The Warning have just past the tipping point and are now on another level. They have touring and opening for Halestorm and a few club nights On 26th & 29th Aug they headlined 2 sell out concerts in Mexico City During the tour Dani was waiting for guitar from guitar tech for next song and Lzzy Hale surprised her by addressing the audience and presenting her with a new guitar. The last Mexican gig was special as the girls teachers joined them on stage as guests for different song The sold out crowd could be heard loudly sing all the words in english. Very nice reaction to the Pau cam! Pau has so much energy! She loves her toms a lot! Nice rhythm changes, slow triplets… I trust you fully when you say she is a superb drummer! And moreover, here not noticeable so much, she always sings a lot of great backing vocals! I subscribed! Thanks, greetings from Germany 👍⚡️🤘
Andrew as always you are spot on. Paulina has tricks but plays in the pocket with power but not overplaying. She would have been a great addition to the Foo Fighters tribute concert for Taylor Hawkins at Wembley Stadium. Maybe they can still get her for the LA show coming up. Hopefully!

Here's another + 40 minutes workout video that she streamed live for the fans that could not attend the venue. ua-cam.com/video/X7byO60k8Q8/v-deo.html ( _Notice the eye contact between her and her younger sister_ )
It's too bad that the audio is not great for the bass, otherwise you could have heard that, right after the flam kicks, Ale does a kick-ass bass slide and the combo gives me chills every time. And the ad at the end, your reaction was just golden. HEHE! 😜
Somewhere, I've seen video from when these ladies were VERY young, and the band included their parents. Paulina looked to be about six years old, but you could already see her immense talent behind the drum kit.
Like Ceci said she tore her kick drum. The show was in Gilford, New Hampshire. During their second song, QOTMS about 4 minutes into a 35 minute set. It is a brutal song so understandable. She also yells at the crowd during their last song Evolve, "I wanna see everyone's hands up, I broke my drum kit for you!" There's also IMO a better Pau cam angle of a show in Denver
@@stormcloud5631 Could be, sound is definitely better. Also, they weren't playing Error yet in Denver which could be another. I just like Pau's camera angle better in Denver
I enjoyed your reaction, which made it interesting watching the back of a drummer for 7 minutes. Before I discovered The Warning I never paid attention to drummers and found percussion instruments to be quite distracting. That changed when I watched a video of Pau singing Dust to Dust while drumming. I was inexplicably blown away and became an immediate fan of the band, which also made me a fan of at least one drummer 😀. Now I pay attention to drummers and watch reaction videos focused on drumming. Who knew? I've enjoyed a number of your videos, not just from The Warning, so I think it's only right to subscribe. Cheers!
She used to be all arms and legs everywhere if you look at old stuff like the Ted talk session, but now she is so much more economical in her approach. Good to see cuz she shouldn't have any health problems now and drum for many years to come.
This band just keeps getting better and better……Pau is the drummer, runs the band, controls the stage cues, sets up the videos….sings…..in the beginning she was the driving force…..impressive and multi talented young artists 👏👏👏👏
I'm with you, when a band is as good as these ladies we need to get behind them, and show our support. Pau is the worthy winner of the Drumeo "Drummer of the Year" award, and Modern Drummers "Up and Coming" poll winner for 2023. I'm not a drummer, I play guitar, but I am a fan, and she's earned my respect.
The first time I saw the warning I loved their music instantly. Bur it was Pau I was transfixed to hearing that barrage of explosions in my ears took me to musical heaven. Its a pure joy watching her in action she is simply outstanding
These three young ladies each do their part to make The Warning unique, not only because the female or sisters or from Mexico or even because their stunning to look at, but because of their superior talents that they possess and bring to the stage every single time! In my opinion they are the best band going right now.
UNTIL TODAY I HAVE NOT HEARD OR SEEN A GREAT DRUMMER LIKE PAULINA, ABLE TO PLAY COMPLICATED LINES AND SING AT THE SAME TIME AND I CONSIDER THAT PAULINA IS AT THE LEVEL OF COMPOSITION DUE TO HER GREAT NUMBER OF PRODUCTION AND QUALITY AT THE LEVEL OF THE ELDERLY LIKE PAUL McCARTNEY, TIME WILL SHOW IT
It was a late decision by Pau to stream this show on Instagram from her phone. Just before the beginning of the show she does a brief intro telling her followers what's coming up. Because it was recorded on her phone, behind the speakers, you don't hear the other instruments or the vocals clearly, but it was meant to show her drumming anyway.
The Warning aren’t simply just “modern rock”…. You hear influences from most era and style of “rock” in each of their songs. There’s definitely a heavy influence of Millennial POP, but you can hear a lot of 80’s and 90’s in there as well. Their Spanish only songs actually feel somewhat 70’s, even. Pau is nothing short of a stick of dynamite…….. unassuming and small, until you light the fuse. Then, watch out… Just a MONSTER on that little kit! Pretty incredible voice, too!
Check out The Warnings U-Tube video from 2014. The band does a cover of Metallica's "Enter Sandman." They were all just kids. But the first thing I noticed was the way Pau was banging those skins for such a young kid. I was very impressed. I knew if she continued to learn, and the band continued to perform together Pau would become a great drummer. If you notice her drum playing style today, she hasn't changed from when I first saw the bands video' 2014. "YES, I DO THINK IT'S A GREAT THING!!!! Keep pounding those drums Pau!!!!
What I noticed a few year ago is that Pau never plays over her head. She will master a technique before we ever see her use it. Her smoothness comes from this. She is 100% comfortable with everything she does on the kit. And she knows well in advance where she is going so, she can be into the groove completely all the while being animated, theatrical, and throw in changes that you can easily miss if you aren't paying attention. If she ever throws in her cross-over skill, I think I'll stop breathing!
There have been some really good “Pau cam” videos on this tour, and watching her close up there is more going on than you can hear in the average mix, ghost notes and other subtle hits. I think she uses her size to her advantage sometimes-she can’t reach far but can move really fast.
I dint even know that much about drums , and the very 1st song I heard a few weeks ago from these girls was brilliant..tge drums stood out in a good way and seemed to be beyond your basic drummer and now ive listen to most of there songs the drummers technique and energy is just brilliant. She has a beautiful voice also ..I love how heavey and hard she plays .
Great reaction video. Tbh while most of the technical terms went straight over my head, your appreciation of Pau didn't. It was great getting insight from someone who really knows their stuff.
Hope this comes across OK. She drums pretty much exactly the same as I do . Same chops same mind set . Only, she's a million light years better . I found it quite strange to hear someone drumming like me, but done properly! What a great performance . I can learn a lot from this . Peace and love brother ✌️ 🧡
It’s a bucket list item to stand in front of a stage when the power of Pau is unleashed, coupled to Ale’s bass. If you get the chance, go. You have been Warned.
Watch Paulina playing her drums covering the Metallica song titled Atlas Rise. She put so much into the song that I think it is amazing that she was able to finish it.
I always appreciate people who know about something (drumming, singing, guitar, what have you) giving their analysis and putting into words what it is that I can just sense or feel :) Back when I started getting into The Warning I kept gushing about Paulina, despite not knowing much at all about drumming I just had total respect and awe about her, there was just that 'something'. Nowadays I'm a big fan of all three of them for different reasons, they all have their strengths in my eyes and ears but my respect for Paulina in regards to her skills in anything she does remains the same, my focus has just shifted more to her singing, because damn is she good at emoting and that rasp and pure emotion in her voice, holy! Their biggest strength though, in my view, is performing live and making their material shine even brighter live. As long as they keep having fun they'll keep shining bright! Having seen them a lot of times by now I still want more, and my only regret is not having gotten to hear some of my favorite songs by them live :)
I have heard Pau say that the band's in-ear plays a 1/16 note shaker click track (or at least hers does...perhaps they all have a different click track?). She says it has been really helpful, especially on the slower songs, which I would think Error qualifies. Using a fine-grained click track was promoted by producer David Bendeth in order to lock in the band's timing when they recorded the Error album. I don't know if that track was playing during the Scranton show, but the precision you mentioned is most likely the result of playing to click tracks constantly.
Ian Paice, who was a drumming god before computers were used in music, said that adjusting to playing with click tracks was challenging, but a necessary part of the business.
Andy love your review! Right after the flam/kick flam/kick flam/kick flam/kick FLAM there's a real cool low bass slide her youngest sister Ale does, but you couldn't hear it from the Pau cam! And yes she does have a double kick pedal which actually saved the day when she broke her kick head live in concert and improvised playing the rest of the set with her left foot. True pro! Something similar happened to me, thank God because I have double kick pedal on my Roland TD-6V kit at church, when my master pedal broke during the 1st song of a rockin' praise and worship set one memorable Sunday morning, realizing what had just happened when my pedal broke I swung my right leg over my snare and reached down and moved my hi-hat pedal to the left and played the rest of the service from my slave pedal. No one even noticed the difference. I don't think I could have successfully finished our set with my left foot like Pau did!!!
Suscrito, un gran poder conlleva una gran responsabilidad y la diosa del rock Paulina está mostrando a las nuevas generaciones como hacer rock. Gracias por la reacción. Saludos
Regarding her solid, consistent time, Pau's laptop to the left of her hi-hat is where she triggers a click track for each song, which feeds to the band members' in-ear monitors. Obviously, she and the girls are comfortable with and absolute MASTERS of playing to a click without sounding rigid; they've been doing it live since the beginning. Also, Pau is in charge of programming any backing tracks used live (minimal) marrying them to the particular clicks for the songs. In an interview I saw recently, she said it's quite a time-consuming undertaking to do that programming, but she enjoys it nonetheless.
@@AndrewRooneyDrums as a drummer you might be interested in a video of a drumming Masterclass she did earlier in the year. She goes into how they write their songs and all of the information/data coming to them through the in ear monitors. She actually showed a little of what is on her laptop and talked about the programming. The version of the Masterclass I assume you will want is from The Warning Argentina channel since they added English subtitles. I definitely needed them since my Spanish is very poor and that becomes even more of a problem since Pau speaks very quickly when she switches to Spanish. Just search for Pau Villarreal Xpo Masterclass English and it should come up. Unfortunately my comments stand a good chance of being deleted when I include links.
@@lonelywind3511 I saw that video in my feed and tried to watch it. But for some reason, the subtitles were pretty much hidden at the bottom, and I couldn't adjust to read 'em. As you can imagine, I was REALLY upset to say the least.
@@gregoryvlchek269 A couple of suggestions that may help. 1] Link I used: ua-cam.com/video/GMBy4yS86OY/v-deo.html 2] Temporarily if the text when you select CC is getting cut off try changing the screen resolution. I'm using 1920 x 1080 but I used to have to change it on rare occasions back in the early days of home computers. LOL, it still beat the old keypunch cards I started with.
There's another video out there where this one is spliced into another crowd shot video and the audio touched up a bit so you can see all three girls playing at the same time. Having seen them twice this summer I can tell you that without a doubt (and I'm quoting another reactor here) those toms will rip the shirt right off of you. Not a drummer but I'm a bit confused by your double kick statement. Pau does do some double kick (notably in the song Evolve) and some others. She obviously only has one kick drum so maybe that's what you were talking about. There was one concert this summer where the drum head broke mid-set and I believe she had to use the left foot pedal for the rest of the set. Someone can clarify that story for me.
I remember the same interview but forget the actual concert. The pedal itself broke and it was early in the set so she had to reorient her brain on the fly to play that part with her other foot. I remember it was during their extensive US tour and she talked about it during their little between show (before and after mini videos) where her hip was hurting because she had to play in a weird position.
I'd suggest the song when Pau's drum teacher took over (8/29/22) while Pau Sang and Fronted the band (which she is total capable of doing) but there really isn't a good drum angle of that show/song (as far as I know).
@@AndrewRooneyDrums I'll post the 2 links I have: This is shot from the back of the crowd and looks down and it has some view of the drums and maybe the better audio ua-cam.com/video/MEeEKxy8Hlo/v-deo.html while the 2nd one is shot from right at the front of the crowd good view of Pau singing bad view of the drums ua-cam.com/video/aDsGcZ_AbgU/v-deo.html Maybe someone has a different link that is better. They had 2 other guests at the 2 sold out Mexico shows Ale's Bass teacher (who also mentored the band in song writing), and the bassist of Kinky (Mexican Band, somewhat famous, 7 X Grammy Nominee) who is maybe some kind of distant cousin (their last name is very common in that part of Mexico). They aren't drummers so no links ;)

I believe that would be the best feeling in the world and so satisfying don't you think???? Man I even get emotional saying this.
@@josemorales5117 Well said. Having watched everything they have been doing this on tour. The Mexico City shows where up another level. Well planned out. It is had to believe their tour and record release were delayed by 18 months. But the advantage was the 3 of them spent that time practising in the Warning cave.
She's so solid, with a dark, forbidding feel on this one.
Excellent!
"Unapologetic Rock" fabulous!
That's it Marc!!
Andrew as always you are spot on.
Paulina has tricks but plays in the pocket with power but not overplaying. She would have been a great addition to the Foo Fighters tribute concert for Taylor Hawkins at Wembley Stadium. Maybe they can still get her for the LA show
coming up. Hopefully!
I was thinking the same!
Yeah but I think that drummer's endorsement from the Foo Fighters already went to Nandi Bushell, amazing talent by the way, I'd bet she will be there for the second tribute concert also.
good stuff, glad I saw this and now can now add The Warning to my play list!
So glad to hear that Joshua!
@@AndrewRooneyDrums thanks for all of your content… I watch pretty regularly but didn’t realize until today that I hadn’t subscribed yet! Dialed in now tho.
Love your comments on all things Tool and also el estepario, that dude is really doing some incredible stuff! Cheers 👍🏻
HEHE! 😜
BOOM! So good
Somewhere, I've seen video from when these ladies were VERY young, and the band included their parents. Paulina looked to be about six years old, but you could already see her immense talent behind the drum kit.
Pau’s drumming is incredible. She is a magnificent drummer .She’s better than a lot of drummers out there .
Thank you for promoting support for newer groups, especially The Warning. Great reaction.
Thank you James 🙏
Paulina !!!!!
Even her posture is disciplined.
Brilliant break down, as usual! Pau is a rock star, poet and player.
Thanks for watching!!
Superstar in the making!
Pau is incredible and a joy to watch live. Love your comment about supporting modern rock groups. 🤘😎❤️⚠️
We need to!!
PASSION!
@@AndrewRooneyDrums Denver: ua-cam.com/video/X7byO60k8Q8/v-deo.html
The sound clarity of the drumming in this clip is pretty strong, which might be why it was chosen for reaction over the Denver video. Just a guess.
@@stormcloud5631 Could be, sound is definitely better. Also, they weren't playing Error yet in Denver which could be another. I just like Pau's camera angle better in Denver
Paulina's confidence on the drums is attractive! She's not scared of the drums like some other drummers I know
Confidence is where it's at. Gotta dig in
I enjoyed your reaction, which made it interesting watching the back of a drummer for 7 minutes. Cheers!
Thanks Robert!
Dust to dust live was the first vid I made on the warning! 🇲🇽🙌
Absolutely love their no-gimmicks rock!
Me too!!
You said that the toms sound thunderous. Pau has said that she uses toms one size larger when performing live to give a bigger sound.
LOVE IT
She used to be all arms and legs everywhere if you look at old stuff like the Ted talk session, but now she is so much more economical in her approach.
Tasteful fills. Not too much. Not sloppy. Standard in theory but very effective.
The drumming out of this world
Great reaction/analysis. She is a very solid drummer. Thanks Andrew.
Thanks Don! Really enjoy her playing
I love this little powerhouse drummer. Pau is so much fun to watch, love the Pau cam. More of it.
UNTIL TODAY I HAVE NOT HEARD OR SEEN A GREAT DRUMMER LIKE PAULINA, ABLE TO PLAY COMPLICATED LINES AND SING AT THE SAME TIME AND I CONSIDER THAT PAULINA IS AT THE LEVEL OF COMPOSITION DUE TO HER GREAT NUMBER OF PRODUCTION AND QUALITY AT THE LEVEL OF THE ELDERLY LIKE PAUL McCARTNEY, TIME WILL SHOW IT
good music is good music no matter what
It was a late decision by Pau to stream this show on Instagram from her phone.
Then, watch out…
Just a MONSTER on that little kit!
Yes I need to check that one out!
What a treat this is. Always have fun with your The Warning reactions videos. :)
What a band!
The "FLAME KICK COMBO IS PAU'S TRADEMARK. Nobody does it better!!!!
LOVE IT
Paulina is a beast 💪 behind the kit
Flame Kick combo plus bass slide!!
Magic!
Andrew smile says It all😂😂

Great reaction video. Tbh while most of the technical terms went straight over my head, your appreciation of Pau didn't. It was great getting insight from someone who really knows their stuff.
Thank you! 🙏
'unapologetic rock' i like that

No solo es muy linda, su técnica es excepcional 🤘🏼🇧🇴🥁
Lovely breakdown of exceptional talent. I'd add-as others have-that this crazy talented lady can sing lead vocals while doing this too!😊
THE AMAZING THING SHE IS SINGING ALONG. yaaaaaaaaaY
“Unapologetic rock” - perfect!
YUP!
She does use a double kick peddle when she needs to. Amazing👍❤🤘
YUP!
Pau is using doble kick drum at the end of the second song when the ad came in. Good reaction!!.
Thanks for the info!
Great style Springy. Rock solid pocket and chops 🥁👌
It’s a bucket list item to stand in front of a stage when the power of Pau is unleashed, coupled to Ale’s bass. If you get the chance, go. You have been Warned.
😂Funny and very instructional video, thanks from Mexico.
Gracias Victor! 🇲🇽
Watch Paulina playing her drums covering the Metallica song titled Atlas Rise. She put so much into the song that I think it is amazing that she was able to finish it.
Super.reaction thanks suport the warning 🤘
Thank you Pedro!!
Already a legend at 22
I always appreciate people who know about something (drumming, singing, guitar, what have you) giving their analysis and putting into words what it is that I can just sense or feel :) Back when I started getting into The Warning I kept gushing about Paulina, despite not knowing much at all about drumming I just had total respect and awe about her, there was just that 'something'.
Well said!
These are real deal rockers and they shine live :)
Nice info! Thanks Chuck!!
Timing is explained in her Masterclass:
ua-cam.com/video/GMBy4yS86OY/v-deo.html
From a drum teacher to another teacher
Ian Paice, who was a drumming god before computers were used in music, said that adjusting to playing with click tracks was challenging, but a necessary part of the business.
She is singing the song with her drums!
YES!
The world's best rock band--The Warning.
what you didn't hear was little sister Ale's humongous bass slide.. flam-kick, flam-kick, flam-kick, bass slide it's ROCK & ROLL BAYBAY!!!
Awesome info Roger!
Good point. Real art to playing with a click and making it groove/feel natural.
Well said Gregory
@@gregoryvlchek269 That's odd, can you describe the issue in more detail? Subs are supposed to be adjustable in the settings.
@@gregoryvlchek269 A couple of suggestions that may help.
1] Link I used: ua-cam.com/video/GMBy4yS86OY/v-deo.html
2] Temporarily if the text when you select CC is getting cut off try changing the screen resolution. I'm using 1920 x 1080 but I used to have to change it on rare occasions back in the early days of home computers. LOL, it still beat the old keypunch cards I started with.
She is a Genius ⚡
She also uses the double kick in Sinister Smiles to great effect
@@Amaranthine1000 Copper Bullets too.
And the epic ending of Dull Knives
I remember the same interview but forget the actual concert. The pedal itself broke and it was early in the set so she had to reorient her brain on the fly to play that part with her other foot. I remember it was during their extensive US tour and she talked about it during their little between show (before and after mini videos) where her hip was hurting because she had to play in a weird position.
I'd suggest the song when Pau's drum teacher took over (8/29/22) while Pau Sang and Fronted the band (which she is total capable of doing) but there really isn't a good drum angle of that show/song (as far as I know).
OMG that sounds awesome
