    Hey Kenny! I followed your kefir smoothie recipe and tried the basic principles of getting things right (no tap water, have pre+pro biotic every meal, exercise) and pray to the Lord Jesus the King of Kings and Lord of Lords since 2020 and I’m completely healed! Didn’t take too long! Hallelujah. I’ve got my family and friends making the smoothie now!

    Hey, Kenny! Greetings from Denmark. I was diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis in the fall of 2020. And after almost one year of medical treatment(Prednisone, Infliximap, and Vedolizumap) I was left hopeless. Nothing worked. Just as I was the most hopeless my girlfriend found your channel, and though at the time it seemed very desperate to turn to UA-cam for help, I felt, that this was my last chance before yet again changing to harsher drug alternatives, and ultimately being operated - a very dark prospect. This was around summertime 2021. My diet the first 2 weeks or so relied primarily on a smoothie with a foundation of kefir/blueberry for breakfast, and eating lean meats with vegetable for dinner - implementing intermittent fasting as well. And the good results showed very fast. After the first 2 weeks I saw great improvements in my condition, my stool was getting firmer and my stomach started to calm. After a month my condition got even better and i started to go down on prednisone and actually opted out of my Vedolizumap treatment plan. Eventhough the doctors adviced against it. It was not because I though it wise, but I just had to know if your diet truly was the thing curing me of my ailment. I was off all medication around end of July 2021 and since then I have been following the ideas from your videos: Optimse your gut microbiome by exercise, eating probiotic and prebiotic as well as anti-inflammatory. And I am now almost fully healed, I have been off medication for 1 year now and can still get minor flares when I succumb to the urge to inflammatory food and beverages(mostly sugary stuff eg. alcohol, fastfood etc.). I am now striving for your definition of fully healed and I am getting there slowly but steady with the help of your principles.
    Long story short! I want to thank you Kenny! Thank you for all you have done for me and my family! Thank you from the bottom of my heart for being awesome and sharing this with the world. I have - as many others - started to spread the message whenever I can, about your channel and the wonders of kefir and blueberries :) All the best to you and your family.

      @@cghrios783 Hi! thank you very much. I hope that i can help you, but the journey to 100% cured is by no means easy and I am still struggling against the temptations of carbohydrates and bad fats. I remain without medication and can control my condition.
      I would recommend staying clear of white carbohydrates for atleast 2 months. no bread, pasta, potato, rice, etc. And if you have to eat it then go for rice.
      Try and rely heavily on kefir, avocado, banana and blueberry shakes for breakfeast and lunch. And eat Chicken or fish( i would avoid both cow and porks meat) accompanied by steamed and baked vegetables that are easy to digest(root vegetable are generally easy to digest when cooked for long durations).
      And you should not eat any kinds of fast food, sweets, processed foods etc. And no alcohol and smoking. And no soft drinks!
      I use Lactocare Advanced as a probiotic supplement besides kefir. and take 2 pills two times a day when i have a flare.
      Try and keep this routine up for as long as you can. I am cheering for you!

    Hey Kenny, I’ve had UC for 20 years now and have tried almost everything. I eat a healthy diet, no gluten/dairy, healthy oils, lots of veges and things have improved overall but I still have flare ups that can be severe and debilitating.
    I just started having cold pressed cabbage juice as per your recommendation a few days ago and, while I’m only a few days in, the changes seem significant! I’m pretty optimistic. Less blood, less bile/mucus, healthier colour, it sinks in the bowl, better formation, less discomfort. Would you say cabbage juice is basically the best thing you can consume if your gut is in terrible shape? It feels like a miracle cure to me!
    Edit: I forgot to mention I live in AUS where it is illegal to sell unpasteurised milk. Good kefir is hard to get :/

    • @team_honnas
      @team_honnas  2 роки тому +3

      So glad you're seeing improvement! Cabbage juice got me out of a really bad flare in 2015 and is what really got me started on this whole path. I think it's kind of hard to quantify a single best thing to consume for gut health. There are so many great things that provide unique benefits. I think there is a time and place for cabbage juice, kefir, bone broth, yogurt, etc. and that they can all help to improve the gut. As for the kefir, it can be made from pasteurized milk. I think the fermentation process is the most important part and that kefir made from pasteurized milk is a great alternative. As long as you don't have sensitivity or allergy to lactose/dairy, obviously. I would just try to get the highest quality milk available. I've really been loving this brand of kefir that is sold at Cole's here in Brisbane: www.tableofplenty.com.au/product-category/kefir/.

      did you check your Vitamin D levels? I have UC in remission now, the healing factor in my opinion was taking Vitamin D supplements. I did not take milk kefir or smoothies because they made the symptoms worse in my case. I just ate fermented vegetables to improve the microbiom.
      Vitamin D is essential to the immune system and that is why it is so important in case of an immune system disease like UC.

    Hey Kenny
    I am truly inspired by you resilience and intuition.
    I was been diagnosed of mild ulcerative colitis one week ago.
    The doctor prescribed to me 3 months of Pentasa suppository(5 ASA) because of my fecal calprotectin level above 1000 ug/g signaling a high level of inflammation.
    I am experimenting muscle and joint pain after only 2 days of treatment
    Have you ever started a treatment or did you just change your alimentation?I am curious about that
    Cheers

    Hi Kenny,
    I have just been diagnosed with UC and I am glad that from the very first moments of my illness I have come across the results of your work - I believe that this will save me the many years of struggle that you and many others went through before you managed to overcome the disease.
    What do you think about coconut oil? I see extremely different opinions about its antibacterial properties: some say it supports the proper balance of the microbiome, others say it destroys it. I must admit that its positive effect on testosterone and several other properties discourage me from giving it up.
    Greetings and God bless you for the hope you are pouring into the hearts of those suffering from UC.

    Watching this on my last day of my 9 day vacation to Vegas. Let’s just say I went insane with food. Ive been on remission since New Years 2022 and Totally let go of protocol since getting to Vegas. This morning I saw a tiny amount of blood in stool, like a clot the size of a pea and now I’m freaked out. Hoping to get back on track immediately when I get home.

    • @team_honnas
      @team_honnas  2 роки тому +1

      Not at this point. I don’t think it should be eaten on a daily basis, but when traveling I don’t think it’s really a problem. Good to avoid if you’re sensitive to it and in the early stages of improving gut health. But my main line of thinking is to follow the 80-20 rule on a daily basis so that I have room to eat things like gluten with that 20%.

      @@team_honnas What are your thoughts on the carnivore diet? It seems that fiber works for some to heal but others have to eliminate it to heal. I don't think it can be denied that animal foods are the most nutritious and bioavailable, plus on carnivore you are eliminating any potential trigger foods. Also, I've watched a few videos of carnivores doing microbiome testing and being in the 90th percentile so that's pretty interesting as well.

    Hey and a big thank you from Paris for what you do, it gives a lot of hope! I tried your protocol and it has really helped a lot but I could not drink kefir nor cabbage juice and did not achieve remission. I ate gluten and as diary sometimes lactose free milk in my coffee for the pleasuee.
    Now they will put me on biologics and I am so scared that it’s mentally crippling. I do not have the courage to not accept the treatment since inflammation is high. I do not know how to continue the diet if I am’on biologics I feel that I lost the battle in front of meds. What do you recommend in order to continue your regime znd keep the faith? What is your take on the consumption of spices

    • @team_honnas
      @team_honnas  2 роки тому +1

      I think it's mainly about tolerability, personally. When I was sick, if I wasn't in a flare I found I was able to tolerate spices pretty well. But if I was flaring badly I wouldn't touch them- partly because I felt so bad I was eating the blandest foods anyway. So I think it kind of depends on tolerability and how active symptoms are.

      I took both of those actually at different points in the process, but I didn't really stick with either one for more than a few months at a time. I think supplements can be helpful, but what I found to be the most helpful were probiotic foods, prebiotic foods, clean water, and exercise.
