journey. You’ll be awesome at them sooner than you think 💪
I'm 57 and just adding burpees to get more full body stuff going . My biggest hold up is my hips don't want to open up at ALL but I'll try get that worked out . Been a lifelong issue.
Just when I thought I knew burpees I am watching this and wondering what I really do? Going to have to record myself for a form check. Thanks for the tips!!!
Great video! Excellent tips! Please do let know, how about adding push-up in the middle of burpee? Most of the people do this. Is that fine? Is that another variation of burpee?
And I thought a burpee automatically included bathe push-up… learning variations… starting to like them more…just started a fitness encouragement channel, I have a few shorts on burpees!!!
Yeah, absolutely. You can add a push up, mountain climbers, clapping push up… whatever you want. This video might give you some ideas: ua-cam.com/video/mUYJqe_sJFE/v-deo.html
Are those pretty plants in your home!!!??? So off topic.. but it looks nice. Thx for tips….I was wondering why when I see some prison style burpees the slow dow a lot and it looks like a rock at the bottom but that’s the slow squat…
i appreciate the tips. just started doing burpees and I seem to be having trouble kicking out. do you think i need to work on my core or other parts of my lower legs?
Work on these two things, my friend: deep squat mobility and in outs (core exercise): ua-cam.com/video/qxCCTimatsM/v-deo.html As you improve at both of those, you’ll naturally find it much easier to kick out at the bottom of a squat thrust / burpee.
@@MinusTheGym an update, you were right, my issue is i can't deep squad. i am working on getting my legs to get used to doing deep squats first. my ankles need get loosed up. i am not going to do the burpees until i have the deep squat squat fixed first.
Great video. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and your interest in teaching us techniques so relevant as burpees. Yes, please keep digging into teaching us basic compounded movements. Thanks again 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Never really thought about the reason I jump down and up is because I don’t do the squat portion well. I’m going to go to your basics video and go back to the Step outs
Just go super super slow, step by step if you have to, just like he does half way thru the video, burpees connects the dots and put it all together!! At least for me they do
Thanks, l am looking at many videos about burpees because there are different opinions and variations ans l want to start in a way that are easy but correct for me.
Hands outside the knees have been causing me to hinge my back which means lower back pain. Great video to highlight these issues. Im going to slow down and focus on the squat. Thanks
Is the flexion/rounding of lumbar spine on the lower position an issue for those with back problems? As someone with a history of herniated discs and a love for burpees I've held back on doing them.
I went from hating burpees and sucking at them to loving them. Thanks for the video!

I always thought a burpee included a proper-form push-up.
There are many different types of Burpees.
Same
yeah these look like "up downs"
I appreciate this advice, thank you again.
Omg this makes things so much easier!!!!!!! It was hurting my back so I knew i was doing something wrong! Thanks for this video!
thank you. burpees were one of my favorites
Oops. I've always made these a bit messy I learned now. Thanks for improving me on this wonderful exercise Ryan.
Glad I could help!

Ah some much thanks! I was fn up my shoulders and with the downward squat i solved it!
Super Helpful. Thanks for demo-ing all forms!
When I was taught the burpee this is what I learned. I see people diving into the push up. Kissing that work of squatting down and then kicking out
Johnny Sins?
Great. Love this advice.
Please could you do a video on the best Calisthenics routine for catch wrestling.
Thanks.

Thanks .. this helped a lot .
Good instructional video, though a burpee is more than a squat thrust...it adds a pushup and a squat jump.
Happy Burpee to you!
Sir please could you make a video on your workout routine because your physique is so good without the gym and THANKS for correcting my burpee form 👍👍
Thanks! Lately I’ve been doing a push/pull/legs routine that’s modified to 5 days per week. I’ll make a video about it soon.
@@MinusTheGym thanks for your reply and sir we waiting for it...
@@MinusTheGym looking forward to it!
Is it important to have the hands and feet flat when squating down
The keyword was SQUATthrush !
Is this for fat loss?
Good video!
Is it beneficial to do a push up whilst in the plank position?
Yeah, absolutely. You can add a push up, mountain climbers, clapping push up… whatever you want. This video might give you some ideas:

Burpees is very right workout
Isnt that where Hampton from Hybrid Calishtenics lives too
you should drop the jump, its pointless unless you are going to do explosive power

I can't be the first one to make the Johnny sins joke right ...?
Are you still caffeine free?!
What's up with the devilish eyes? :) Contacts?
No, it’s actually the ring light I use. It casts a circular reflection in my eyes and looks kinda creepy lol
Have you apologised for shilling the vaccines yet?
Balcony burpees like Iron wolf.
That dude’s a beast!

nice topic, gotta change em up to get what you don't have. sprawl or squat with burpees, just don't be that guy who's half-assing his reps.
Very helpful and informative video.
Thank you for sharing and this will help me know, by doing this the right way 😊 👍🏽
Awesome Video friend :)
The original burpee didnt have the jump up
Now renamed the ‘Good Vibes Burpee’ 🙏
thank you for these tips! its a great help, love your channel I dont have much money for a gym membership or equipment so this really helps me
