I can't wait having it deliverd. I'm coming from a D3300 as my first DSLR and I am anxious to see how this will be. Photography is an addiction for sure. Thanks for the great review!
Same man, I just got my D3300 about 9 months ago and I'm already looking into buying a more advanced camera, mainly because you can take out and lcd screen and tilt it around for self portraits ect. I hear you get better iso performance with this also and a few other things I'm looking forward to.
Swag Muffin the d750 has tilt screen not the d7200 the 750 is also full frame and has a couple other improvements but thise are the main 2 (also its touch screen if that matters to you) but the price tag is pretty hefty in comparison but if that means one more month of saving its worth it tbh depends on your needs though☻
Just launched my Facebook group "Happy Shooting". Come talk with me, ask questions share your work. Open community. See you there! facebook.com/groups/happyshootingphoto/
+Faymusmedia Hello there thanks for the vid..... I'm a beginner so it was not in enough detail or too advanced for me basically... do you have vids for beginners starting out please? I'm thinking of buying this as my first camera. Would you trust "B Stock" (returned to store camera with a years guarantee)? Thanks :)
just upgraded from the D5100 which was a great camera for me. Can't wait to shoot sports action, especially since the buffer capacity has been increased to handle the 6fps capability. Great review, Thanks
Great review! You mentioned shooting "flat" and then adding film grade and emulation to get a nice "film" look. Is this done in Premiere or FCP or ? Thank you!
Great quality i love the begining of the video. Sometimes i had the impression that there was a frame problem. wasn't always smooth. i guess my eyes got spoiled with 60fps videos lately.
Nikon D7200 is a great product get it here amzn.to/1O3E6Y0 Bring your creative vision to life with photos and videos that shine with sharpness and clarity.
Faymusmedia If you had a firm budget of $1500.00 Would you buy Nikon d7100 with the 17-55mm f2.8 used or Nikon d610 with 24-85mmvr used. Image quality is the only thing that matters.
Really enjoyed the premise of the review - far more interesting to hear and watch someone talk about the camera while out in the field, in an unpredictable environment. Can't ask for a better place than NYC for that! Will definitely come back for more.
I watched this review last week and today I bought the camera. I used it for a few hours and came home to view photos. I shot them all in RAW/NEF. Lightroom and Photoshop is unable to open these files at the moment. I've been on a few Forums and this is a problem everyone is having. There should be an update sometime within the next couple of months. Just giving you all a heads up if you are planning on buying this camera in the near future, and so you don't have the same disappointment I have at the moment. thanks for the great review, Corey.
What camera do you recommend for me. I'm just getting started and what I'm gonna be photographing and videoing is dirt bikes, what camera would be good for me?
Awesome Demo, there, I own the D7200 and D810 and sony A6300, The D7200 with the right glass can out perform most full frame canon,s and thats my favorite camera
So which one do you prefer, A6300 or D7200? I'm pretty confused between these 2. I just want the camera for family pictures and some portraits! And which glass would you prefer?
Great review. Question, would it be better to get the 7200 or a 610 (that happens to come with a free nikon battery grip) ? They are similar in price and the 610 is full frame. Thoughts ?
Okay I have a d5000 2 kit lenses and 35 50 and 85 1.8 a;so the 18-200 4-5.6 Is my next step d7200 or go all out with d750? If I get d750 go with hot 24-120 f4 Or refurb 24-70 2.8 Also would I be really off on the low end (wide) with the 24-70 2.8 on the d7200?
Thanks for the great review, how do you think this cam would go with a 300mm f4D (not the newest version with nano coating and all that fanciness) and a tc14e II? Would it look soft due to the teleconverter? Thanks for your help, I'm looking to move from Pentax to Nikon.
Putting aside things like dual card slots, weather sealing and the focusing motor; how would the D5500 and D7200 compare for shooting video? I believe they both have the Sony sensor. Perhaps, does the d7200 focus better during video than the d5500 does? And is the flip out screen on the d5500 really useful for making videos? I do dig how small and light the d5500 appears to be, but not at the sacrifice of production quality. I'd like a camera for 60% stills (portraits of dressed up people at comic conventions, and street photography while traveling) And 40% for video (I'd like to start my own UA-cam channel where I can make video blogs at conventions and when I travel. I'd also like to record my dog as he gets all wierd as summer hits) I've never recorded video on a DSLR before, so I'd really value your feedback of which of these 2 cameras would give me the most satisfying results for my uses. I already have a Nikon 35mm 1.8 G lens from way back, so I'd probably just buy a d5500 or d7200 body to start. Thanks! I love the great presentation in your videos. And Johan, great camera work!
this lens is a Full frame lens right and it's on a crop sensor camera wouldn't u have to multiple the aperture and length by the crop sensor to get the true value.. so as a 85mm it would be 127.5mm and that f1.4 turns into f2.1.. is this right?
I really enjoyed your D7200 review Corey. Thanks for that. I am also taking it as a sign from above that I should purchase one because you passed in front of my apartment building on West 23rd St. I own the D7000 and have enjoyed using it and I am now ready for the upgrade....with that 85mm F/1.4 lens that you used too. Can you tell me your favorite settings that I can try for the U1 & U2's. I need one for action & birds in flights and also one for lowlight photography. Thanks much.
Thanks for the video Corey! I recent bought a used d7100 for a wedding but returned it because I wanted 60fps at 1080p so I bought a new d7200. The d7200's video dr seems low and doesn't recover much in shadows and highlight when grading although reviews claim it has 14.6 stops of dr. Are these reviews reporting just what the stills of the d7200 can produce in dr or does this mean the the d7200 can produce 14.6 stops of dr in both the stills and video?
Hey Corey (and Johan). I loved this video and loved the thorough review of the camera. I enjoyed NY in the background as well. It was good seeing you focusing on the product rather than running around like a madman pretending you are Jeremy Clarkson on Top Gear (some might know what I'm hinting at). I have subscribed. Keep up the good work. Greetings from the other side of the world.
Really? The only main difference is the video? The buffer increase is probably the biggest and most important difference! Haha. The 7200 also has the Expeed 4, not the 3 from the 7100
Nikon gives you little bits of information at a time, giving you the next bit on the next camera they build? This keeps Nikon in the game of building new DSLR's!
I'm grappling right now between the D7200 & the D750. I'm coming from a D300. My biggest concern i guess is low light performance. Will they be close in that regard or will the D750 blow it out of the water?
One thing I can't figure out is control e4, that let's you select how flash exposure compensation works. Is one for compensating the entire exposure, flash and ambient, and the other only for the subject without impacting ambient exposure? If so. which is which? Thanks
hello sir thanks for video and my question is nikon d7200 with 85mm 1.8g nikon d5500 with 85mm 1.8g as well so which one you think is good for picture thanks again ❤❤
Good Review Cory, Just bought the 7200 and Grip (Also own the 7100 with the grip but going to sell it) and love this camera! Loved my 7100 but time to upgrade. Also own a D750 (The best out of the two) and love that camera as well! :D
I am planning to buy this Camera, can you suggest me a few lenses that can truly bring out the potential of this camera? I want to shoot sports and wildlife! I would like to buy great glass used for better prices.
Sir i want to buy a Dslr, which is better for me canon 70D, 80D or nikon D7200. I m interested in still photography not video. Which is good for low light between those models?
Nikon d7200 is a DX camera right??? And i saw that the crop factor of this camera is 1.25x. - So does that mean the lens that been used in this vid is 85 f1.4 x 1.25 =106mm???
the d750 came down $300. I have d5000 2 kits lens and just bot the 18-200 dx. Primes are 35 50 and 85 1.8. LASt 2 are FX lenses. Would my next step be this or the d750. All the same will my pics be better (or that much better) with fx? Can i be as happy with the d7200 for speed and low light etc Thanks for the help
Good reviewer ,i have a D300s and need to up grade but to what ??? i do from sport to still , very wide range, i need a fast camera with flash sink speed and surperb hi iso quality ,please help
You say you don't get aperture control when in Live view. What if you stick on an old lens with a manual aperture ring on it. In theory you would be able to control it and would see the effect wouldn't you?
Im considering Buying this Camera for Terrestrial use & attaching to my Telescope for Astronomical use, never had a real Camera b4 & I don't understand any of what you said in this video. It would be the standard lens to start out with.
Straight off the bat, the main difference is that the sensor is made by Sony in the 7200, as opposed to the Toshiba in the 7100. They have different tones. The other important difference is the better buffer on the 7200. Yet I've gone back to the 7100 because I like the colours more. And the buffer is no issue to me because I use JPEGs. The 7200 will probably be more electronic and crisp looking, and yes you get better fps in video, but again, I've had both and I prefer the look of the 7100, with my vintage lenses. You always have to sacrifice something, when buying a camera.
hi, great review i must say. i am from Bangladesh, Asia. I want to buy this d7200 gray market as it is less expensive and affordable for me. but to get genuine brand new d7200, what factors i should consider. is nikon-offered-registration helpful in this regard?
Canon 7D mark II or Nikon D7200? Which one should I buy? I don't have wild life or sports photography passion. I would like to busy a camera for my personal purposes. Image quality is something what matters to me.. Please suggest..
I use this Camera for film production! I have some examples of cinematic footage and product feature videos. Check them out and feel free to ask questions!
you stated that the focusing is quicker than the 7D2 & i agree with you for single shot focus but the focus tracking on the 7D2 is way better than the 7200 which is what is commonly used in sports/wildlife.
gamwpanagia i have a 7D2 with me at the moment and i disagree with you, you need to try this camera before you judge it. i'm getting 9/10 in focus and i'm still learning it. The lense also plays a big part.
MrKdr500 I have tried both and I'm not judging it negatively mate. The percentage is indeed very close however the 7d2 gets more shots in focus as it snaps more photos since it's 40% faster.
Hey bud... There's been some talk that the D7200 lacks shadow detail in LOW LIGHT using LOW ISOs compared to the D7100. (youtube, Angry Photographer) ... Have You noticed this at all or is it false. Keep up the good work!
Shots are nice but a bit too tight for my liking with that lens. 85mm on a 1.5 crop sensor would actually be 127.5mm right? Ok for portraits but not street photography imho. Maybe should of used the 14-24 2.8. Great vid tho :)
I like your way to review new camera, By the way dude,which lens is better for the D7200? 1.DX NIKKOR 16-85mm f/3.5-5.6G 2.Nikkor 24-85mm f/3.5-4.5G 3.NIKKOR 24-120mm F4 G
Martin Ting Pong It's hard to say. Will you upgrade to FX? Yes - discards first option. Go for 3. it has better range. But you may get better results with lens designed for DX then FX (more in link below). No - If you want good overal lens for DX and you will use flash while shooting go for 18-140mm. Maybe get 17-50mm 2,8 if it's sufficient range for you. It depends on your needs and if you want one or more lenses. Also pick what is more effective for you in terms of future upgrades. Do you need to go FX or can you make pictures you like with DX body? If you are number person test results are for D7100 but for your imagination: www.dxomark.com/Lenses/Compare/Side-by-side/17-50mm-f-2.8-EX-DC-OS-HSM-Nikon-on-Nikon-D7100-versus-AF-S-NIKKOR-24-120mm-f-4G-ED-VR-on-Nikon-D7100-versus-Nikon-AF-S-DX-NIKKOR-18-140mm-F35-56G-ED-VR-on-Nikon-D7100___377_865_321_865_1208_865 (Press go to DXO mark in right upper corner) If you switch 24-120mm to D610 you will see major improvent in actual sharpness = real megapixel information you get through lens to sensor.
Great Video. After this review video i bought a nikon d7200! Iam very exicted about the video features because i want to record some footage for microstock with it.. but in your new york scenes the movies looked a bit unsharp compared to the sony a7s.. i know its a 4k kamera but i really hope that my nikon d7200 will also make sharp full hd videos when it arrives. Your look (hair+face) reminds me of one of the housebreaker from home alone 2. But i dont mean this in a negative way. Thats really great!! it fits perfect to New York. Keep it up!!! :)
+Chrïs so what did you finally do I also have the D90 and was thinking of D7200 or D750. The issue for me with the D750 is upgrading my lenses that will cost a lot.
Aperture control in live view works on D7100/D7200 with the new Nikkor 300mm F4E PF !!! due to a new electronic iris control. Will Nikon bring out a new generation of lenses with electronic iris controls???
I can't wait having it deliverd. I'm coming from a D3300 as my first DSLR and I am anxious to see how this will be. Photography is an addiction for sure. Thanks for the great review!

I have a D3400 and I wish I went straight to something like the 5200! I'm saving for the 7200
Me too man. But I don't know what to choose the 7200 or canon 6d

Anyone else notice the irony of the snap of the black and white couple followed by the line "I just love black and white" lol
Great review! You mentioned shooting "flat" and then adding film grade and emulation to get a nice "film" look. Is this done in Premiere or FCP or ? Thank you!
I forgot to mention this was filmed on the Sony A7s in 4k. What do you guys think?
Great quality i love the begining of the video. Sometimes i had the impression that there was a frame problem. wasn't always smooth. i guess my eyes got spoiled with 60fps videos lately.
Video quality is exceptional. Camera man needs to invest in some sort of stabilizer though.
Nikon D7200 is a great product get it here amzn.to/1O3E6Y0 Bring your creative vision to life with photos and videos that shine with sharpness and clarity.

I have been waiting for this! Nice!

thanks for the great review, Corey.
This is the best review I've seen of the D7200. Thanks!
This is my first dlsr after 20 year gap from photography love it
Thank you for the great review keep up the good work, what is that viewfinder eyepiece you got on the camera?
What camera do you recommend for me. I'm just getting started and what I'm gonna be photographing and videoing is dirt bikes, what camera would be good for me?

Had been waiting for you to review this. Great job as always. Thanks.
Okay I have a d5000 2 kit lenses and 35 50 and 85 1.8 a;so the 18-200 4-5.6
Is my next step d7200 or go all out with d750?

I have the D7000. Was looking at the D7100 , should I go for or should I really go to the 7200 ??
Hi..are you gojng to do a review on the D750?? And is flare problem should i be concerned of?
Putting aside things like dual card slots, weather sealing and the focusing motor; how would the D5500 and D7200 compare for shooting video? I believe they both have the Sony sensor.
Perhaps, does the d7200 focus better during video than the d5500 does?
And is the flip out screen on the d5500 really useful for making videos? I do dig how small and light the d5500 appears to be, but not at the sacrifice of production quality.
I'd like a camera for 60% stills (portraits of dressed up people at comic conventions, and street photography while traveling)
And 40% for video (I'd like to start my own UA-cam channel where I can make video blogs at conventions and when I travel. I'd also like to record my dog as he gets all wierd as summer hits)
I've never recorded video on a DSLR before, so I'd really value your feedback of which of these 2 cameras would give me the most satisfying results for my uses.
I already have a Nikon 35mm 1.8 G lens from way back, so I'd probably just buy a d5500 or d7200 body to start.
Thanks! I love the great presentation in your videos.
And Johan, great camera work!
Amazing cam! Can't wait to retire my D5100 for this.
***** haha same here
Me three!
+Mike Bruschke I'm retiring my d5200 next week! :)
Lol! “I just Love Black and White”.... then takes a picture of a black and white couple.
Great video, man! Can’t wait to get mine.
Great review. So I will see a huge difference from d3200 to this?
Sony Alpha 77 Mark 2 or Nikon D7200... ?
Street, Landscapes, Portraits, Nature are my Interests..
sometimes some wedding photo shoots too..
Excellent review, going to upgrade from a D5300 to this for the faster shutter 1/8000, weather sealing, better controls and all around better body.
Faymus Media Does the 7200 have an option to attach an external Swivel-ly-Tilty screen like the one the Nikon D5500?
hello, which is better camera Nikon d7200 or Canon 80d.
which can be my 2nd camera after Nikon d3300.....help me.
Thanks a lot..........

Fantastic review! I may well pull the trigger on this D7200 because of your enthusiasm, details, and thorough review :)
Hi,
can you tell me the name of that eye cup you are using with the D7200?
I can´t find it in my country...
Thank you very much
I really enjoyed your D7200 review Corey.

You look a lot like Marv from home alone x) btw great video!!
What is that recorder or sound system you are using?
Another great review, I enjoy them. May I ask what kind/brand of grip you're using? Nikon or 3rd party? Thanks.
I have subscribed. hello sir thanks for video and my question is
nikon d7200 with 85mm 1.8g
nikon d5500 with 85mm 1.8g as well
so which one you think is good for picture
thanks again ❤❤
Would you chose it over the D610?
LOVE THE VIDEO...I have the 7200 with the kit lens 18-140mm and I love it for outdooor and landscape photoGraphy..THANKS!
I would like to buy great glass used for better prices.
that lady that smiled and looked at the camera was so beautiful omg
Great review! I'm sold. Let the saving up begin
another great video Corey. good to see you again.
albertr915 Thanks Albert!
Sir i want to buy a Dslr, which is better for me canon 70D, 80D or nikon D7200. I m interested in still photography not video. Which is good for low light between those models?
Nikon d7200 is a DX camera right???
And i saw that the crop factor of this camera is 1.25x.
-
So does that mean the lens that been used in this vid is 85 f1.4 x 1.25
=106mm???
Absolutely the best review of this camera, great job
the d750 came down $300. I have d5000 2 kits lens and just bot the 18-200 dx. Primes are 35 50 and 85 1.8. LASt 2 are FX lenses. Would my next step be this or the d750. All the same will my pics be better (or that much better) with fx?
Can i be as happy with the d7200 for speed and low light etc
Thanks for the help
Hey FaymusMedia, which eyecup for the ocular do you use in this Video?
In the lowlight tests why on the pics in conparrason different colours in the reds an whites
your color graded footage is always awesome!
Good reviewer ,i have a D300s and need to up grade but to what ???
i do from sport to still , very wide range, i need a fast camera with flash sink speed and surperb hi iso quality ,please help
nice review!!always watch your reviews before i buy lenses or cameras..:) good job..
Damn, I want that lens.
Which focus mode did/do you use for street?
You say you don't get aperture control when in Live view. What if you stick on an old lens with a manual aperture ring on it. In theory you would be able to control it and would see the effect wouldn't you?

It would be the standard lens to start out with.
would like to no the lens you have on the D7200?
After seeing your review on the Tokina 70-300 mm VC lens, I'm wondering why you mentioned putting a 70-200 lens (assuming a Nikon lens)??
Straight off the bat, the main difference is that the sensor is made by Sony in the 7200, as opposed to the Toshiba in the 7100. They have different tones.

You always have to sacrifice something, when buying a camera.
Have you compared it to the Pentax K3?
Where is th links for the battery grip and eye cup?
which camera I should buy D5600 or D7200
What brand Battery grip are you using ?
Just AWESOME AWESOME reviews!, keep up the great work!... A BEEEG THANK YOU!!!
How about Nikon 24-70 f2.8 for a walk around lens?
damn.. those seem like some pretty sharp images...
The review i was looking for. Super useful. Thank you so much....
hi, great review i must say. i am from Bangladesh, Asia. I want to buy this d7200 gray market as it is less expensive and affordable for me. but to get genuine brand new d7200, what factors i should consider. is nikon-offered-registration helpful in this regard?
I love the reviews you guys do on here, nice work. But you guys really need to use a steady cam of some sort!
Top notch video. I have the Nikon D7200 on the way. ❤❤❤ Thanks for sharing your thoughts with us. ❤❤❤
Canon 7D mark II or Nikon D7200? Which one should I buy? I don't have wild life or sports photography passion. I would like to busy a camera for my personal purposes. Image quality is something what matters to me.. Please suggest..
+Rakib Hasan In that case, defiantly the D7200, better image quality all around.
Great review and very entertaining. Loving my D7200 btw thanks!
I use this Camera for film production! I have some examples of cinematic footage and product feature videos. Check them out and feel free to ask questions!
what was the lens again ?
This video is an example of why camera gear doesn't matter too much: top quality camera, very bad pictures.
Just got this in exchange from D80. And MY DEAR GOD. feels like this camera is made by angels. #Cameraporn
Great in depth review. well done
I'm upgrading from my d3000 (ya I know) so this will be killer for sports
you stated that the focusing is quicker than the 7D2 & i agree with you for single shot focus but the focus tracking on the 7D2 is way better than the 7200 which is what is commonly used in sports/wildlife.
MrKdr500 On paper it is way better but in practice the % of shots in focus are very close between these cameras.
gamwpanagia i have a 7D2 with me at the moment and i disagree with you, you need to try this camera before you judge it. i'm getting 9/10 in focus and i'm still learning it. The lense also plays a big part.
MrKdr500 I have tried both and I'm not judging it negatively mate. The percentage is indeed very close however the 7d2 gets more shots in focus as it snaps more photos since it's 40% faster.
Great review, Thanks !
I like your way to review new camera,
By the way dude, which lens is better for the D7200?
1.DX NIKKOR 16-85mm f/3.5-5.6G
2.Nikkor 24-85mm f/3.5-4.5G
3.NIKKOR 24-120mm F4 G
Martin Ting Pong It's hard to say. Will you upgrade to FX?
Yes - discards first option. Go for 3. it has better range. But you may get better results with lens designed for DX then FX (more in link below).
No - If you want good overal lens for DX and you will use flash while shooting go for 18-140mm.
Maybe get 17-50mm 2,8 if it's sufficient range for you.
It depends on your needs and if you want one or more lenses.
Also pick what is more effective for you in terms of future upgrades.
Do you need to go FX or can you make pictures you like with DX body?
If you are number person test results are for D7100 but for your imagination:

(Press go to DXO mark in right upper corner)
If you switch 24-120mm to D610 you will see major improvent in actual sharpness = real megapixel information you get through lens to sensor.
Show de bola! Liked it very much, your review is fantastic! greetings from Brazil!
Great review .. just earned yourself another sub
Nice ...what is the name of the last i strumental song please...nice presentation..good job
Great video!!!! Im looking for this camera.
De mi puño y letra Thanks! Its a great camera.
I'm looking to upgrade from my Nikon D90, which one is better this one the Nikon d610?
Chrïs Depends. This one gets you closer, and more fps. The D610 is full frame.
ya that's true, thanks!
Chrïs Hi I am also on same boat of D90. Just wanted to check if you moved to D7200 or D610 ?
Atanu Dutta Not yet man but I think I'm just gonna go with the D750! Solid camera.
Awesome review... How come you didn't mention Wi-Fi and NFC ?
and the bigger buffer
Very nice video, quality is very good from that A7S. BUT this D7200 doesnt want to make me upgrade from my excellent D7100....
I have this camera with kit lens 18-140. Not really happy with the lens. Image quality is not sharp. Which allround lens is the best choice for D7200?
I felt the same with the 18-140 kit lens also....looking for a replacement zoom lens also
what is lens you have on the D7200?
Nikkor 85mm f1.4
