The title should have been "One Spock, Two Spock: Big Spock, Li'l Spock."

A giant eugenicist who choses to wear a very short toga while interacting with small people seems sus.

Your last few episodes have taught me that Kirk had kind of a habit of just...not resolving problems beyond the immediately safety of his crew. "Okay gang, we got Spock's brain back and had a good laugh, let's mosey." "Wait a second, without his brain to run our computer, our whole civilization will collapse and die!" "Oh yeah, that's a real problem! For you. Bye!"

    "Code of Honor"

"where they're chased by more of those corkscrew, MorningStar Farms pterodactyls"

Choosing "Shades of Gray" for the TNG episode would have continued the "first officer's brain" theme.

"...talking to your salad," is killing me. 😆After reading about what the various writers went through with GR over the course of the Original Series in books like These Are The Voyages, I have absolutely no trouble believing Koenig's account of the experience. He put experienced and renowned writers through the whole "How's about an unpaid ninth draft?" ordeal. This being Koenig's first outing, he didn't have a chance of getting out of the situation without three ulcers and entire swaths of hair falling out.

I like to imagine that when Big Spock was talking to Uhura we don't see the part of the conversation where Uhura is like "ow, Spock, why are you so loud? I had to take out my ear thingy."

  • @ByrdieFae

The thought of Spock going "Hi, Uhura. It's me, Spock. What's up?" is hysterical. I should not have watched this in the doctor's waiting room. 😂😂😂

Let's not forget: Spock Two is still alive at the end of this episode! I'm going to ask what we're all thinking: what happened when Spokc Two inevitably underwent pon farr??? How's that for a mental image

The skeleton of Giant Spock made its way to "Lower Decks".

    Spock 2: Spock Harder

One thing I noticed about The Animated Series is that it has a lot of sequels.

  • @DoctorBabylon

I look forward to you talking about Code of Honor. I was worried you were going to skip over it considering you've talked about this episode before in "Is Star Trek less progressive than you think?".

  • @gothatfunk

I look forward to your Worst Ever Voyager episode. No shortage of candidates.

  • @ShadSterling

Well now I want to see Giant Spock make an appearance in Discovery

I’ve always gotten the impression that “you’re the most scrutable man I know,” is a comment that Koenig lifted directly from conversations he and George Takei had on the set of the original series. I've never heard any anecdotes to support or refute this opinion, but I can definitely envision the line originally being delivered in response to George Takei complaining about how many acting opportunities for Asian American actors rely on stereotypes.

    Buzz Lightyear: "Spocks... Spocks everywhere."
