Definitely a workable solution. I traveled to Thailand and bought a cheap knife there with the intention to leave it behind. I accidentally packed it and it made it back in my suitcase. I think a Milwaukee fastback with the disposal razor would be a good option too. Great topic. Just buy a new blade when you arrive.
Great idea!! Though I've heard others say the TSA has started cracking down even in the blade less utility knives. I cannot confirm it for myself though.

Warning: the keyrings that are "flat looking" has failed on me & have caught onto something while on my belt & all my keys literally went flying. i had to hunt down one by one, throw the flat ones away. Use the silver rounded keyrings instead. The flat looking split rings use at your own risk...
I have yet to meet a split ring that I like. Now you have given me another reason to hate them.
Good thought process and video. I used to travel more and had it down to a science, but now i'm not sure what tsa has in effect. Don't forget to think outside of the box.

you can put knives in your checked luggage, but once airlines started charging for bags, everyone started pushing the limits of what they can carry on. When I travel, I can get close to a weeks worth of clothes in a carry on bag unless I'm taking stuff for work. Good multi-tool option just came out from Nextool is TSA compliant. Small size and plier based with no blade. Another good option is the numerous folding utility knives that are popular EDC now. You would just have to pick up some cheap blades at your destination, but easy to find.
I'll have to check out that Nextool. I have heard others say that The TSA is now cracking down on utility knives, even when they are not containing a blade. I cannot confirm this for myself though.
I id not see the Power Torque 9 Piece 1/4 Inch - GM4315. It is IMO the best TAS compliant EDC product. It can fix a number of items.

To answer the questions posed at the beginning of the video, I don’t travel for work, but I do travel by air if possible every so often to see family members spread across the country. I leave my obvious “no-nos” at home when I do and I have done it often enough that I’ve reached the point where I actually run a TSA-compliant EDC load-out when I go and then just buy replacements for the obvious no items when I get to my destination or along the way. Admittedly in the past, I’ve snuck my share of not-quite compliant items onboard, but the more awareness I gain on how to work around the rules, the less I tend to carry with me on my person on a flight. As to the other question, while I myself don’t really travel by air often enough to warrant it maybe, I would be interested in seeing a few dedicated videos in maybe a series about TSA-compliant EDC items and ideas if possible.

@@SurvivingtheDaily I manage it by primarily carrying items that are “permissively” disguised as something else. For example, I carry a very non-standard looking tactical pen that is a brass bolt-action locked ballpoint style pen that is capped on the butt end to hide the spike. Haven’t ever had it even looked at sideways before. I sometimes have also carried a stun gun that is permissively disguised as a cell phone. I usually carry it deep pocket in my carry on if/when I do, but have never had it found to be suspect either. Generally speaking, I tend to carry any item that might be considered suspect deep pocket in my carry on bag under other items and have never had a problem. I started doing that even with things like a typical tactical pen and made it through, but the more I became aware of so-called “permissive carry” concepts, the more I started creating and running a more TSA-compliant EDC setup with certain permissive carry items that I felt were must-haves for various reasons on a public transportation medium.
