Let's hear your thoughts on my Chasing Hardware series this past year! Comment below what improvements and/or additions I should make for 2023 Like this video? Here's another tournament episode: ua-cam.com/video/c-gaJ0GJaBo/v-deo.html
Bailey. I’ve been grinding this series. I’m having so much fun. If I’m being honest your casting is what keeps me coming back. It’s so impressive watching you go from a bomb forehand cast, to a precise short flip, to a backhand wrist shot that goes for 35 ft and never got 3 feet off the ground, to a left handed cast, hitting your target with flawless precision each time in consecutive casts. I’ll have to practice every day for 15 years before I could come close to that stuff. So glad I have so many more episodes to grind.
Time and repetition, man. Also - I played hockey and lacrosse growing up, now I don’t think I’m very good but I think that helps with the hand eye coordination 😅
I loved your series this season. And I greatly appreciate your attitude and professionalism on and off the water. Caddo can humble the best angler especially this time of year. Keep your head up and kick ass in 2023! See you out there!
I fished my first tournament at Nockamixon in 22. You won there with no practice “I saw the fish were scattered so I just started flipping lilies.” You made an impression and confirmed what I knew I should’ve stayed with that day. The wind had me totally off what I thought would be a good offshore bite and I found some fish in about 25 feet but couldn’t stay on them. I don’t have spot lock and I caught one and got blown off the spot and a Jon-boat came in and took it. Spent the rest of the day hunting lilies in calmer water. You have what it takes to be successful just keep looking forward and learn from the past.
I enjoyed this series of videos. You have a good format and telling how you're actually feeling and the struggles you go through helps everyone relate. Tough way to end the season but you learned from it and that's a big one. Good luck next year. If you're doing Caddo in the spring maybe, I'll see you on the water.
I appreciate that a lot! I have a lot of passion in making these videos so it’s super cool to me that you like em! I’m hoping to make it back down for sure
MUCH RESPECT...as a content creator myself, it's tough to make these edits when I don't have an ideal finish. But it's worth it when you look back at it! Especially when you finish 1st in the future!
I have watched all your vids over the past year and let me tell you I have seen the work that you have put in and the drive and love for the sport and you do belong and really appreciate all the tips and tricks that you have shown and really appreciate the fact that you uploaded this video and showed me/use that sticks can struggle too sometimes. Can't wait too see the hurting you put on them in 2023
There are no failures, there are only "Learning moments!" Don't beat yourself up young fellow. The main thing you experienced was loss of focus. I don't mean any insult. I coached Archery for a number of years, including two of my own children. I saw your body language and I knew you were feeling badly. Sometimes when my youngsters were off kilter, I would get them to stop, put their bows down and get a drink and relax for a bit. Going out on the water would work. Starting over from fresh would have been perfect. Just fish for yourself and end on a high note, even for yourself. So don't beat yourself up any longer and fish for you. You are good at it!
I have to say this, I am from Oklahoma Originally, I have only fished a couple of tournaments almost 10 years ago now. I now live in East Texas, so this lake, is only 40 minutes from my little house. I have been on the lake a couple of times now, taking only my camera gear with me. I am looking forward to getting the kayak out on this lake and trying to learn some of it. I know this lake is so unique in so many ways, from it being a natural lake, as well as a river essentially and pretty shallow for the most part. I can see yall are out on the bigger water. Did yall launch from Mooringsport area in LA, I have rode my motorcycle over there and seen that side of the lake from the bank. I also want to say, congrats on your giving up a rid for the gentleman who's rod broke, that says a lot to me about the type of person you are, so kudos to you brother. Buffalo, long ways sir. I am glad you were able to have this opportunity to fish this tournament. I hope to at least show up sometime and see you guys fishing this tournament. Keep up the fun videos, new sub here. I appreciate what you are sharing with your channel from showing us day one, what you are planning to use to the mindset, what you are thinking and etc. Keep up the fun videos, I agree, we all learn from our mistakes and the mistakes with big steaks teach us more and are more memorable. I get the fun fishing statement. It is funny you would say fishing it way too fast, My dad and I used to do a lot of fishing and to this day, I will hear him telling me, son, you need to slow way down, the fish have to be able to catch up with your lure. hahahah, Fun thoughts, and I normally will relax and start fishing slower and will be able to hook up with something then. Do you have to qualify for this tournament, I am sorry if this is a dumb question, I dont know anything about this series, trying to learn some more about it. Again, thanks for the video and know you got a new sub, best of luck this next season. Dale
I appreciate the comment! And yes you have to qualify. Only top 50 on the Hobie BOS national trail qualify. Keep on fishing, man! Hope to chat with you again soon👊🏻
Congrats on a great season !!!……I’m sorry if you have been asked this before !……… Who makes those pigtails that are attached to your battery please and thank you ?!?!
The fact you can see what you did already this soon after the tournament means your doing things right. Hard pill to swallow and worst place to do it but keep it up! Your inspiring a lot of people and teaching so many of us so much! Congrats on a great year still! Some big fish and nice wins this year!
Man. Thank you, Brandon! That’s the whole goal with this channel. It’s definitely a tough pill but knowing you guys are learning from it too makes all the difference for me.
Congrats on a great year didn’t end like u wanted that’s how it is sometimes. It was fun following u this year great content always 2023 better watch out
Bro I can completely relate!! This year I fished as a co for the pa bass federation and had a fantastic year with 2 wins a 2nd and a 2nd in Mr bass. I then fished the pa state championship on onieda that I won!! Then I went to the national semi finals on Erie and blanked day 1 and caught 1 bass day 2!!🤦♂️ it was such a shitty feeling!! I was feeling probably alot like you are!! We had epic seasons and nothing can take that from us!! Hopefully both of us smash next season!!👊
Keep your head up man everybody has bad days!! I’ve just got into the kayak tournament fishing this year I wish I would’ve got into it earlier but that’s life I hope to do half as good as you’ve done so far in your career cause what I’ve watch your a hell of an angler!! You’ll comeback stronger!! Love your videos you seem like a good dude man!! Keep up the hard work!!
I’m conflicted watching this. You struggled and spun out. It has happened to all of us. I have enjoyed watching and keeping up with your season. I’ve learned from watching you. Now I’m going to be honest. I feel like you quit. I was disappointed to see it. All the stuff about ethics and respect are admirable in most cases, but listening to you explain I really feel like you made this your excuse to go home. People probably won’t say what I am but that how most people are likely going to see it. Your competitors were likely more surprised you left than that you stayed. I feel like you could have fished away from people if you were concerned about effecting others results. In the end we all have to make decisions and live with those decisions. I will continue to watch you and support your channel. I hope you are back ready to chase them next year.
No offense taken with that, man. I definitely feel a sense of it myself and you’re not entirely wrong. But to me, I made the right decision not being on tournament waters on Day 3 when I had zero chance of achieving anything. Even the biggest bag of the tournament wouldn’t have landed me in the top 10. I was in a bad place mentally after day 2 and from there made the decision to go home mostly due to that, in addition to not getting in the way of competitors. These fish were in highly specific areas, not spread out in a way for me to catch em and not affect someone and the lake itself really isn’t that big. So did I quit? Yes. Am I conflicted with it? To an extent but I still stand by the decision I made from a moral and ethical standpoint. I really respect you calling that out and greatly appreciate your support! Hoping to come back stronger and better next year.
@@BEtheFish I get it and I’ve been there before, but just in a different sport. You’re right in that the biggest bag of the tournament would have won it, but it would have made a difference. Imagine the difference mentally having a good final day would have been for you mentally. You’re a great fisherman and enjoyable to listen to and watch. I’d be willing to bet your competitors and friends surprised you didn’t finish it out. You made the choice you made and if you’re good with it that’s all that matters I guess. I will say something else. I am truly impressed how several of you guys acted and even helped each other. The camaraderie displayed and respect for each other was cool to see.
@@Matthoodadventures you make great points, man. Definitely see where you're coming from. I did not show it in this video but I got home and left the cameras at home and hit a local lake and smacked em to get my mind back (a little bit haha). Was a decision I made and I am good with it. Being around the winners and knowing them and hearing what they did, I know exactly where I went wrong and the adjustments I should have made. I learned a lot and in my mind, that is worth it. And yeah, man the kayak scene isn't cutthroat, everyone is in it together.
I had zero possible chance of cashing a check and certainly impossible to win after my poor performance on two days. If I went back out on Day 3, the ONLY thing I am doing is getting in the way of other anglers who do actually have a shot. Call it quitting if you want but I view it as ethical. But yes, you are correct in things worth doing are hard. If you watch my past videos, you’ll see a glimpse at how hard I worked to get to that point, let alone the work I put in when the cameras weren’t rolling. Appreciate the feedback.
It’s an ethics thing for me, man. When you don’t get a limit, you have no shot - not with that group of anglers. It’s messed up for me to go back and try to take fish from people who were doing well.
@@BEtheFish It’s very considerate of you to give it up, but would not have been “unethical” to fish that area. What if you had killed it in that spot and landed in the money, you never know…I’m sure your intuition was the right call, I just thought you were too kind in this instance.
