Yes, Colin is fantastic. But what I admire about him is that he is still approachable after all these years of great success and achievements. His persona is everything that you can admire in a man. Not a lot of people in the world these days have such qualities.

1:09 I couldn't agree more with Colin Firth on this one. The words we choose are absolutely vital and indeed informs our body. I‘m German and English is my second language. I appreciate it so much when someone carefully picks words and uses unusual combinations. It’s almost poetic how Colin Firth speaks. There are others like Nigella Lawson and Benedict Cumberbatch that use English in a particular way that is like nectar to my ears and heart. It’s the effort they put in. It’s like a word bouquet where they carefully pick words like flowers. Just magnificent.
One of my favorite actors of this generation. I fell in love with him as Mr Darcy, and have not been out of love with him since. I love you Colin firth, you are forever my Mr Darcy!

I love Colin Firth. He is a magnificent actor. Pride and Prejudice is my favorite novel. I write P & P variations. I cannot think of anyone who could be a better Darcy. He was also magnificent as George VI in The King's Speech and fun as Mark Darcy.

Colin Furth is such a brilliant actor! The phone scene was incredible. He communicated so much with virtually no words.

Matthew was awesome and also handsome. I've watched that movie one hundred times. I've yet to see the BBC version. My terrible loss, I know, but my library doesn't have it and it's not available on Amazon.

Impossible to still the heart. Mr Darcy is the HOTTEST man who ever existed. The clothes, the body, the face, the long brooding stares. The heart skips a beat, the blood pressure rises, need I say more....

They are permanently split. She had an affair and lied about it, telling the police that her lover was actually stalking her(BIG LIE). Colin was shattered.

@@ds1868 he articulates every word and speaks very clearly. Most British don’t. They have many , many different accents. We had a Scottish tour guide on expensive trip with horrible accent. We did not get 50% of his talking.

What a Handsome great actor, who also is very caring in reality . I first watched Colin in a movie named Valmont . I just loved that movie after vwst hing him in Valmont I sought out watching all of his movies including Mr Darcy ,which was remarkable.
The wet shirt doesn’t have to be transparent, the chest doesn’t have to be chiseled, it’s called imagination and wishful thinking.
It´s the wrong scene. It was wet+transparent, when darcy came first out of the woods. It wasn´t later because it had dried
Colin Firth is certainly handsome, but I didn't think there was anything all that special about the swimming scene until I found out about all the fuss. Most people's fantasies about actors are much better than the reality would be, although Mr. Firth doesn't seem like a very nice man.

Every single interview he does proves him to be a genuinely Nice man who is NOT Ego driven and full of himself, despite all of the adulation. He is genuinely, truly self-deprecating~ and hugely talented.
Simply a BRITISH actor. They are uncomparable and unique. And I am NOT British. But is has to be said: They are the best, both males and females.

They don’t use the right wet shirt scene. The best is when he is walking away from the camera down the hill covered in yellow wild flowers, towards the lake with the house in the background. That is where the shirt is the most transparent and he really looks to have broad shoulders chiseled down to tight waiste and hips. Just a magnificent shot.

King George was much shorter and much skinnier than Colin Firth, and that worried me for the first 20 mins of The King's Speech. After that his acting overcame any doubts.
Colin Firth really seems such a nice, modest, and unassuming sort. Totally unlike Darcy.

He had problems with his voice after stammering in The King's Speech, many months afterwards, you can hear in the interviews he gave after The King's Speech was released. Then his voice went back to normal. :)

Wonderful actor. I have seen most of his movies and I have 3 or 4 favorites. To me Pride and Prejudice is the #1. I love period pieces, he is my favorite actor and seems such a lovely man. It all works together for me. There was so much to adore in P&P but the pond scene eluded me. The proposal scene was done beautifully, so emotional. It’s very well done and many actors I really like.

Do we truly believe ANY thing that is written about ANY Celeb or Actor? It is all an opinion of some journalist and often, as proved by many, they write lies! She may have and she may have not! Do we truly know?
I think a lot has to do with the way she did it. The affair was over a long time and was planned shamelessly. I can’t even imagine how he felt. I’m not passing judgement on either one, I just think it would have been painful to go through and then to have it put out in the public eye on top of that. After they parted ways, they did reconcile for a period of time but it didn’t work out. He started another relationship last year, they look happy.
