- Welcome to my version of “The End Of The World” written by composer Arthur Kent and lyricist Sylvia Dee. They wrote the song for American singer Skeeter Davis, and her recording reached the top five on four different charts, including No. 2 on the main Billboard Hot 100. It spawned many cover versions.
Davis recorded her version with sound engineer Bill Porter on June 8, 1962, at the RCA Studios in Nashville, produced by Chet Atkins, and featuring Floyd Cramer.

Hi Neville, beautifully played cover of this classic pop song. Your instrumental version is really great! 👍👍Here in Sweden the song was a minor hit 1962 or -63 and also a big hit 1966, a version with a Swedish band.

Mike Wallace was one of many guys from England who started a career in Sweden. Some other bands where Ken Levy and the Phantoms, Deejays and of course Emile Ford - but without the Checkmates.
I don't think you will recognize the Caretakers' version - but maybe you remember the version by Herman's Hermits...😂...or maybe another of hundreds of covers of this song...
