This was great. I’d love to see an online match or two at the end of these training sessions just to see the real-time application of the practice. Good stuff!
The problem is that you can't really choose the tracks you play online, so he could potentially have to play for hours just for that one or two races :/ But I think that's okay, it's going to be something cool to look forward to on his next videos!
Liked the new video style! :) a couple things that could be cool to see in the future: 1. A couple online races on the track before you learn them, and then a couple after. It would be really fun to see how much your improvements affect the mode you want to use them in! 2. Idk if this is always an option, but showing the WR on screen or it’s ghost while you’re doing some runs could be cool!
The world record would definitely just run away from me instantly, which is why I didn't show it. But I'll consider this for the next one and see how it goes!
@@Shortcat321I learnt a neat trick on Tick Tock Clock that might even allow you to save some time. Instead of tricking at the end of those gears and getting a lot of airtime, let go of the gas for a bit when you're in the air, then trick a second time and gain another boost! It saves quite a bit of time each time and it's also the reason why the now WR doesn't trick off the gears normally, but stays in between the gears even when tricking.
This format gels well with your commentary- plus I love time trial mode! Maybe end with an online race to display what you learned along with your review of your best time? Also you could up the bgm in your unedited best time so it's that much more hype :o
Always looking forward to your videos every week! And getting to see a pro and how they practice on a track they're not good at is such a welcome guide on how to practice gaming imo
Just now discovered this video after starting playing the game this March 2024! I do love these videos. So much learning! You are very good at explaining what you're doing and your thought process (I'm binge watching the whole channel). Please, if you see this, tell me there are more that are not on the playlist, or if you intend to record more of this format.
All your videos are both entertaining and educational (in terms of Mario Kart lol) but this one was specifically really informative and made me want to go practice tracks more myself. I'd love to see you do more time trial practice videos. Hell, even on tracks you're good at because I just feel like I gained a lot more insight on this track from watching you pull this off. Also sorry for not subscribing until I already watched about 30 of your videos lmao but I'm here now so we're good
I absolutely love time trial content, not many MK8DX UA-camrs post about their personal time trials so I’d love to see you to make progress on time trials. You’re pretty decent at the track, but I highly recommend you do 3ds Rainbow Road next, it’s such a technical track and lots of fun if you know how to run it perfectly!
I love this video! It's nice to see someone breaking down the WR and slowly getting better through practice. I'd love to see more videos along these lines
I really liked this video style! I think it's cool that you're able to practice and get down the WR techniques as quickly as you did. I would absolutely be delighted to see more videos of this format in the future, whether with OG tracks or with wave 5. Whatever you decide, I still love your content :)
The satisfaction of the mini turbo sound effects and just watching the overall speed with skill progression on this course makes it more than worth it, definitely perfect. GGs :D
I appreaciate you showing all the attempted tries to get your shortcuts and tricks etc. I can learn from you and actually feel better about my mistakes as well. Thank you
i feel like for these style videos a more edited down version as opposed to the online videos would be nice, and then as someone else pointed out it would be super cool to see you use the track online at the end, great video!
I’m so glad I found you, honestly you’re the reason I’ve recently took the time to try and get really good at Mario kart and you’re def my favorite Mario kart channel ever
Please make more of these practice videos! Resources like this are invaluable for learning and improving MK8DX skills, and it's not everyday the average viewer gets to see the practicing process of a more advanced player.
Yeah i really like this type of video. Your content got me into time trialling so it's fun to see you go through a similar process, it was a very entertaining video throughout!
Good video as always, only thing missing is the sense of stakes or narrative that is inherent to competitive play. Framing your content around goals or progression (hitting x trick consistently or reducing time with each run) could give the video more stickiness to keep more casual viewers engaged like with your main content
I really liked this kind of vid! I mostly play older Mario Karts, so while I enjoy the worldwides/online race videos I can't get that much from them as a player. This kind of video is you learning the track at the same time that we the viewer are, so I ended up enjoying it a lot more!
Love this new format! I feel like us viewers will be learning of and with you! Also bro literally had a nearly perfect race and called it “pretty bad” 💀
Love this kind of video a lot!! Getting tips from a pro is one thing, but seeing that pro practicing and pointing out their own weaknesses is extremely insightful too!

really cool video idea, this with an in application video on the end for other tracks would be really cool. i never feel like learning optimal lines but you make it entertaining
I think this is a neat video idea! It's a nice change of pace and I love the commentary with it For future videos maybe putting video/player credits when you're showing previous world records I think would be a little useful so I know who's playing (and gives credits to the WR players as well)
I bet everybody knows how good shortcat is, but just like everybody the maps that aren’t popular people aren’t good at them so just understand how good of a Mario kart player shortcat is
I love this!! I'd love more!! I think though it'd have been great to see you test out the practice when you started being happy with the time and more confident to do a multiplayer match afterwards, sort of to see if it made a difference or something. Regardless really entertaining. And I felt like I was learning with you?! so cool. I could see myself watching these to help breakdown word records strats too because your eye catches quick moves a lot better than I do
I actually really like teddy buggy + sponge tires, which I mentioned in my last 2 long videos. Sponge tires loses 1 mini turbo compared to rollers, but also loses 2 handling. This means I can charge mini turbos without turning too sharply, and on some turns its actually better!
Do more of these for sure, I am bad and much prefer watching time trials to playing them lol Edit: I know it’s a hassle, but the video would really feel complete if you raced it at least once online or with bots. Show how much it’s improved, and where you might want to deviate
Would absolutely love to see more of these kinds of vids. Aaaaand if you're practicing this track I guess that leaves me no excuse, I'll have to get a ghost on this track too now lol.
