This was great! Lots of problems to solve along the way and a great showcase of SI's mentor and ATC. I was very impressed with how SI handled the mayday, even giving you suggested headings to the nearest airport. Nice emergency landing and split-second decision to go with the highway.
Thank you so much...means a lot! Yeah, I agree. SI handled it great. I wasn't sure what to expect, and it was a pleasant surprise. Great channel you have as well, just sub'd, I thought I already was, that's weird.
Enjoyed this, I'm new to MSFS so absorbing all levels of immersion and this is up there! Well done. I've never played it but looking forward to the journey. What additional AI apps/programs did you use? Is that how you were speaking to ATC? Please also share which VR system you used (although I think it best I start without VR). Great video. Thanks
SUBSCRIBED! Wow, so cool...! I love your channel already; I see that I am going to learn so much from you that's for certain. Very happy that we connected on Facebook, I can't wait to watch your videos and learn more about "GA's", I want to sign up for a flight school and get my PPL soon once my fiancée and I move back to Las Vegas, NV. early 2025. I 'm 54, it's never too late and I am passionate about getting this accomplished.
Ah, thank you so much & likewise, I subbed on yours earlier today. That's exciting that you plan to get your PPL I wish you nothing but the best on this journey & glad you like the channel. Thanks!
Your AI forgot to mention VFR turn back and to ask for weather. Maybe your carb got iced over...i didn't see you try carb heat. But the moment you had control issues at the start of the fight it should have been a sign! Other than that, good landing.
Yes, I agree. I should have done a few things better. I initially didn't plan very well, I was just looking to do a quick flight while trying out SayIntentions.ai and just assumed everything would be fine. I also forgot that I had recently set my realism in the sim to high, and failures could occur, so yes, it's very possible that I was getting some kind of icing on controls. After review, I also noticed that my fuel was empty on the left tank but still had a bit in the right, and that's what I was using, but it could have been a factor. Thanks for your input.
That's what I was thinking when I reviewed it, but I was on right tank. That one was very low but not completely empty. It still could have been a factor.
@@flightsimdronenexus I fly the warrior and fuel flow should be around 32lts an hour at a normal cruise of 2400rpm. Nil wind should result in a 110 knt cruise speed.
Awesome video. I wouldn’t be surprised if they were able to spawn AI emergency vehicles to your location. Follow-Me Cars are a thing already, so I’d think the same concept would apply in injecting another vehicle.
going by the fuel indications, it looked like a fuel starvation rather than engine failure: couldnt find you checking if you had swapped tanks, i was expecting that :D
Yeah, I went mixture full rich and tried to crank the engine, but I did forget to switch tanks. I did notice afterwards, because I have "state saving" enabled for the aircraft I was flying, that right tank was low but definitely had more fuel than the left and I was actually on the right tank, so not sure what happened there, but I definitely neglected to go over the checklist in the beginning. I should have checked the fuel, because it was definitely not enough. Thanks for your comment.
How awesome is this SI, just recently tried Beyond ATC but SI seems at the moment more complete. This just makes a massive immersive experience…. Now think of this and MSFS 2024 and being able to after landing you can just actually get out of your aircraft and walk around. Now they only need to make emergency services that arrive to the scene. Love the clip.
I initially got BeyondATC because it was a one-time payment and seemed cheaper, but I wasn't very happy with it, as I was having issues and it bugged me that you have to pay extra to get premium voices., as the basic ones were for lack of a better word...basic. I then decided to try SayIntentions.ai on their 24-hour trial period and was sold almost immediately. I got their annual plan. I figured out that the pricing with their unlimited premium voices and way more advanced platform, flying VFR, IFR, etc. was cheaper in the long run, especially if you fly daily like myself. Thanks, I'm glad you liked the video.
Nicely done! Did you ever figure out what the real problem was? Sure hope FS24 includes emergency services arrival for situations like this. Would make the sim that much more immersive. Thanks for the video. :)
After review and some input from others, I believe it was a combination of possible icing on the aircraft, which caused the control issues I was having and low fuel. I forgot that I had recently changed my settings in the sim to high realism and that things like this could happen. Thank you & yeah, that would be awesome if they can add emergency services.
I believe they currently have a traffic injection or are working on it, but most of the other aircraft you are hearing are either pre-recorded or other live users.
I had an engine failure yesterday, first time. I was flying the M20R Ovation cruising with autopilot on, master warning light comes on along with beeping, and my engine turned off. It was actually quite similar to your engine failure except I'm not sure what caused it. What is weird about my situation is that I never set up a failure for the flight nor do I have a random failure mod. Do you know if MSFS has random failures enabled by default? Maybe set at a crazy low chance? Maybe it's the Ovation mod?
Yes, MSFS does have random failures in the realism settings that are enabled by default, and you can turn off. Sometimes, the specific aircraft you are flying might have random failures as well.
I never felt so excited! That was real! :)

I was using SayIntentions.ai for the ATC and MSFS2020. The new version MSFS2024 got released today. I was also using Meta Quest 3 for my VR. Thanks!

That was a great video, and an outstanding job getting down safely! SI was very impressive in that situation.

This is just fantastic.

Cool vid! Looking at the replay, your left main fuel gauge indicates empty, were you feeding from that tank at the time the engine quit?
That's what I was thinking when I reviewed it, but I was on right tank. That one was very low but not completely empty. It still could have been a factor.
@@flightsimdronenexus Ok, thanks for the clarification. Great recovery and landing!
My man's out here in a full power cruise wondering why his engine quits
Lol...I've got places to be! Actually, it turns out after review that it was fuel starvation.

SI is substantially more expensive
Good work under pressure. I wonder if your fuel tank was empty. I didn’t see you switch tanks at all.
Thank you & yes, I do believe that fuel was a factor after review.
That’s pretty dang cool

is Say intentions working with AI Traffic?

@@flightsimdronenexusThey’re working on traffic injection. They think it’ll be ready for the next stage around mid to late December.

Its scary (in a good way) what say intentions can do
I agree 👍
