- Apple's new iPhone 14 lineup made its debut recently. Today let’s disassemble the iPhone 14 to view the interior structural changes and how those changes will affect repair. The major design change of iPhone 14 is that it is equipped with a removable back glass panel for easier repairs.

For your information, iPhone 14 can be opened both from the back and front. So screen replacement won’t be harder. BTW, iPhone 14 Pro teardown is on the way. We will follow up with motherboard separation, screen refurbishment, etc.. :D

@@AppleReviews Yup, the model shown in the video is physical dual sim, check the retaining clip at the back of the tray.

The detachable rear glass is nice. Hopefully the wireless charger, mic, and flashlight can be removed from the rear glass or else that part may be serialized.

@@leobreysse7281 yeah most likely the only thing that isn't serialized is the rear glass and flashlight. I have a feeling they will deactivate MagSafe charging if you change the wireless coil

the risk of damage to removing a screen to change a batter or charging port is so much better now as no need to remove the screen. I would much rather damage back glass then front oled to gain access to the phone. This is a brilliant design and unfortunately not in the pro models.

I think it really depends. Front screen just got a whole lot more complex. I works as phone technician and most of the time, the repair is the front screen (Dead pixel, black out, no touch, etc). It is essential for the phone. People can deals with broken backglass (case to cover it), or battery (need to charge more). But they can't use the phone with a broken front screen
@@ToanNguyen-xs4gs how is it more complex? You can still pop the display off the same way you would any other iPhone.
@@ToanNguyen-xs4gs u can open the front and back seperetly if u need to change battery u need to remove the back glass if u need to remove the display u can remove the display without opening the back since the display is connected to the underside of the motherboard so its probably the best repairable modern iphone

I've been opening most iPhone models from 3g to 11 pros and I have to say... this is the most beautifully laid out iPhone ever.
It look absolutely stunning from the inside.
The specs did not convince me, but I had to upgrade to this model and not the Pro because of this repair ability.
Honestly this is such big news and the lack of reporting on this even from Apple is underwhelming.
If they'd put this breakdown into their keynote they would have had a lot more sales!

@Rewa and everyone hi, if iphone front screen is smashed does it mean the polariser film will also be damaged or no not always, so dosent always need replacing only after careful inspection decide, or does it always need changing as a rule.thankyou in advance. Great video great company Rewa.

I need a comparison for the models with and without SIM tray. How different are they? and does it affect other connectivity features like satellite SOS?
For the models without SIM tray, you can check video from our friend VCC Board Repairs lastest video. Also the design without sim tray would not affect connectivity.

From what I can see it should be possible to only open it from the front to replace the screen as it seems there is access to the screen connector on the bottom of the motherboard though the midframe.

If any of you started repairing iphone from 1st generation up to know. You will remember the iphone 4 & 4S repairability for the screen replacement. This is resemblance repairability of this iphone 14. Exact same method by removing the back plate first, then remove all internal parts & lastly screen removal 🙂 Now the screen repair for this iphone 14 models will take longer because of this process. Good luck to all cellphone repair shop.

The front Face ID is on the back of the middle frame. The screen replacement is easier than Samsung.

Hey, it can be opened from front screen and back glass as well. it ideed makes the repair easier.

Screen replacement difficulty remains the same. You can still open the device from the front.
Screen connector was on back of logic board so no should be a lot easier

I think the iPhone 14 is good for gaming. because the location of the cpu is in the middle of the back and can be cooled using a cooling fan. fan cooling can directly lead to the cpu. is my opinion correct?
