Hello Austin, in between watching the Buffalo Bills distroy the New England Patriots, I watched your great video. I honestly can't pick a favorite color BUT I didn't care for the pink guitar. The whole collection is keepers... My pop's repaired firearms had a ways & means of injecting glue into broken stocks. They sell kits that will do that now. I repaired a pushed in Strapbutton on my first electric guitar, a used Red 1966 Guild Starfire was the guitar. I still jam with her, ear plugs in place depending on what amp I'm using. Randy, Great North Woods Michigan
It's actually not from stand rash, they were hung up in the store, on the show floor, up across the back, in the no touch zone, all our Gibsons were. And back then even from Gibson, they never told us to not hang up their guitars, every store did....of course many guitar stands nowadays come with paper stating don't put Gibson's on them. We were told it was Transparent Black and back in 1990, (as the white custom was pure white) the transparent black was grey, as the purple WAS purple, the white was white, not the cream they many times turned to. I have seen them in since the late 90's. But to me, some of the transparent colors have mellowed a touch
@William A. Horton fully agree. This is not the first time this is happened. If Trogly just ignores it without demanding compensation from either the seller or from the shipping company , he becomes a target for anyone that wants to take advantage of a reasonable person. Worse, it hurt the industry when people end up paying too much for a worse condition guitar. This happened most frequently on eBay but I’m starting to see this happening more and more on reverb. I bet if he threatened publishing the sellers name or his dad’s, shops name , the seller would do the right thing
@@rikkousa like he doesn’t take advantage of buyers!! Gets thousands more than he buys them for. Dealers don’t even get the profit margins he gets! Just saying
@@guitarflyer172 selling something for more than you bought it isnt taking advantage of a buyer. What planet do you live on? Not disclosing damage is definitely taking advantage of buyers and is dishonest and unethical, especially if you say it is in better condition that it is.
@@guitarflyer172 it’s called a free market. If he can flip them for a profit to support his hobby, why not? He does not claim to be non profit or a charitable organization lol.
I’ve shipped guitars that were less than $100 better than the shipping job they did with those guitars. Absolutely unreal someone would willingly send those guitars with such an awful pack job.
My favorite is definitely the Amber one. I don’t understand people who don’t ship guitars properly. I can’t believe they shipped three guitars in one giant box. I was holding my breath every time he picked one up. Cool set Trogly!
Agreed, the Trans Amber was beautiful, especially with the grain the top had going on. Yeah, only one chance to ship them correctly and they failed, SMH
And bare in mind, these were hanging in the store I worked at for awhile, colors, especially see thru, and especially Gibson can fade. The other set of 6, actually were bought together, a high end customer of the store, took those. If a 3rd set, I don't recollect the store ever had those. The mocha, actually to us said transparent black when we unboxed them, but black fades.
Beautiful set. Nice find! Total bummer about the undisclosed damage and terrible packing job. I’ve received some stuff in the past with some nightmare-inducing pack jobs. Disappointing when damage caused during shipping could have been avoided by proper packing.
Some Dealers are pure Scumbags and not disclosing the defects is Bush League, neck rash is the all-time rookie mistake, Nitro reacts to anything with rubber, let's face it some people should not own a Guitar store
@@leo._.vincent yeah, they're pretty good about it. I had an issue with some shipping damage (presumably) on a Rickenbacker bass, and actually had a guy from Reverb call and offer some solutions that wouldn't involve just refunding the whole thing. I decided in the end to send it back to the dealer, because I didn't really want the hassle of having some miscellaneous guitar tech straighten things out for me.
Nice set overall, but for me the 'issues' are a deal breaker and warrant return. Not sure what parameters govern this sale, but stand rash alone on all if promoted as new/VOS/mint etc is a mis-representation...not to mention the strap button on the one standard and the head dings on the customs. I hate it when people are not honest with what they're selling and then turn and pack all/some of it completely inadequately!
100% agree. The sunken strap button would have been the last straw for myself. That is if I was able to get past shipping three instruments in a old Home Depot box and wrapping paper. In all probability there's $10K worth of guitars not even packages as well as a set of Brake Pads from the auto store.
I would NOT have kept them with all non disclosed damage and shipping damage. If they were listed as mint, they are far from that. The stand rash looks horrible.
Considering how often stand rash occurs I would suspect an experienced Luthier could repair the damaged areas with a minimal of work, perhaps a careful wet sand and polish to only the affected areas.
Austin should keep them but try to get some of his money back for all the non-disclosed wear/damage, as well as the shipping damage that occurred (hopefully the seller properly insured them and wouldn’t even be out that money if a claim is submitted to the shipping carrier).
@scott Paine I could not agree with you more. This is not the first time this has happened to trogly. In fact each time this has happened , he has not , to my knowledge gone back to the seller to ask for a discount, a return, or minimally shamed them so that everyone would be aware of who the bad actors are. His refusal to do this hurts the entire industry by making it OK for bad actors to sneak in guitars with hidden issues and raise prices unnecessarily for all of us. I hope Trogly is reading this and uses this is an example to call out the seller. I want names;)
@@grantkoeller8911 honestly that's part of the reason i prefer fenders to gibsons. idk if it's just me but i think they look great with some wear on them, especially if it tells a players story. hell fender even beats up their guitars themselves to make them look cool
The blue one blew (heh) me away when you opened it. Maybe because it was the first one, but I still love the look of that one. I also like the "mocha" better than you do. Not my favorite, but very cool. Perhaps due to the wood grain, which I liked a lot. And the wood grain on the amber was awesome.
i have the "mocha"...i think the actual color is transparent black...my wife thinks its hers and affectionally calls it "sexual chocolate" (coming to america referencefor you)!!! cheers brother!!!
I actually quite like that 'swampy-coloured' one! 😀 Definitely much more than Gold Tops! 😊 But it's the _blue_ one that really stands out to me, too! 😀👍

I think the Custom in Trans-White would have looked much better if there was more grain pattern in the maple top, similar to the Trans-Amber which (BTW) also looked great.
yellow and blue ones are the best for me. i'm kinda curious to hear what if any money you got back from the seller due to the undisclosed damage. the top on that yellow one tho... amazing
What?! Dude, I would have opened every single box the same day I took delivery! I don’t really like the gold hardware, but that Amber colored standard is amazing and I really love the ‘ugly’ mocha standard.
I just....I've never been a fan of gold pickup covers and knobs. I'm okay with the gold knobs on the Epiphone Les Paul I've got, but even there, it's a Bonomossa Lazarus, and I'd kind of like black knobs to go with the now black-faced custom "greenie" pickups I had installed.
Trannys would love these. Trans Blue. Trans Pink. Not flawless but looks really sweet. The 2nd color I would call magenta or a hot pink. Leans towards purple rather than that carnation pink you get mixing red and white. That's a HOT pink so magenta would be basically what I'd call that one. 8:30 if you think that's ugly, what price you want for it? hehe It's a nice light brown bronzish coloUr. I think it looks great.
Dude. Mocha is my jam. I’ve been an old man for more than half my life & anything that looks remotely like a root-beer barrel candy I’m in. Nice collection!
Have you ever talked about how you became a collector? Being financially challenged myself I've often fantasized about having a chance to play and own such beautiful instruments.

I’ve been shipping guitars per Dan Earlwine’s book for over 20 years and never had a problem. 3 guitars in one box? Only a moron would do that. Hope you get some cash back for all the undisclosed dings and the amateur shipping. Great collection; other than the cringeworthy moments I enjoyed this!
it's one of those where people just lack imagination. When I ship a guitar (which I don't do that often, but still!), I will use an actual guitar box, for starters. I'm glad to know the bit about taking the tailpiece strap lug off on a Gibson, though, as I did not realize that a boxed Gibson inside a case could take that kind of a hit down there.
When the wood is compressed it usually can be fixed by steaming the wood . It can possibly damage the finish but its hidden under the strap button . Soldering iron and wet towel will solve it with out filling it out but the hole need to be redone . Thanks again for your videos!
@deMarcGuitars i have heard dings and neck compressions can be done this way with an iron and a wet towel but I’ve been too afraid to do this.;) Curious if you have any fixes for the stress cracks in the neck pocket which is popular damage to strat pluses from the late 80s a stress crack reduce the value a lot on all finishes . I figured once cracked always cracked
The Strap Button issue is grade school, The neck rash is a shame, Checking is Checking, But Headstock Chunks is a 15-yard penalty and I would call them back and tell them they are Whale shit for shipping with garbage found in the back of a Grocery store
You’d think someone who was a dealer would know how to properly ship out guitars. The packaging is unacceptable & sloppy, I’d definitely send back those guitars as they’re all damaged one way or another.
The dealers SON sold them to him, if I heard correctly. So he probably didn’t know crap about it and his father is probably rolling in his grave (assuming that’s the only reason he would allow them to be sold).
Only the one was damaged during shipping, the rest were already damaged. however it should have been disclosed. if Austin had to pay for the return shipping it might not have been worth it. and he would have been just as well off of keep them. but if it were me I would definitely give the seller a piece of my mind, for failing to disclose the important information.
As I slowly save up for my first Gibson (entry level, of course), I’ve finally come to a simple conclusion: Trogly has to be rich. His collection is insane.

I’ve got 58 guitars in my collection - not rich but always ready to pull the trigger on a deal. It’s amazing how many musicians need cash quickly - and I’m here to help :)
WOOOOOOOOOOOW that yellow!!! and they paired it with a REASONABLE colored back (which is to say not RED. the red looks so blech with these bright yellows and mostly everyone does it.) love the wood grain on this. never seen one quite like it! 💛
I can't wrap my brain around leaving any Gibson sitting around in a box and not opening them for weeks!!! My inner guitar nerd would not allow me to not tear into them the second they arrived! 🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯
If i was buying new old stock I'd expect some blemishes but they are not in the best condition and that stand rash would bug the crap out of me. Not mint at all.
You've got to admit. Your job is one that many of us dream about. At least when it comes to playing guitars. Not everyone can turn their passion into 0a job they love. Congratulations to you for doing such a great job of it too. I like the Mocha coloured LP the most. The butterscotch one wasn't bad either. When you opened the case for the pink or os it fuchsia LPit almost looked the same color of the lining in its case. The blue one looks much darker blue on the back more like the model I've been searching for since I saw the one I had to pass up in the early eighties. The last one looks like it would've been good with a burst finish or at least perimeter blacked out.. I was looking at buying an Imperial by DBS which is much like a DC except the body is a deep carved top. The one I was looking at which was a black cherry with gold hardware. Not only had excessive ware on the hardware but by the time I was geared up to but it had sustained damage leaving a substantial almost quarter inch chunk missing from its headstock. I ended up buying one in a cherry . burst
What a bounty you got there Austin, beautiful collection and one to be proud of! My two favorites are the Amber burst which is the third one you opened and the almost White/off white custom beautiful! Even the mocha one is not a bad color and the Barney pink one is also kind of cool in its own way. Bummer about the strap button on the bottom of the Amber burst one because of the bad packing job but thank goodness that was the worst of the damage. Outstanding collection!
This is a beautiful collection! If I'd bought a set like that, there would not have been any shipment damage; I would have driven there and picked them up in person. (I also would have expected some consideration for the undisclosed damage). I don't care how far away it was from home, I'd have taken a road trip. Those beautiful instruments didn't deserve to be shipped like that.
I also wondered about that. Pretty much I open all my packages the day they arrive just in case something is damaged or missing. I mean heck, those boxes could have been full of Epiphones!
That's what is unique about my situation with having to run a UA-cam channel as compared to a regular guy. I have to wait until I can set up my area to film the unboxing and be able to present on the topic which requires research, a bit of memorization/refresher of the topic and being in the right mental place to do it. I also have reviews that might take priority over filming unboxing episodes among other things. Add in the Holidays, getting sick, getting injured then other people in the family getting sick and having a good 20 guitars delivered within 2 days also added to the delay here. I'm also really unhappy with my recording set up right now for unboxings so I have low motivation to film them - lugging that triple box to my other recording location was out of the picture. Yes, it opens me up for liability and is ultimately the reason I never bothered the seller with any of these damages. I typically try to open within one week for that reason. Thankfully, if something gets damaged, you usually have around 45-90 days to report it to the carrier and since I film everything there is never a question of "I broke it after it arrived"
@@Trog Much respect to you Austin. I've personally found that just having small children can take up 50% of your day and sometimes 60% of your night. Sleep becomes an option. I think this Holiday Season with the whole COVID mess has finally worn everyone down past their personal limits. I get that we have and are in a pandemic, but we have to put it behind us sooner or later (hopefully sooner). If I lived closer I'd offer to help. It would be a dream job to professionally open and document guitars! Of course to put into context, just opening and documenting them is a lot less stressful than the person who's actually bought and paid for them! Again, much respect to you Austin. I hope that any family illnesses or injuries heal up quickly and you can work towards some form of normal daily life (I actually wish that for all of us).
Really sweet collection. One thing that kind of sucks about buying Gibsons especially used ones is if that guitar was ever rough handled or dropped while in use or in shipping, especially around the headstock area, sometimes the damage doesn’t appear right away. I bought a visually mint condition studio once that arrived just fine but maybe three weeks later, while sitting on the stand it developed a crack underneath the fretboard area but still in the neck right near the typical break area. I was able to get it repaired and glued back up like new again for relatively cheap, but it is something to keep in mind with those sensitive Gibson head stocks.
I love the trans blue. I’ve had a lot of trans colors and blue in my opinion usually has the best look. The grain almost always looks black under the blue
Sucks that the seller wasn't forthcoming in disclosure of defects, and that he carelessly packaged those beauties when shipping. Still it's sweet that you snagged the entire set. My personal favorite would have to be the trans white, followed by the Barney pinkish one.
To be honest, I kinda dig the Moka one, however, the trans blue is stunning, and I don't normally like the colour blue, besides a blue sky that is, much less a blue guitar, Nonetheless, the trans blue is sweeeeet! Congrats on your new old set!
Oddly the two you liked the least were by far (and we're talking not even close) the ones I liked best... weird. I LOVE the mocha one, and that trans red custom is SWEET if you ask me. Wasn't too taken with any of the others really, but like you said, if you want the set you've gotta have all 6!
Nice set, sorry about the damage. I agree with (dark) Blue and White, if the purple was a darker shade that may have won the day, but that is more lavender than purple. Red comes in 3rd. The Totally jelly at your collection.
Nice set of Les Paul's! I like the blue and the purple/pink! Bummer about the strap button. Why the hell would you box 3 together like that? Common sense ain't that common!
The mocha is what I’ve heard called “Baby Poop Brown”. You would think a dealer would know the stands are going to eat into the lacquer. All the stands I’ve purchased came with a prominent WARNING tag saying it was likely to occur if the foam padding contacts the nitrocellulose finish on the instrument. Even on the cheapest stand Musician’s Friend sold. Oh well, it is what it is. Caveat emptor. Peace my friend.
Having "PLEASE DO NOT PLAY" written on a piece of paper next to the display isn't a dead giveaway that the guitar's weren't just in storage or whatever he was told by the seller. It's almost like he didn't even look them over and just grabbed them off a shelf or out of wherever they were stored, half-assed packaged them and sent them out. What a complete idiot. I'm not saying he should have lied but don't tell a buyer they've never been played and then send them like he did with stand rash, chips, and "do not play" card's from when they were on display like he said he said they never were. Plus, I've watched the show enough to know that had the seller been honest a n disclosed the issue's prior to lying about them he may have had a chance at selling the second set if the price was right and Trogly knew he may be able to make some money on the second one or the one he least liked. That's what he does and from his commentary it's obvious he's wany the 6 for some time. Again, having watched the show enough I know he's easy to work with but don't lie to him or you have pretty much ended any business relationship that may have existed or may have been possible.
I kinda like the purple one, I would call the color *cerise* and I also like the red one but that one would have been even cooler if it was solid red then it would look like the old Ferrari Red Les Pauls. My rank: 1 - Cerise 2 - White 3 - Red 4 - Blue 5 - Vintage amber 6 - Nasty grayish brown I would love it if Gibson made a new limited run like this and did it like the Les Paul Special they sold a couple years back with matching headstock!
Yeah, they all had something going on that (IMO) made them special. Years ago I ran across a Les Paul standard that had natural back and sides with only the guitar's top and the face of the head stock finished in Surf Green. Gosh I wish I'd bought that when I saw it.
Before selecting actual colours (I am Canadian.), if I was buying an actual collection of guitars, I would always insist on gold hardware. It ALWAYS looks so much more elegant! My last guitar was a shade of red called burgundy, but it has more blue in it than this guitar. The red in the collection has too much orange in it for my eyes. Now for my favourites (3): My favourite colour is blue and this blue is really nice and quite unique. The pink or purple one didn't initially get to me, but, on the couch, it really got to me. Finally, I have to agree with you. The white, with the gold hardware, is so elegant and regal that the others just do not compare. I have a question, if you choose to answer. Although I had as many as 15 guitars at one stage, I never thought of collecting a series of guitars. I am not asking what you paid for this collection, I am asking what this collection would normally sell for now? In advance Austin (I think that is your name.), regardless what you decide, thank you kindly, Bill in Toronto
@@scottstetzer tho he said mocha, to us when we unpacked them, it said transparent black, it looked grey actually to me. Now they were displayed, all 6, hanging across the top of the store. I had them protected (stand rash) then I left in 1997, so who knows

Greyish green?!?! WTF?! 😳 Anyway, that grey/green finish, also called 'mocha' (which is light brown) was my favourite. And the white one is the one I'd pick last. I'm glad we don't all like the same things.
EXACTLY Same kind of person who with ship a box full of kittens or puppies, there is no way I could ever understand the thought process that resulted in the way they were shipped.
I have a vintage trans red Les Paul Custom (only the top is red, everything else is natural mahogany) and the black plastics do look great. That said, in the past I've changed all of the black plastics to the cream used on the LP Standards and it totally transforms the way the guitar looks and presents. It is wild how just changing the plastics can transform the instrument into a totally different looking guitar.
For myself it is a toss-up between the trans-white, trans-amber or the trans-blue. They all had something cool going on. I could never buy & sell guitars for a living, it would seem I am only capable of the "Buy" part, and even then it is too far and few for my liking.......................
Interesting vid and very well presented. With each guitar you opened, my blood pressure rose a little more. Personally I would be choked with the state of those guitars as they simply weren't in the condition the seller said they were. I endured a similar situation when I purchased a complete set of 7 White stock Winchester .30-30' Rifles. The seller claimed they were never displayed, but clearly the stock and barrel condition was flawed. Now when I make big purchases, I find the potential purchase online but fly to the city, make the purchase then and rent a car to get my product home safley so it's not damaged by shipping companies. The White and Blue Les Pauls were beautiful looking with the translucent finish.
The way these were shipped just boggles my mind... absolute insanity. You take such care when packing up guitars and it’s painfully obvious that this seller didn’t care at all. Really a bummer 😞
I think you are lucky that all 6 are in as good and clean shape as they are in. My buddy has a trans purple one of these that has spent most of its life in its case in a controlled environment and it has a severe case of checking all over, even chunks of the finish coming off. I just figured it had something to do with this run or maybe the time frame it was finished in…
Congratulations on picking up the six guitar set I absolutely love the blue one it reminds me of a deluxe these are wonderful guitars and I think that they're a great addition to your collection I enjoyed the video thanks Austin
You're far too kind brother. With the amount of money you must have spent on this collection I'D BE FURIOUS over the lack of care this seller put into shipping these guitars. He either deliberately left out disclosing this damage or he caused it by the poor packing. Either way he should pay!
Is this all you do to stay at home and barter with Gibson's guitars? Do you play in a band? Do you record or have a studio? Do you have band mates from days of old? Or do you practice thumb movements all day long? You had me at Steve Howes LP but is it work day in day out to post videos to buy and sell? I'm missing something here?
Love the guitars but hate how the seller didnt disclose the damages plus the lazy packaging. You should ask for refund especially since youre spending that much money
Don’t take this the wrong way brother… I love your channel and I learn a TON from every episode…. So, thank you! But I would never, ever sell you a guitar lol.
Once you realize that these big companies destroyed all stock that doesn't sell you lose you're lust for overpriced wood paint plastic and metal. Not to mention the rare materials or trees cut for another copy with a different look.
Awesome! Are you planning on doing review & demo episodes for each one? They’re all pretty awesome even the “gray/green” one. I LOVE the blue back on the blue-one too.

We were told it was Transparent Black and back in 1990, (as the white custom was pure white) the transparent black was grey, as the purple WAS purple, the white was white, not the cream they many times turned to.
I have seen them in since the late 90's. But to me, some of the transparent colors have mellowed a touch
I would be interested to hear how the seller compensates you for all those blems…please update us.
Just saying

I’ve shipped guitars that were less than $100 better than the shipping job they did with those guitars. Absolutely unreal someone would willingly send those guitars with such an awful pack job.
You absolutely right. No excuse for that!
Highly disappointing.
Had to be a non guitar player in my mind.... I ship with overkill on the packaging all the time.
I'm with you on this. I pack any guitar I sell like it was a one of a kind high dollar item. No reason to do otherwise.
It blows my mind how people can make such poor decisions when it comes to packing and shipping.
Wasn't necessary to ship 3 in a box. What was seller thinking? The stand rash could have been prevented if displayed better
12:08 🥚
And bare in mind, these were hanging in the store I worked at for awhile, colors, especially see thru, and especially Gibson can fade. The other set of 6, actually were bought together, a high end customer of the store, took those. If a 3rd set, I don't recollect the store ever had those.
The mocha, actually to us said transparent black when we unboxed them, but black fades.
yup, transparent black...bought mine at the house of guitars in rochester NY, n thats what they said it was...
My first thought was root beer float

It's the most original ....never seen that before.
Growing up in the 80’s my dog was named Mocha, she was the best dog ever. I would love to play that guitar for the NAME of the color alone
Beautiful set. Nice find! Total bummer about the undisclosed damage and terrible packing job. I’ve received some stuff in the past with some nightmare-inducing pack jobs. Disappointing when damage caused during shipping could have been avoided by proper packing.
Some Dealers are pure Scumbags and not disclosing the defects is Bush League, neck rash is the all-time rookie mistake, Nitro reacts to anything with rubber, let's face it some people should not own a Guitar store
but does reverb have kind of protection for the buyer?

@@leo._.vincent yeah, they're pretty good about it. I had an issue with some shipping damage (presumably) on a Rickenbacker bass, and actually had a guy from Reverb call and offer some solutions that wouldn't involve just refunding the whole thing. I decided in the end to send it back to the dealer, because I didn't really want the hassle of having some miscellaneous guitar tech straighten things out for me.
My favorite part about this channel is being able to see and learn about some really cool guitars I've never seen or heard of.
My favourite part is not spending the money Austin does! I'd die of anxiety every time I open the case to see how shipping mangled the instrument 😬
Add to that, they just aren't that cool looking. Colors are blah...
He’s damn sure got full blown evidence for the seller by unpacking them for the world to see! Sounds like he wants to keep them for the price he paid.
@M I see that. Hope he gets what he’s asking as full sets can take years to sell.
@M I hope that gets his money back…….perhaps more?
I would NOT have kept them with all non disclosed damage and shipping damage. If they were listed as mint, they are far from that. The stand rash looks horrible.
Considering how often stand rash occurs I would suspect an experienced Luthier could repair the damaged areas with a minimal of work, perhaps a careful wet sand and polish to only the affected areas.
They are meant to be played not hung on the wall and worshipped

I actually love that red Custom. Then again, I love bright colors on my guitars (I'm in an 80s cover band, so that helps!).

The mocha is actually my favorite. Followed by the amber. The white is cool but I’m not a huge fan of the custom binding.
I think the Custom in Trans-White would have looked much better if there was more grain pattern in the maple top, similar to the Trans-Amber which (BTW) also looked great.
Mocha looks good but the black back and neck let it down in my mind, should have been walnut.
Amber very nice .
yellow and blue ones are the best for me. i'm kinda curious to hear what if any money you got back from the seller due to the undisclosed damage. the top on that yellow one tho... amazing

I think I'd actually take the mocha one, I like the more natural look and the chrome hardware.
Trannys would love these. Trans Blue. Trans Pink. Not flawless but looks really sweet. The 2nd color I would call magenta or a hot pink. it's one of those where people just lack imagination.

I like the butterscotch guitar #5 - very dreamy. Next like is #3, translucent-orange swamp grain.
How you get a damaged box and wait weeks before confirming its not damaged? You asking for issues returning them if so.

Stunning!
I have the new-ish Telecaster with the flame maple “plus top” veneer in blue burst, and the back is trans blue… it’s gorgeous.
The blue trans finish is awesome...they need to start making these again!

In advance Austin (I think that is your name.), regardless what you decide, thank you kindly,

There they are...I was the tech who worked for the owner...and responsible for those for years...the Black one is my favorite....
Yep....
black?
@@scottstetzer tho he said mocha, to us when we unpacked them, it said transparent black, it looked grey actually to me.
Now they were displayed, all 6, hanging across the top of the store. I had them protected (stand rash) then I left in 1997, so who knows
@@flippercarlin1657 Yeah, friend has a "mocha" he bought new back then and I remembered it as grey also.Saw it for the first time 30 years this summer and they grey seems to have faded somehow to this mocha color.
@@scottstetzer yep..... there's a Les Paul forum that says it was officially transparent black, and within a couple years the grey look that we say faded weird, so much became the unofficial color lol...back n neck were jet-black
Greyish green?!?! WTF?! 😳
Anyway, that grey/green finish, also called 'mocha' (which is light brown) was my favourite. And the white one is the one I'd pick last. I'm glad we don't all like the same things.
So how much did the seller save by packing three instruments in one giant box?
EXACTLY
Same kind of person who with ship a box full of kittens or puppies, there is no way I could ever understand the thought process that resulted in the way they were shipped.
He would have saved nothing if it was me -- the whole lot would be going back and I'd be filing a complaint with Reverb.
That red custom is my favorite! The red with the black is just perfect
Actually, the white one of my favorite 😍
Wait, wait, wait, the trans-red takes the number one spot
For myself it is a toss-up between the trans-white, trans-amber or the trans-blue.
They all had something cool going on. I could never buy & sell guitars for a living, it would seem I am only capable of the "Buy" part, and even then it is too far and few for my liking.......................
The pickguard looks misaligned on the blue one 1:17, my favorite was the mocha.
Someone is getting a good post-unboxing discount for all that shipping damage.
I just figured it had something to do with this run or maybe the time frame it was finished in…
I would guess that your buddy's "controlled" environment has to much moisture in the mix, a classic polyurethane killer.
So now we're dealing with a trans guitar? Does it think it's a violin?
You’re killing me smalls ! 😂😂😂
Holy moly those are some beautiful guitars the Blue one and the 2 Customs are my favorites, oh and the Amber one too.
These reviews make me terrified to buy guitars shipped
dish carve on all of them is incredible!!
What happen to the “please don’t drop” tags?
Congratulations on picking up the six guitar set I absolutely love the blue one it reminds me of a deluxe these are wonderful guitars and I think that they're a great addition to your collection I enjoyed the video thanks Austin
Your beard is awesome
You're far too kind brother. With the amount of money you must have spent on this collection I'D BE FURIOUS over the lack of care this seller put into shipping these guitars. He either deliberately left out disclosing this damage or he caused it by the poor packing. Either way he should pay!
I love the fact that your doin this in the laundry room. it's perfect
Mocha is my personal favorite. Its a very sophisticated looking guitar, imo. Thank you for sharing.
These are amazing- I had to pause your video and start again on a bigger screen!
Colour isn't European, it's ENGLISH
There is something so funny about seeing all of those LPs on the couch looking like guests at a party watching you.
Terrible packaging by that seller
Is this all you do to stay at home and barter with Gibson's guitars? Do you play in a band? Do you record or have a studio? Do you have band mates from days of old? Or do you practice thumb movements all day long? You had me at Steve Howes LP but is it work day in day out to post videos to buy and sell? I'm missing something here?
Your last statement is pretty accurate. I document guitars, it’s all I have time to do
Love the guitars but hate how the seller didnt disclose the damages plus the lazy packaging. You should ask for refund especially since youre spending that much money
Beautiful collection, what a great find.
Wonder how many irreplaceable guitars get damaged, lost or stolen during the millions of shipments each year.
I wouldn't even want to imagine that...
IMHO, even just a single instrument being damaged is inexcusable. Given the amount of value it makes no sense whatsoever to ship something so poorly.
Don’t take this the wrong way brother… I love your channel and I learn a TON from every episode…. So, thank you! But I would never, ever sell you a guitar lol.
That actually is a pretty cool collection
I live vicariously through this show, when it comes to expensive Les Pauls, I know what I have to do but I don't know if I have the strength to do it
The seller seems highly unprofessional.
That Barney LP color is my absolute favorite. I wish they did more models in it!
Once you realize that these big companies destroyed all stock that doesn't sell you lose you're lust for overpriced wood paint plastic and metal. Not to mention the rare materials or trees cut for another copy with a different look.
Next time have these sets wood crated. My heart sunk as you narrated.
I’ve never been this early to anything.
Woohoo!! Welcome!!
Nice job
Awesome! Are you planning on doing review & demo episodes for each one? They’re all pretty awesome even the “gray/green” one. I LOVE the blue back on the blue-one too.
Only if I run low on review topics
