Brian has a remote, he calls it Cole!
The bendix on the starter no longer go springy outy. Papa Bear taught me that right before he yelled at me about my flashlight aim😂
I never thought in a million years there would come a day when I thought 30 degrees was warm until I started living in Montana. When I check the weather and it’s above 29 during the day and I have to go out and feed horses, mini donks, etc. I feel like I won the lottery! Lol It’s like “Yes!!!! I can just go out in my sweatshirt!!! Yay!!!”
Cole, you are the remote 🤣
Brian and Cole, I hope Uncle Jeff is alright. We don't get to see much of him lately. If you can, let us all know if he's okay and in the meantime I'll be sending thoughts and prayers for all of your continued well being, just in case.
"Why do the nasty ones always get bred Dad?".....now there is a question I never asked my Dad....
I'm laughing. The first thing that popped in my mind was "don't talk about your mom like that boy if know what's good for you."
Cause you didn’t pay the vet enough to call her “open” 😂
There’s a life lesson in there somewhere. 😂😂
Lol 😄
If y’all are planning to start a family, I can hardly wait for you to have a little boy if The Lord sees fit🙏😊🌻
You guys make me laugh out loud “he’s a soprano now too”.. thank you for making the days brighter.
No your starter isn’t going out..Just quailty fuel to keep the tank warm and not freeze and add water.

Those Hereford's really spice up the place!
Comment, thanks and greetings from a Dutch dairyfarmer
Ended the last video hanging the boots up, and this video taking them off. What a transition! Editing is getting to the next level.
Absolutely, the edits and cuts and merges are contemplated and executed so dang well. Still needs more Ellie.
When a starter winds up but the bendix doesn't spin forward into the ring gear it's time for a new starter so it doesn't leave you stranded somewhere. Good video. Pax.
Ooh, claving starts next week and I can't wait. 🐄🐮
I hope that Calfing. 😊
They say claving.
I believe there was a spelling error one year for the calving records book... and "claving" was born.
So satisfying when you can check the animal handling off the list
I couldn't do it. No way. God bless farmers. 💯🙏🏻
Cole, get your dad a remote for Father’s Day!😊
Cole-the starter is fine, you can hear it running. It’s actually the “bendix spring”, is not engaging the starter motor to the flywheel.
Sure like that squeeze chute at the home place, mighty functional! Sure would have liked to had that when I was a kid working animals.
Thanks for the video.
Thank You and Your Dad for taking the time to do the videos. Working your systems make working cattle so easy.
For information. I see you tailing calves so they don’t kick. My dad bought 8 Brama bulls at the sale barn. This was the early 60’s. We tailed those darn things. They still kicked the living shit out of me. I saw dad dam near braking there tails still kicked. Was telling our vet and he said that Bramas don’t have a neutral. When we turned them out with the other feeders they all jumped the fence got in a corn field and didn’t see them until we chopped it. No More Bramas.
That is all I have to about that. 🤮🤮🤮
lol
Awesome Video and Much Love as Always 🌞 Farms!!!
Long day of some hard workin', gentlemen. And "Butcher's Word" is today's best YT title. :-)
Is the latch expensive - yes.
Is it worth the price to keep you n Mr Brian safe - absolutely! 👍
So good to see Mr Brian is almost back to top notch health again. And am loving the boot warmer! 😁🙏💙🦘
The movie in which you got the reference to the title of your video is absolutely hilarious
Brian, you just can't shake that cold. Hope you start feeling better.
Yea thanks for another great video Cole always an adventure with y’all
Great video, guys, as always.
Thank you. I really enjoy seeing the Sonne's work hard and make it look flawless.
Hope the whole family is happy and healthy.
Looking forward to another cycle of baby caves.
Thank the Lord the corn harvest was strong enough to give you a buffer on the cattel management.
God Bless folks.
LMAO Cole do you ever go back and watch your videos and just crack up at yourself ??? Your so funny and your facial expressions are the best!!!!!
I’d be willing to bet that’s not the first or last time Dad holds up your big head!! Haha! I love watching you two. It’s comic relief for me!! Pray the snow melts soon! All our ice is gone now. Thank goodness, Texans do not know how to drive or not drive in ice! Nearly every serious wreck was a big pickup!
I know you love your pure black angus cows, but the panda faces are so adorable.
You guys are in rare form today. Thanks for brightening my day.
Can't wait for the next video (calving 🤞)!
Brings on a Whole New Definition to:
"Iced Donuts" ! !!
Too Cool..!
Thanks for another great video.
It was interesting and enjoyable.
Busy work around the farm with the cow herd. That time of year.
Calf’s coming soon. Then you will be super busy.
Like the heater you got for the calf’s.
You take excellent care of your cow herd and baby calf’s. My compliments to you both.
Thanks for everything.
The Iowa Farm y.
We slaughtered a steer last Saturday. It is hanging for a week in the shop (trying to keep it around 38 degrees). Anyway, my 10 year old son worked the hide yesterday with a friend of his. They had four sections and they turned out really nice. I am excited to see what they do with them.
YAY! I'm so glad to see the Monday video back!
Thanks Tom!
Hey, ask your dad if he walked the cows up before the 4 wheelers?? I remember being 6 years old up getting the dairy cows and goats every morning. Always some cows in the very back 300+ acre field. Cold days were the worst. One good thing about it was that I was always thin. 😂😂😂
You can do the remote gate.
Spring loaded closed and open with a remote winch.
I raise and lower my pontoon from a couple hundred feet away.
An interesting concept: "An entire fence line of gates . . . Here a gate, there a gate, everywhere a gate." I'll bet it would be a maintenance nightmare in addition to being prohibitively expensive in time and materials. But job security if fabricating gates till the end of time is a life goal.
Kind of like our hwy worker's......
Love the channel. SONNE FARMS COMEDY at its best. Always brings a smile. God Bless
That was one of best (funny)video I believe yet. Content of course great too.
Poor cow just locked in there listening to those wonderful music chords. Love the vids keep um coming brotha🤣🤣🤣
I've never heard that huffing sound from the cattle before, almost as if they're coughing because it's cold?---I'm always amazed at the square dance you have to do to move vehicles around in the garage! Like that hand-held puzzle that moves the numbers in order!---I'm watching the temps near you...30s this week! No sub-zero temps like the North East...uff da. Folks think the Dakotas are cold, huh, nothing like that right now!
I hope you have an awesome clave season! Thanks for the the hard, cold, work and thanks for sharing!
Thanks!
Uncle Jeff on vacation haven't seen him he needs to be there to keep you boys in line
The squeeze is on!! Poor bulls didn't know what hit them! LOL!!!
With your face there and that tail up and doin what your doin seems like song of the day would be " into the danger zone "
Omg you all still have lots of beautiful snow awesome video Rosa olbera
Always a great video and good looking animals.
I’ve been watching you guys for a long time. And I admire you so much!!!❤
Thank you Sonne farms!!
"We're now sopranos, if you didn't know. . . . He's now a soprano as well."
Wait, what!
Probably should try lubing up the Bendix gear on your starter first.
The cold can make them stick.
The starter sounded like it has good strong rotation.
Cole , could it be the battery running down ?? As you only drive short journeys currently with heaters on full pelt etc just a though
ps Good luck with calving !!
Brian Dawson Edinburgh Scotland 😎
That new heater should definitely do the job
Great video Cole and Brian
Loved the various camera shots of the cattle coming through the chute. A very interesting perspective. Thank you. Great video. As always
You always make me chuckle 😃. Especially when u were drifting on the quad.take care.
"why do the nasty ones always get bred?" Cole, you have never been to Myrtle Beach on spring break!
That's the fastest transition to a soprano vocal range that I have ever seen. Cole and Brian's transition has a LONG way to go.
Some good looking Herefords in there, Puts a little color in the herd. lol
I definitely appreciate warm boots in the morning!
I am 100% sure...your starter is going out. Thanks for the fun videos!!
Cole you have to invent the hydraulic remote control gate. You are a very smart guy and so is your dad. I think between the two of you you could come up with something. And then you guys would be very rich. I love your channel.
Love Chicago, grandma
Cows just like humans. There’s a scale. Hot vs Crazy. Gotta be hot, to deal with crazy 😂
Great one, hard to believe the hard times are already getting ready to happen. Man, you guys are cold up there! And I thought it was bad down here.
On skid steer door all that it needed was adjusted. If you look at mounting holes they are oval to allow for each door to be set/adjusted .Make sure latch is centered with latch knob and should fix without needing to replace.
170.00. And Cole learns this ???
Hope that Jeff is okay, did not see him at his farm.
he is well!
Just waving a hand from texas good video
Hey Texas, did you get stuck in the ice.?
@@conradnelson5283 yes we did
Either that or the starter relay. Burrr snow.
Thank you for the video
God bless our ranchers and farmers
Welcome back to Monday, it’s been a while. Question, have you ever presented a drone view of your different areas where you process cattle.? It would be interesting to see the close in fields where you are bringing cattle in from to pour and send back to somewhere. Thanks for sharing this insightful video.
Wishing you and your family a blessed week, gentle seasonally appropriate weather and restful evenings. Peace Cole
Love the young bulls getting the nats being banded OH MY
That’s some mighty fine gates there!
Speaking of sopranos, Cole, I thought I warned you about never bending over around Dad when he's got his rubber band machine out! BTW, does Uncle Jeff know y'all were dogging his pretty red pickup hauling cattle in the trailer the other day? You better hope he don't watch that video!
Thank you for the videos. They make my day and my youth when I worked on my uncle's farms. Farming sure changed alot. You probably said why you spray the back of the cows but probably missed it. The reason behind spraying the backs of the cows thank you
Grubs. Scratching because they itch. Basically they are worming The cattle. Please correct me if I’m wrong Cole Or anyone else correct me Thank you. Deworming I meant
@@paulprigge1209 lice too
They are spraying for lice
awsome video cole thumbs up and shared didnt get to see jeff that much lately hope hes doing ok
Do you guys sell individual animals to the public? And which should I buy? A bull or cow? Is there a difference in quality/quantity/taste between the two? Between different breeds like Black Angus vs the Red Hereford? I know you and Brian raise both. The only reason I ask is I would much rather buy an animal I know where it came from, that it was raised properly and humanely, and keeps all the funds locally. I live just outside of Sioux Falls in a little place called Buffalo Ridge. It is maybe a hour and a half to Storla Station. Well worth the time, effort and money. And the title of the video...I lol-ed when I saw it.
🤣🤣😂 nice choice of song of the day i was thinking it myself
The cog gear on the end of your starter has either been ground down in all areas but one. That is the one that grabs them starts the truck or it is going out.
Another enjoyable video. Great editing Cole. Really got a good laugh. Thanks guys!
I sure miss the Farm!
Hey guys.
Apart from the obvious outcome of having your bag snatched, would you say that Steers are calmer than bulls to raise from youngsters? Seeing you driving the truck Cole reminds me of the fun you used to have trying to master the stick shift, did you ever crack it?
Stay safe guys and I hope the cold spell passes quickly and it warms up for claving time.
You change them from ambition to nutrition and they usually calm down.
Hi friends enjoyed the video have a day love from TEXAS
One of my favorite songs Brian
You can get an automatic gate opener for like 500 dollars at tractor supply works off like a garage opener but it might be to slow for what y’all want but something to look into
Good job as usual
You guys did a bunch of work on the calves on this one. Looks like your getting some good use out of the new track loader. Thanks for sharing, have a nice week.
Fun Vlog Cole & Brian...
I LOVE the banter 👍😁🤣😂🤣
Still sounding congested a bit Brian...
CONTINUED PRAYERS for a FULL RECOVERY... In JESUS NAME I PRAY...
AMEN 🙏✝️
GBY ALL 🙏❤️💙💖💙🤗✝️
yep, that starter drive is about to strand you!
I haven’t watched this one yet but the title from Tommy Boy made me laugh to I almost peed myself… I’m in the road I’ll watch this as soon as I stop
hahaha thanks!
Haha turn your underwear to get 2 weeks out of it. Hilarious Cole 😊
Tiffany'll be fixin' that right away....just sayin'
song of the day-----SONNE----Rammstein
One of those boys turned & saw the "jewel removal tool" & said, "O No".
Big Tom Callahan would be proud!
You and your dad together is a comic show I love how alike yall are
Cole Did Bubba have any Cow Pie on his Hat. ?????🤭👍🍻🍺☕🐶🐂🤓
What is the spray on the forehead and back for ? Nice cattle ! Love the videos ! A lot of guys are jealous of your good relatioinship with your dad !
You need to look at the new calicrate pro bander. You don't have to crimp or have a knife. Crimps on it's own and a knife built into the handle. Does use different bands.
I don't know why but I get real twitchy when those rubber bands come out!
Great video 👍😀👍
Another great video. I always look forward to calving season and watching you and your dad keeping track of the heifers and bulls. Seems like just yesterday you went through calving season; I guess time flies when you watch Sonne Farms videos.
How many bushels can one of your semis hold?
Probably between 700-900 if I were to guess. Could be wrong. Our tandems hold 600ish and that’s pushing it lol
I am totally amazed at what you and your father do. I’ve never realized just how hard beef and farmers work! You guys are amazing. Bless you all.! The equipment you work with is just amazing. Keep up the amazing work you do.
