So I had a realization: this could be a standard issue Heavy support blaster. Just the mag kit and the stock adapter, no mods or anything, and it would be an amazing hordebuster.
@@CaptainXavier That’s what I commented about. The first few darts are great, but not the rest. However, the hopper can work very consistently if you keep it consistently fed and are used to using the blaster. I personally have come to use this blaster quite frequently and it’s been very reliable for me.
Picked up this kit it's for sure a dart hose but that's all no way to burst fire or single fire it's mag dump or nothing.also the top of the mag rubs on the gear beside the Pusher wheel. Easy fix just grind away small amount of plastic. I just used 4 lmr and two dummy batteries and it puts a smile on my face every time I dump it.👍
cant wait to set this thing up as a mounted turret on the field. Id love to see some range tests of this thing with a 2s Lipo and a stock cage and wheel setup specifically. I think this would be a great scenario blaster with a simple rewire, no other work needed.
The first thing I did after getting a Matrixfire was print the mag adapter. I love modular, reversible mods! However the rate of fire from a magazine is so insane that the stock motors get bogged down pretty quickly, and sometimes you get as many as 5 darts on one quick trigger press. A bit less fire control for my liking. Very interested to see what your final mod looks like, as I'm considering bringing mine to 2S for HVZ!
With stock motors and batteries? Yeah, way too little torque to keep up with the rate of fire. I am looking forward to swapping the motors to something with a bit more torque and seeing what it can really do. Adding a PWM on the pusher would allow you to lower the ROF for more control or crank it up to dart hose.
Dude I've just been duct taping delta trooper stocks to it for all these months, finally. As someone who is a huge fan of the dart hopper platforms I'm very excited to see if I can get my hands on this.
I think it’s cool someone did this. I was going to design one myself because ever since I saw the matrix fire I wanted it to be mag fed. Before going through all of that design work, however, I decided to put some tape over the lock which requires a hopper to be inserted. Once I did that, I was able to hold up a magazine, and when I tested it, it shot off 18 darts in about one second. I remember thinking it would be nice sometimes, but for most gameplay it would be completely impractical. I do still love my matrix fire! I feel like it’s the best SAW style blaster we’ve ever seen, being a more traditional rifle than most but with better performance and higher rof than the rapidstrike or most other options. Now we just need a magazine fed version from dart zone with an AF stock attachment point like the villainator and a slower feed motor to account for the consistency of the magazine.
While I won't be rewiring for lipo, holy elite darts that made it quieter! The hopper combined with it is noisier than the train intrusions. Definitely take a look at that in the future if I use it more, though I do like my Destructors better.
I absolutely love this, but i kinda wish it was side loading to give me a slight mg42 vibe while I’m reloading. That might be logistically impossible I don’t know, I don’t have a matrixfire currently but this is making me far more interested in getting one. ❤️
@@CaptainXavier Oh interesting 🤔 good to know! What a cool drop in mod! Really want a matrixfire now. Thanks for making a video about this. Good content 👍
While cool, I feel like it defeats the point of the matrix fire making it mag fed. Other than that absolutely amazing addition that completely transform this blaster into a mag fed beast with minimal mods
Wheel is too small unfortunately, there just isn’t enough throw on it to get the darts to the flywheels. Building one from the ground up with this type of feed system should be possible though
Does it work with half darts? I would assume no with Worker Talons, but I wonder if Katanas or Equalizers or Thahnlons would work. I would be so happy if it did because my squad and I will be using mostly half lengths and I would really love a cheap, quick, and easy full auto pistol as something that all of us could have eventually
Unfortunately no, that wheel just doesn’t have enough throw to get the darts to the flywheels no matter where you position the mag. If you go from the ground up it could work though, just not with the Matrixfire
@@ryanassini4706 I wonder if it would work to double-feed a full-length dart mag with half-length darts? Maybe it would grip on the rear dart and push them both through?
@@jeffreycarman2185 it might get one dart out, but then the first dart pushed forward would be in front of the wheel and there’s no way for the magazine to advance after that
I will say the hopper really rewards you for learning to use it. When I first got it, I couldn’t use it reliably. Nowadays? I’d take it into hvz, easily.
Unrelated question: What is the highest ROF full auto stock nerf blaster? I just want to find something that goes fast out of the box, and I can't find a good answer online. As of now I've heard the Turbine is pretty fast though.
I'm not into nerfing anymore but I went to a Toys R Us and found Dart Zone and Dart Zone Pro blasters. Really surprising when the only brands here in the Philippines are Nerf, X Shot and Air Warriors
The increased rate of fire (at least double) and the ability to reload from mags has advantages. But it depends on what you are after. If rate of fire and quick reloads are not the traits you value then they mean nothing.
@@CaptainXavier Honestly the only reason say that is from the risk of burning through your ammo supply so quickly as most people would. But with the ability to switch between the two systems particularly on the fly this could be godly against a zombie mass at any range thanks mainly to how easy it is to refill the hoper and how quick you can swap mags.
@@ned418 all you need to do to avoid wasting ammo is add a PWM to the pusher circuit. Then you can adjust the ROF to something reasonable for single Zeds but crank it up when you want to mag dump.
Well that is absolutely brilliant. Makes me happy to see more mods for adventure force blasters, love the look of the matrix fire.
The fact that it uses the slots for the hopper is absolutely GENIUS. and the print quality (color differences aside) is very high quality, too!
Holy moly it's such a clean installation. I was on the fence about a matrixfire before but this is a super attractive 2s build
Not only is this amazing, but it’s so convenient! I haven’t heard of anything dropping that fast since Sir Duncan on the business end of a pike!
Things like this are what make planning for Endwar so hard! I don’t need this, but I NEED this
So I had a realization: this could be a standard issue Heavy support blaster. Just the mag kit and the stock adapter, no mods or anything, and it would be an amazing hordebuster.
Sadly no. Without a battery mod the stock motors on AAs cannot keep up with the rate of fire and the FPS drops like a rock.

thanks a lot Captain
Wow, this really makes me want to get a matrixfire just to install CakesCreativeCustom kit! This looks entirely too much fun !
“Wow! As drop in kits go this is the droopiest-in kit I’ve ever dropped in!” Very quotable quip sir! Bangarang!
I have the magazine mod and I LOVE IT! The rate of fire is ridiculous so watch your trigger fingers. You will dump the mag without realizing it.
Already added to my shopping cart
Wow what a coincidence I just rewired mine and was planning to design my own mag well, and there's already an existing one!

It absolutely would not work. It uses a feed wheel on the top of the magwell (rather than a pusher) so a side fed mag would simply not work.

Well done Captain! Any way we could get a mod video from you or a view of the internals post rewire?? Thank you this kit is just awesome!!
Dang this kit could be a good rapidstrike replacement for those who can't get one.
This made the Matrix fire into essentially a Nerf Stoner 63 machine gun
Amazing definitely getting one
If I ever get the time or space to mod a matrix fire this will be my primary
The mag-dump had me laughing so hard I got a bit teary eyed. That was great!
Magnificent work of loot
that fire rate though!!! wow!
I see some great mod potential for that mag cover
Any ideas? I’m always open to suggestions

Captain, what PWM do you recommend? I know you said it wasn't necessary, but I think having adjustable rate of fire would still be neat!
The one I used was from OutOfDarts but last time I checked he no longer has them. So I no longer have a recommendation.
Jeez my stock attachment area is a pain to get on, I may have to disassemble more than you did
That's so awesome!
Looks like something straight out of Borderlands

what was the orange bit you had on the table but seemed not to use
A different stock option. One that fits the Adventure Force stocks.
Omg its so awesome
I think this might be my next build
Wait, so you can effortlessly swap between hopper and magazine fed?
That is something special alright.
hay good news i just got a 3d printer ya me any suggestions as in what to make first
Where do ij get files for the mag adapter?
I am starting to wonder why I bother saying "links are in the video description" since no one bothers to listen... ;P
Well... I need one now
With that level of interchangeably is a kit or an accessory?
Notice in the title I refer to it as an "Adapter". ;)
Could this work with The Adventure Force Sportsman? It’s basically a pump action, springer version of the Matrixfire.
Only if the geometry on both blasters is identical. Which I pretty sure itnis not.
How was the stock rate of fire with the mag well?
About the same. Maybe even a little more. Stock voltage was 9v. 2s is closer to 8.

They should shove that trigger group in a Spectrum or something.

that rate of fire... Jesus
... The rate of fire...

Yes

rapidstrike who?? this thing shoots ropes of darts..
It is possible to get a Rapidstrike to have a higher rate of fire than this...but not with a simple rewire. :D
Even though the Pew Pew exists, I would say make it half dart only and minimize it so you have a nerf TEC-9
It would take a lot of work to make that pusher feed half darts. It is probably possible but probably not worth the effort.
