The heat treat wouldn't have anything to do with the bite of the edge. It would have to do with how long the edge lasts. The sharpening job is going to give you the bite, or lack there of.
👍 Bingo. All sharpening job & degree for "bite" In my experience, a more toothy edge like benchmade is going to have much more bite than polished.

Yea i can see that. Although if its soft, wouldnt the teeth be less aggressive or sharp. Therefor having less bite. And if hardness is the only factor why would composition matter? And why do some steels take a toothy edge and others feel slick? I think there are a lot of factors
@@LeftyEDC a good heat treat can make a knife easier to sharpen, because soft steel just deforms to easily, but the heat treat doesn't really make a knife "sharper" or "bite more". A soft steel can technically get very sharp but won't hold it's edge for shit. Different compositions just have different particles and different sharpening characteristics, hence why some steels perform better with different edges over others. That's my experience anyway.

Hey Lefty, just wondered if you heard of Medford Knives black card program that dropped last week and if you were thinking of jumping in on it? You put a grand down and then you get either 25% return on your investment at the end of a year or you can choose the mystery knife. 😂. What was the issue here? I didn’t cut a horse with each one. Thats not reviewing. Thats a cut test. Reviewing is giving your opinion on something, simply that. In this case i spend a few days or weeks with each knife. Flick it a bunch. Look at it. Then give my thoughts based on the 10000 knives i’ve handled to date. You the “viewer” (or are you?) watches the video and uses your past experience watching my videos to gauge what to take from the video, or not. Then leave a negative comment as usual. This is why i love you Elde667, you have never changed. Never grown to like me or my style of content. Yet you watch a lot of the videos. So i appreciate you.
