The gear is designed to shear when it hits something solid… that way it doesnt strip the gearbox underneath which is way more expensive and harder to reach. Worked on a farm in Nebraska with about 2000 acres of alfalfa so changed a couple of those per season….
Had to change a shear hub on our John Deere mowing machine a couple years ago. Appreciative they designed it like that.
I was gonna say that until I read this haha but yes it is pretty ideal
Thats the nice thing about the NH cutter bars. Even the individual turtles are a sealed unit. So, even if a rock takes out the gear box. Your not getting metal frags through the whole machine.

You are WRONG! I get all my relationship advice from the internet. There is a guy named Maddog on here that gives advice on everything from infidelity to erectile disfunction to how to replace turbo gaskets on a Ram 3500. He doesn't take PayPal or anything like that, but he asks you to crate up roadkill, chickens, and sheep and send it to him by UPS. To apply to be one of his counseling patients is REALLY easy. You just have to answer one question, " Are you a cop?"

I have now watch all your videos. You have come a long way in your abilities in filming. It has also brought back several memories of my childhood and spending time on my grandparents farm.
