I love Spam, can't stand Treet. Treet has this weird sweet chemical flavor that just doesn't seem right. Thanks for the heads up on Great Value, I will consider picking up some of that.
One of my buddies says TREET makes a good catfish bait. Next time I buy, I might grab a can of Great Value, but I'm definitely going to be buying SPAM %25 less sodium. My wife and I made a video comparing SPAM vs SPAM Less Sodium and SPAM LITE. ua-cam.com/video/WiGOWefjjDg/v-deo.htmlsi=0Kj-a_-Y4zYO_cGA
It took me seven decades to try Spam and I'm so happy I did. After watching some Spam videos, I decided to try it. I've fallen in love with the Bacon Spam and will be buying more. Had it with eggs and used some to make split pea soup. Love it!!
Spam is cheap by us, it's $2.39 a can all flavors. the store brands have been higher even Walmart. Give me a Diet Coke. I Do not like 99% of the beer that is made here in the US. Today is my Birthday I'm 70 today (10/19/23). I love SPAM,
The odd thing to me is that SPAM was sort of considered a "poor man's meat," back in the day. But even at $4 it would be $5.33 per pound. Even if we said the generic ones were $2.50, that would be $3.33 per pound. Higher than a pound of ground beef, fresh chicken thighs, or even pork steaks per pound. A poor man now would be wise to avoid SPAM due to cost alone. lol
People used to say, oh you poor fella, having to eat SPAM, like you were eating dog food or something.... Makes me worry about the future. Viva La SPAM!!!
To me it’s a special treat once in a while for that reason. I spent time in Hawaii in the military. So once in a while I make fried spam and eggs with white rice. That dish is eaten a lot in Hawaii…..it’s even on the McDonald’s menu 😉
I mean clearly this couldn't be, it's ridiculous. So I looked it up and I see it, the spam morning platter. You have some nerve coming on the Internet and telling the truth! For shame!(thanks for your service!)
Thank you for taking the time to review these canned meats. You are correct spam and great value have same flavor profile but different texture. The great value’s texture firms up when fried on both sides and is delicious for around 1/2 the price as spam I will buy great value every time. For all you prep people you can actually double up your stock with great value for around 1/2 the price of spam and I do not think you will be disappointed.
I 100% agree with your statements. The Great Value is definitely the best bang for the buck. You said it much better that I could have, my hat is off to you sir. Thank you.

Frankly, I don't mind paying a couple of bucks extra for the real Spam. It should be in every emergency pack for everyone in the event of....whatever!! A good backup staple to keep on hand for sure. Thanks for the comparison...I appreciate it.
This would have been a great video if you'd taken your time and cooked them all as if you were going to serve them. Put a camera on something for a timelapse. Exactly how much fat cooks out as they are browned. Texture once browned on both sides. Taste is subjective but anyone who has cooked their favorite canned meat much would _see_ the differences in others. I'd suggest doing it again but it's probably not a good idea for you or the dogs.
Right on. I could have done better. I was holding my camera (phone) in one hand and trying to cook and chop with the other. Plus, I was a little nervous as I am new to this. I'm hoping to learn and make better videos in the future. Thanks for watching.

Agreed, I was shocked the first time I bought one of the Great Value cans. I was expecting it to be garbage and throw it away. But I was very pleasantly surprised that I found an alternative to the name brand. About half the cost.
Oh wow.... as an avid griddler, I have to say you're griddle is in disgusting shape. Seriously bro you don't cook on a rusty surface like that. You need to clean your griddle and re-season it Big Time. And I hate to be the one to break this to you but can spam is already cooked. LOL it's not raw.
I know. It's bad, believe it or not, this was done after I spent serious time working on cleaning it. I am not a griddle person (obviously). The Blackstone is not my thing. I kind of just needed an arena for this battle. While I was filming this, I thought the same thing. There is a point in the video when I flip a piece over and you can see how I panned away. Long story short... I hate the Blackstone. And I know SPAM is already cooked.

So impressive! I'd try for thinner more uniform slices... in the name of SCIENCE! The slicing gadget really works. Also it works better to slice "horizontally" for uniform sort of oblong slices, goes in the MUSUBI press!
Anything... For science!!!! But my man!... you have to slice along, or guided by the provided lines. It's the rules, and the rules are important. Hahaha. Thanks for watching & thanks for being a good sport.
Only Spam taste like Spam. All others are either too salty, the texture is different, the ingredients are quality without fillers. Walmart brand although cheap is gross.
I tried it years ago, and I don't remember it being enjoyable, I was almost shocked when I had it this time, because it wasn't bad, it had almost a fruity/apple taste. I might pick it up again. @@OliveDrabAlliancelol, wifey and I both recalled it being nasty but I came across a video of how to cook it and now we both like it and are buying the SPAM to store for SHTF.
Always keep a couple cans in my bounce bag and some dog biscuits, emergency the last thing that will get eaten unless it's an emergency
You have to eat dog food, otherwise, is it even an apocalypse?
Thanks
I love this kind of stuff but clogged arteries got the best of me so I had to quit eating it. Enjoy it while you can for as long as you can!
We made a video comparing SPAM with SPAm Lite and SPAM with less sodium. I will definitely be using the SPAM with less sodium.
Check it out...

Its not meat that clogs arteries, its carbohydrates. Meat is health food.
@@johngalt97 Processed meat isn't though and I literally lived off of it for most of my life.
It's not raw out of the can it's fully cooked
You are correct.
My bad.
Thank you
Frankly, I don't mind paying a couple of bucks extra for the real Spam. It should be in every emergency pack for everyone in the event of....whatever!! A good backup staple to keep on hand for sure. Thanks for the comparison...I appreciate it.
No problem! Me and my dogs were happy to. It's a "ruff" job, but somebody had to do it.
Thank you!
Amazing video
Thank you.
I'm thinking it's just about time for a rematch!
I love Spam enough i can eat it right out of the can by itself
After just pan frying it, that is my 2nd favorite way to eat SPAM.
Thank you
This would have been a great video if you'd taken your time and cooked them all as if you were going to serve them.
Spam is better
WTF! Rust on a Blackstone, take this mans grill away!
Yeah, it's pretty bad.
Thanks
Man after my own heart! great video! love the 32oz that's what I like to drink. The Spam always wins even since the military with eggs. it's a winnner! Be cool
Right on Buddy.
Cheers!
SPAM and eggs are great!
Thanks for watching the video. I'm glad you enjoyed it.
Lovely Spam! Wonderful Spam!

Lovely Spam! (Lovely Spam!)
Lovely Spam! (Lovely Spam!)
Lovely Spam!
Spam, Spam, Spam, Spam!
Awwww yeah.
You know.
My favorite is treetloaf sandwich on seedless rye with ketchup and chips on the side
The Treet is not bad, but SPAM is my favorite. It's probably a Hawaii thing.
Try the Great Value Luncheon Meat from Walmart, you might like it.
@@OliveDrabAlliance definitely will after seeing this!
I LOVE Spam and Great Value Luncheon loaf!!!
Agreed, I was shocked the first time I bought one of the Great Value cans. I was expecting it to be garbage and throw it away. But I was very pleasantly surprised that I found an alternative to the name brand. About half the cost.
thanks for the comparing
Anytime. I will do the dirty work so you don't have to.
Thank you
The real treet is the additional flavors from that rusty grill
Don’t forget about the fat added gob in the can
That is what happens to certain proteins when they are cooked inside of a can.
@@OliveDrabAlliance
It's not canned meat without that gelatin! 😂
Oh wow.... as an avid griddler, I have to say you're griddle is in disgusting shape.
My favorite is the Great value low sodium.
I didn't know they made a low sodium version. I will for sure look for it. We did a video comparing regular spam to the low sodium spam and spam lite. I liked the low sodium spam very much, so I'm looking forward to the great value low sodium version. Thank for the tip!
I remember when spam cost less than a dollar, and I'm not even 30. Go ahead and keep telling me the economy is fine
The SPAM Index.
Ha!
You are correct.
I am very happy with the Walmart (Lower Sodium) knock off
I'm totally going to look for that next time I get to the Walmarts.
Thanks for watching
@@OliveDrabAlliance
I like my Salt but the regular Great Value is a bit salty so the Lower Sodium is better in my opinion.
The SPAM LITE might be a little "Lite" on taste, the lower sodium stuff will definitely be in our shopping cart moving forward.
I don't know why I got this video recommended to me but I'm glad I did. It was a treet (sorry).
I see what you did there.
Thanks for watching.
I will gladly take Great Value Luncheon over them all, I still like Spam. Definitely do not like Treet.
Right on, in looking forward to picking up some Great Value Lower Sodium next time I am at Wally-World
I have had Spam and Treet.
Try The Great Value. You might like it.
Bryan is the best
Bryan is alright, he's kind if a snitch though.
Thank you
Wow that Blackstone is covered in rust i wouldn't eat a tbone steak off that griddle.
You're not comparing like we like spam is not luncheon meat that is chopped ham with pork.
😂this is great!! Needs more screen time of the dogs
Only Spam taste like Spam. All others are either too salty, the texture is different, the ingredients are quality without fillers. Walmart brand although cheap is gross.
Twice the price Spam is not worth it.
I'm sticking with Great Value
That Song “Kicks Ass” 👍🏽❤️🇺🇸
Thanks, I was trying to class it up a bit.
Broil it in the oven with ketchup or bbq sauce. Grew up on it.
You really can't go wrong.
Treet is the best
There are a lot of hard core Treet fans out there. I would have never thought so.
Thank you for watching
Nobody noticed how rusty his griddle is?
Oh, they noticed.
You might say, I've been "grilled" for it.
Thanks for watching
I like Treet the best.
I tried it years ago, and I don't remember it being enjoyable, I was almost shocked when I had it this time, because it wasn't bad, it had almost a fruity/apple taste. I might pick it up again. I've got high blood pressure and I need to drop some weight, so I can't have it very often, but I'll TREET myself again.
Cooked salami is great .good quality...
I've only had "Oscar Mayer" style salami. Someday I would like to try a a fancy salami.
Try bacon flavor great value you will love it.
I didn't know they had that, I will look for it.
So the Great value scores better but spam wins 🤦🏻🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I know... totally not fair.
Yeah, I don't know what happened
The best part of this video was the fat boy Miller ✌️👍
You are correct!!!
Good old spam. Spam ,eggs fried tators
I just got home from a double shift & that sounds great!
I'm too tired to cook though.
Thanks for watching
Well sampling all those different flavors of pork fat will take several cans of mouthwash
That probably my next video.
lost me with anti American beer
It's the Champagne of Beers & champagne is French.
all of it make you take greasy pile dumps
I don't know about all that. I guess it probably has different effects on different people.
