Country music tells the stories of the lives we lived, the lives we are living, and sometimes the lives we wish we were living.Thank you for listening to the music we grew up with. Not just country music, but ALL music through the 50s, 60s, and 70s. May you be blessed as you listen. I have suggestions for you, but so do many others - I wish you the best!
Yep real country music. The man lived it. That is why todays country music is now pop. You can't have some young kid sing about love or loss or hardtimes cause they aint been there yet. And when they do get there Nashville has kicked them out for another 20 yr old. No way they sing in there 80s like he did.
God bless you. I live in Nashville and I had the very great privilege of seeing George Jones live in concert at the Ryman Auditorium (the old Opry House) many years ago. When he first came on stage he said "I don't have a lot of smoke and mirrors and I don't dance around on stage. I just stand here and sing." Some man from the back of the auditorium yelled back, "That's all we want you to do George! That's why we came here." It's true. He didn't need a lot of embellishments. Just a man, a guitar, a microphone, and that terrific voice and I would have gone home happy! BTW, I believe "A Picture of Me Without You" might be my very favorite song by George, though I also love The Grand Tour and He Stopped Loving Her Today and Things Have Gone to Pieces. Maybe I have FOUR favorite George Jones songs! BTW, I'm sure we all noticed but that performance was LIVE! There is a reason this man is a legend!
I have now watched several of your takes on George Jones. I love your reactions to his songs and your appreciation of his voice. Simply the gold standard of country singers. Good luck on your channel and I'll keep watching!
I can’t even begin to tell you just how loved this man is! Country music fans think of him as their uncle, cousin, family member, part of their family$. And they never even met him! He is the memories they were raised on. Country Royalty!!!!!’
God bless you. Britt love the journey your on with George country music is story telling and painting and picture in your mind. The saying is country music is but 3 cords and the truth 💙
I understand the notion that country uses simplicity in the genre, but what is sometimes lost is the genius of doing so. Country is able to use simple lyrics and melody to tell a complete story, that listeners can visually understand, and relate to. To be able to do so without complicated rhythms and lyrics is genius level story telling, and country has that mastered. That's why they say country only requires 3 chords and the truth. Great reaction, as usual.
I actually studied classic country in college - after growing up on it - and the teacher characterized classic country songs as '3-Minute Movies." for their simple and direct storytelling.
George's catalog of great songs is DEEP. He's on my Mount Rushmore of favorite artists... Along with Alan Jackson, Hank Williams Sr., and Hank Williams Jr. I could listen to those guys exclusively and extensively and be happy and content.
Absolutely my favorite singer of all time! If you're not sad before listening to George, you will after he sings. He can make you feel it. Thanks for this reaction.
Britt, I appreciate that you not only discovered the great talent of country artists from a couple generations ago, but the pleasure of seeing you also enjoy the music of the talent of that time and sharing your discoveries with your viewers of today's generation. Knowing that there is a severe shortage of great talent today, with a few exceptions, it is wonderful to know that we can still reach back in time and experience the true greatness of so many artists. Thank you for sharing.
Bless your sweet heart and your family, this old world is full of singer's but just a few are chosen to tear your heart out when they sang is the opening line in Who's gonna fill there shoes but that is who he was and still is today through his lifetime of music, a legendary country artist that most other country legends admired for the voice and ability to pull your heart out of your chest and put back in without surgery, it's kinda hard to recommend one song so I say do all of them if you can because there is no one else that can fill those shoes
I’m with you, George slips into that deep baritone for one fleeting moment then right back up like nobody else. There is a lot of complexity in the simplicity of his vocals, if you can make sense of that seeming contradiction. You need to check out The Race Is On by Mr. Jones if you haven’t yet.
Iam 67 and been a rock and southern rock and blues fan all my life, But as a kid being in the neighborhood bars with my dad I remember hearing all these old songs and have a love for it. I am so glad to see a young person take the time to listen and you get it. Much respect young lady.
Very simple song and No Show Jones had away of turning simple lyrics upside down making the meaning of the song to touch your heart and soul like no one else can or could do.
Bless you having my coffee again this morning enjoying your videos. Would you add more rock ‘n’ roll to your library please thank you and have a day you deserve.😊

God Bless You. Congrats on hitting 100k Subscribers!! Definitely well deserved. I am glad that Don over at Rock N 2 Country recommended your channel or I may have never found this fantastic channel. Sending love from British Columbia, Canada.
I love your reactions to George, classic country, you also have to check out some Conway Twiggy "That's My Job", his record catalog is loaded with hits like this one.
In Spanish after someone sneezes I am used to saying "salud" (which means health). My aunt Balbina had a maid named Salud. When someone sneezed, Salud would say Jesus.
You can never beat a G J song but there is another country artist that I have mentioned several times you must hear and that is Country Chaley Pride, he will turn your world upside down and then some. love Ya.
I love your reaction to George , you really get it. Now if you would like to fall in love with a new artist , Angelina Gordan won Norways got talent at 7 yrs old. I think Norway , but start there and I promise she will blow your mind. You have a beautiful soul and I wish you and your family only the best.
The King of Country. He was so great!!
he is great!!!
Listen to that crowd! I wish I had been there! A true legend❤❤❤❤❤

You are so clear on your insight. Musical styles are beautiful and different. A story, three chords and the truth always raise our spirits.
Simply beautiful, you should check out Lori Morgan’s version of this as well
So neat to see how you appreciate George singing!!
I am 90 years old and I had the pleasure of listening to him his entire life and most of mine!!!

What's funny is I said "God bless you" when you sneezed without even thinking that I was talking to a video haha
In Spanish after someone sneezes I am used to saying "salud" (which means health). My aunt Balbina had a maid named Salud. When someone sneezed, Salud would say Jesus.
