👍 I went and bought a Pittsburgh 2ton cuz that didn’t work on my old crapman anyway so I kinda jumped the gun with that comment and the plug I had was just a rubber plug and just a pain in the a.s but I did check the seal and everything was fine but just didn’t work anymore idk but I do recommend Pittsburgh products and Daytona is way too expensive for a regular all purpose floor jack
While I agree a drill with a clutch is the right tool for the job if you have enough experience with an impact gun and especially with one that has a variable trigger speed you can get the job done and without stripping anything but like I said that has to come with experience in skill.
You just have to know what you’re doing. If you go slow and have a feel for the impact you can do this kind of stuff all day. Plus every tool is a hammer. Except for screwdrivers. Those are chisels.
I would just like to say for anybody that owns floor, jacks or bottle jacks with hydraulic fluids, all jacks. That have hydraulic fluids have to be bleed every now and then because it’s just like brake lines your brake lines have air in them. Your brakes aren’t gonna work as well as they should writethe same thing with a jack
Fun fact 3 4 5 ton Daytona Jack they all have the same size cylinder. It's only until the 8 ton and 10 tone and 10 ton Daytona Jack's Jack is when they change the cylinder size.
Okay harbor freight, I'd love to know how to make it stop squealing like a dying pig every time I pump the jack handle? I've tried lubing every pivot point with a grease gun AND with spray lithium grease and I cannot make it stop. It is beyond obnoxious.
I have the expensive “sunburst orange” color jack and it makes that screeching sound as well. It’s only under load and I can’t figure it out either. DRIVES ME F-ing CRAZY!!!!
@@toxicxshamrock1428 same! Only under load, never free jacking, and it's truly maddening, and it would be nice if they could advise us on the known wear/squeal points. At this point I'm just gonna tear the whole pivoting assembly off and apart and grease the dog snot out of it and hope for the best! I'll keep you posted if it works once I actually get around to it.
@@ItsTheGrineer- strange I’ve had mine for five years probably. Never bled it once. And it’s not like it’s not doing its job or it’s soft. It out doesn’t need it. So I would disagree that you need to do this every month.
Any kind of grease meant for bearings or extreme pressure will work great. My favourite is Klondike nano full synthetic EP1.5. Lucas Red N Tacky and amsoil grease are also good choices.
The jack I bought came with these instructions in a book which I followed except topping off as I didn't have any but it didn't seem to need it as it works great
Was going to HF yesterday to grab the coupon for any Daytona jack w the intention of buying the jack in this demo. A fellow early-bird coupon shopper advised me to get the Super Duty one (Snap On competitor). I naively thought this was the same but just w long reach. He explained the Super Duty uses a premium piston seal that the standard ones do not. You also get a standard 3 yr warranty. All others are 90 days. I took his advice. After buying the standard one, I also noticed it has zert fittings in places for grease the others don't. TLDR I get it now - the others are designed to look like the same quality as the Super Duty but are more like well-built Pittsburg with a better paint job and different features.
@harborfright my floor jack released all its fluid after three uses, when I contacted support the best they offered me was a gift card as compensation because i did not buy the extended warranty, i did not take it. Please be careful of these jacks they could be extremely life threatening and dangerous!!!
How do you know that your jack needs bleeding??? I got three old jacks and none of them working properly. 1 - leaking oil, 2 - is not going up at all, 3 - can lift a car a bit, and then seems to be powerless... ???
Yes, i bought the black 3 ton but obviously if its sitting on a shelf its going to evaporate over time. They have a start up guide that comes with the jack that explains how to set it up and get the longest life expectancy out if it!!
Except my Pittsburgh jack I got brand new would never bleed right and leaked from new. They wouldn't ever take it back to return or even exchange. Now it's passed the return window and I'm stuck with a brand new jack that's don't work @harborfreight
Those are probably the Hardy 9 mil nitrile gloves (50pk) from HF. I have those; they’re great for oil changes but they do rip if they get caught on something.
Keep doing that for 40 years so I can see how you still you can lift a spoon😂😂 what a clown speak to a doctor about chemicals on your hands and what they do to you🤡🤡
Why are they selling a product not ready for use??? Maybe because it's overpriced garbage, all quality tools are sold ready to use non of this bullshit that should be performed by a professional in the factory, but that's not the worst part HF is a fucking joke when it comes to returning a defective item, if something breaks especially expensive equipment like generators or compressors or welders and you simply want to get your money back good luck, they're going to charge you a chicken shit restocking fee for an item that can't be restocked it's broken, believe me I went in fucking circles with management over it, HF is a circus full of a bunch of clowns, beware if you decide to shop there...
This is the best video I’ve seen and makes it quick and simple, others are more confusing
That would be because they built it😂
The only good thing they EVER built, for the record.

The fact the Daytona floor jacks are easy to maintain and change out fluid is nice on its own
Well done to the new media team.
Good, educational videos that also push the store/product
Woah the most simple video can never be found when searching for it
Ain’t that the truth. I’ll have to watch a 20 minute video about some guys life next time I search for this
I like the drill with clutch some people would do impact... they think impact is for everything and that they are the clutch lol
While I agree a drill with a clutch is the right tool for the job if you have enough experience with an impact gun and especially with one that has a variable trigger speed you can get the job done and without stripping anything but like I said that has to come with experience in skill.
That's why I love my Milwaukee M12 Screwdriver. Clutch with a 1/4 collet. Perfect for this type of stuff (and all IKEA furniture 😂)
You just have to know what you’re doing. If you go slow and have a feel for the impact you can do this kind of stuff all day. Plus every tool is a hammer. Except for screwdrivers. Those are chisels.
Great jack. Has worked without issue on my Aspen,Ram, Dakota and Durango.

Same here. Lol

I absolutely love my 3 ton low profile. I got a green one as a Christmas gift in 2020. I use it nearly daily.
The font size on the impact gun perfect for my granny
How often...I just bought one last month and used it twice so far but what would be the rule of thumb for maintenance

It's the pump design squeezing fluid from the pump pistons through the office into the Jack piston. You can't alter it. Made in China 😅.
@@prebaned That makes sense! I can see/hear the check valve squeal under pressure now lol😅
How often are you supposed to bleed them? Every 3K lifts? haha serious question
Those low-profile jacks are the best 👌🏻
If my Jack is working fine, why would I have to Do this? How often?
That’s what my jack looked like when it was new. lol have this jack over 4 years
Generally speaking, this is how you check and fill almost any floor jack.
Good vid, nice and simple 🙂👍
Whoever is running Harbour Freights UA-cam shorts is doing an amazing job marketing.
Are you supposed to bleed them after purchase? When is bleeding necessary?
You should always bleed jack after purchase and roughly every month thereafter, they can lose pressure over time especially with use.
@@ItsTheGrineer- strange I’ve had mine for five years probably. Never bled it once. And it’s not like it’s not doing its job or it’s soft. It out doesn’t need it. So I would disagree that you need to do this every month.
When do i know when i need to do this?
What the size from the handle yoke bolt
Suggestions on what kind of grease to use on the zerk fitting at the lift arm?

I did this for an hour, i pump, but it does down. Is it because of air still being trapped?
My jack keeps falling, could I just need a top off on fluid?
So you don't have to drain your oil?
Thank you for sharing
Any issues with these like the jack stands?
So is this a must for a brand new jack?
Is it worth getting the super duty?

I lost my handle Jack screw wish I could get a replacement
Any jack even after this process without weight,it will lift but once you put weight on it and test it still will not lift.
So what is the solution??
Do the process with weight on jack
Wait you have to change the oil on jacks why?
@harborfright my floor jack released all its fluid after three uses, when I contacted support the best they offered me was a gift card as compensation because i did not buy the extended warranty, i did not take it. I just had this problem like 30 mins ago I bought one and I put oil and after three pumps boom oils splashed everywhere
All hydraulic jacks are dangerous
yes, ones that are poorly made.@@JohnSmith-xu7ev
i love HF products, but hey i guess you get what you pay for... i really wish they could have handled my case better.@@nxtheoriginal2962

1 - leaking oil,

???
Does the floor Jack come with oil already in it?
Yes, i bought the black 3 ton but obviously if its sitting on a shelf its going to evaporate over time. They have a start up guide that comes with the jack that explains how to set it up and get the longest life expectancy out if it!!
Can I use ATF for hydraulic oil?
I've seen it done in 15+ year old jacks but I wouldn't mix fluids in my own just for peace of mind. It's probably fine but I wouldn't trust it
That was good you guys are always the best 💯
I have the same exact floor jack at home! 🤘🏼🧡
Except my Pittsburgh jack I got brand new would never bleed right and leaked from new. They wouldn't ever take it back to return or even exchange. Now it's passed the return window and I'm stuck with a brand new jack that's don't work
@harborfreight
Warranty exchange it, they honor warranty in person at the store
Don't forget to also spill a little hydraulic jack oil on your thumb this is the most critical part of it will not work👍🏽😏
good explained
It looks brand new why would i need to add oil
Those are great jacks
what if the floor jack is stuck in the UP position?
Rotate handle counter clockwise and it should lower, make sure handle is fully inserted
Does that gold screw serve any purpose?
Please don’t tell me your talking about the grease port🤦🏻
@austin012579 Thanks that's exactly what I was talking about lol. But what video actually shows them using that to grease? They only add oil to it
That’s right I have the same jack but mine is red
How do you do that on a snapon Jake lol
Need one of those
This is the same jack as the snap on.
Bring back the sale for 129.99
You can bleed any floor jack by fully opening the lowering valve and pumping the handle all the way up and all the way down like 10-20 times
Ya and where does the air go smart guy.
@@JM-yx1lmUranus.
Please do the table cart lift 1000#
Thanks I did know that
Still waiting to see how to stop the bleeding
AND....you should never have to do this unless there is an issue. If there is, it's faster to warranty it out than to do this.
You have to do this when they’re new …
....not when the jack is like over 100lbs.
Start by throwing it out ….😅
I’m just kidding I own three 😢😂
Go HF!
Need one for me please 🙏
Alway bleed any hydrauic cylinder when air is introduce 2 inside of houing😊
How do u know if air is introduced
Or just read the instructions that come with it and skip this video
Or just take it back and get a new one
People bleed their jacks? wtf
why does it even need it? oh yeah, nevermind.
I like how y’all aren’t even using harbor freight gloves
Maybe they’re using gloves that haven’t been released yet
Those are probably the Hardy 9 mil nitrile gloves (50pk) from HF.
I have those; they’re great for oil changes but they do rip if they get caught on something.
They do sell black nitrile gloves
Me too 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Daytona jacks are great.. Pittsburgh jacks are garbage.
Google harbor freight Jack law suit
Pretty sure that was jack stands not sheering easy enough, was it not?
Also you should never work under a vehicle held only by a jack.
You could have just slid the wrag under it
Rag
People that wear gloves, to work on things. Are afraid to get their hands dirty.
Or they just don't want to waste time washing their hands after the work is done.

It takes almost no time at all to use gloves and if you've ever smacked your knuckles when a bolt breaks loose you might consider getting some mpacts
well probably yeah. could that not be more obvious?
