Yea the story is that you have these Valkyrie Generals that gained significant magic power and youthful immortality by drinking the waters of these mystical Wellsprings. A war broke out between the Valkyrie and their Kyrie subjects, and they started magically reaching across time and space to find and summon new warriors that would join their cause. Jandar, for instance, looked for heroic and valiant warriors who were already about to die in combat, so as to not mess with the timeline too much. Utgar was Jandar's sort of evil foil, recruiting brutal conquerors and beasts. This Master Set presents a bit of a time skip since the last official expansion, and subverts this whole faction thing a little by introducing those futuristic pirates, the Dawnraider Syndicate. Composed of people once summoned and loyal to their respective Valkyrie Generals, but defected and became pirate mercenaries working for whoever pays most. So the pirates' cards do still have their original faction's colors, which can play out as far as synergies, but they're designed to be best played with other pirates.
They are indeed all new characters! Exciting times to be a Heroscape fan. I didn’t think I’d ever see new, Scape that wasn’t a licensed property. Everything looks good. Can’t wait to receive my copy. Thanks, BGC!

I found this on Amazon but it says ''Standard Edition - Master set" and I only want to buy it if it comes pre - painted. What do you make of this?
That would be the unpainted I bet, the Pre-Painted retail is 225 and the unpainted retail is 125. We do have the painted set on our online store.
