Amazing how well it works when you don’t ruin it with all manner of ludicrous realistic dramatics. And so good not to have any squealing countertenors that are the scourge of contemporary baroque performances. Such talented singers, all gathered together in one performance. Wonderful.
Absolutely. I saw horrible versions that exalted the bad taste of the art director rather than conveying the message of the music. Baroque opera is a difficult medium because it is so far away from our current expectations. When it falls in the hands of egotistic directors who understand nothing of the esthetics of H's time it is only palatable with eyes closed.
One of the rarest moments that I can sit down and watch, listen and understand the story. Everything that Vaclav touches is full of energy... This is just another marvellous example of his work with these awesome singers. A strong, articulated, rythimic orchestra together with the beautiful sceneries makes this my favourite Opera from Handel.
Such beautiful & virtuosic singing, I was completely entranced while thumping my hands, feet, head and entire body. Simply superb cast, beautiful staging and direction and I love all the Trouser roles, amazing voices.

Fabulous production of Rinaldo. Even though to my taste too brisk at times, the pace takes it to XXI century. But after all no one can be more relevant today than Händel. Exquisite and full of contemplation.
Wow the orchestra is pure magic!! Those energetic rhythmic pulses accentuate the singers’ melodic lines so perfectly. And the singing itself, is extremely impressive. I’m a pianist who is picky about opera, and this performance has me stunned.

Gorgeous music and singing - though I agree it's on unusually high speed, and I find it enjoyable that way - but I do wonder why the stage action wasn't lighted sufficiently for viewing on UA-cam?
Excellent production - staging, voices, costumes, music as well as the style of singer movements - everything seems to be fitting perfectly in this production and I as a viewer I fully believe emotions protagonists go through.
