I've lived in Thailand for 10 years, in Bangkok, moved from CA. That law is "lese majeste". An Australian man was sentenced to 15 years in jail for throwing a bucket of paint at a photo of the King. This was several years ago, when the King was Rama IX. The current King is Rama X. I've told my friends: "I won't even think bad things about the King." Love Thailand.
When me and whatever girl I'm with at the time talk about the king we both tone it down naturally and whisper. Even if we're the only ones for 100 miles.
Pretty violent Muay Thai kickboxing in Myanmar. Damn! My friend Eric Uresk from Long Island, N.Y. was training MMA at Alliance, San Diego and then he went off the grid in Thailand. He's back coaching and stuff, but he went neck deep into the Thai Kickboxing. His wrestling is legendary. I trained with him a couple of times. We sparred for one round MMA. Somebody was going to get hurt in my friend's gym, so we stopped. Really great guy. Eric must be pretty awesome now. Muay Thai is a great martial art for any wrestler to learn. You learn distance and you can hide that shot really nice if you learn some Muay Thai. Eric's been Jitzing for I don't even know how long, but he's black in Judo, and he might have been brown Jitz when I sparred him. I was afraid to take him down, I remember that. I was trying to stay standing. Eric Uresk is black in Ju Jitsu by now. I know he fell in love with Muay Thai, I did too when I studied it in Queens, NY. Eric didn't let me stay standing; he forced the issue with some good punches. I bet he'd be a handful now after all the Muay Thai. No thanks, I'm retired for good. Hannibal is a really funny guest. It's really fun to hear him goofing on the show. "The music in my head is Drrrr da da do... My walk is more like DURR DU DUDER TERT TERT TA TA" . 🤣

why it is a big deal? I am Thai and when we (or all Thai born) were 18, we all had to join army for 1 year. It is mandatory for all Thai born. They taught us many things and it was hard but worth it. America should add this in their high school and they will have less people who gets offended easily or woke nonsense.
Why was that the case? I'm a Thai person who been living in U.S. for a while now and I'm just curious as to why some westerners prefer to live in Thailand.
@@trinkitisoontornpong7689 Pikebass hit the nail on the head. I lived a nice lifestyle there, and most things are inexpensive compared to here. heavy meddle ok so first let me ask you how is life in Thailand in general? And do u recommend it for someone who wants to go there and start a new life and become a legit hardcore fighter and a martial artist? And how deep is the culture?
@@imawarrior313 oooh that was a tough question. For me. But what I do know is that it's easier to get a permanent or at least stay long if you do muay thai seriously. I'm here illegally. Nothing I recommend. But I have friends from Sweden who has done the proper paperwork and opened gyms. Concentrated on boxing. Just devoted muay thai lovers. No competitions or anything like that. Pretty successful. If you are younger and have the ability to fight you can and will be popular as long as you do it without just trying to stay here long. I live on a pretty small island, Koh Lanta and here are a few legit boxing "camps" and a couple of successful "white" fighters or "farangs" as all foreigners are called. For me... I'm 49 and bought 6 scooters and 50% of a restaurant with no experience at all. When the "Thai magic" goes away its like a beautiful place in hell. But yes. You can do it. The one thing is that everything and everyone is corrupted here and everything cost more than it really should. But with that being said... I, of cause, don't know everything. If you try to find answers and ask 10 different people you'll get 10 different answers. Especially from Thai people. Everything is possible here with money. And if you get a foot in the door and make some friends you can absolutely do it. 100%. I wish I was young and could do what you want to do. Come here and just do it. But I don't know how things work in bigger towns and provinces. Like Bangkok and pattaya. But here on koh lanta its very possible. If you do it, write a message and please let me know. When the borders open again you should do it because everyone needs money here right now and would be more than happy to take you in😊
I cannot wait to travel to train there! I'm looking to train with Trainer Gae in Bangkok and the Santai in chiang mai! Just waiting for the borders to open up
6:49 There are laws that make any criticisms of the Thai monarchy a crime. I don't know for sure, as I've never tested it out, but I'm pretty sure that if a foreigner (farang) says something that's just critical of the monarchy, they are more understanding, as they probably don't know about the laws, but not 100% sure about that either. The old king that passes away not too long ago seemed like he had a lot of love and support from most Thais, but his son that has taken over after he passed away seems like he might not be liked as much (trying to be careful about what I say too, as I live here). I heard that a lot of people wanted one of the past kings daughter's to take over instead of his son who's the king now, but for how it is here, the power is supposed to go to a male heir. I know that she has been very active in humanitarian efforts, so I think she could have been a great person to be the one who took over as the primary within the royal family, but even though they have a king and queen here, they don't really have much power or say over things. Kind of like England, and other countries who also still have a monarchy, in addition to having a prime minister/president/etc. The new king has some rumors going around. That's all I'll say, as I don't want to get in trouble, as I don't know the laws here for sure, and don't want to be forced to leave over something stupid like that. Thailand is an amazing country, with great people, the majority of whom are very kind, friendly, nice and easy going. There's assholes everywhere in the world, but from my personal experiences living in Chiang Mai for about 13 years total now, and traveling to a lot of other places throughout Thailand, I've seen that most Thais are kind, friendly and happy compared to other countries I've lived in and been to. Everything here seems easy going, compared to where I grew up and came from in the states. They seem to care more about happiness and wellbeing over profits and personal gains, which I like a lot. Although, compared to when I first came here, back in '06, it has changed a bit and things aren't as slow, easy going and carefree as they were then. But compared to other places, it's still a lot more relaxed and go with the flow (sabai-sabai) than other places I've been to.
I love Thailand! I think the people are so happy is because of religion but not sure. An amazing place that everyone should go and visit. I was on the freeway once in Bangkok and the King was on the otherwise of the freeway and everything was shut down as he drove by. What was that movie the King of Siam with Yule Brenner I think? Ka Somia is freaking off the charts may be one the most beautiful places on the planet.
You need to spend some more time in Thailand Joe. I lived there for 12 years. "Land of Smiles" is a marketing slogan. Thai people are friendly to foreigners if and ONLY if there is a chance to separate you from some of your money. Think tourists. Thais generally do not like foreigners or anyone who isn't Thai. Not even Cambodians. If you live there and get to know them, this becomes very evident.
Joe forgot to mention the most brutal detail of Lethwei!!! That knockouts don’t end the fights!!! They can get knocked out several times and still continue! 🤤
Hey guys, I'm a little old and out of it, could someone please help me? Is "training Muay Thai" the new slang comedians use for buying trans prostitutes?
The KEY to a roundhouse kick is to synchronize the pivot of the non-kicking foot with the 'snap' of the kicking leg... meaning the extension of the lower leg. The pivot of the non-kicking leg is done on the ball of the foot and the toes point backwards on the planted foot. Black belt TKD.

Guys, do you think Tawanchai in 8 years old and now he’s 25 are different? You can see some videos, its literally almost the same. It’s a fighting instinct that specifically person that everyone has their own. If you have reflective, heart, or kind of stuff for being a good fighter that will give some chance for a boy to continue practicing the muay thai. It is really not all about money. Almost everyone in my village got 5-10 muay thai fights when they were a kid sometimes without any practice before they’re just want to see a talent for being a fighter. After that it’s a business.

No thanks, I'm retired for good.

why it is a big deal? I am Thai and when we (or all Thai born) were 18, we all had to join army for 1 year. It is mandatory for all Thai born. They taught us many things and it was hard but worth it. America should add this in their high school and they will have less people who gets offended easily or woke nonsense.

I stayed in Thailand for 4 years, and the worst thing was coming back to America..
Why was that the case? I'm a Thai person who been living in U.S. for a while now and I'm just curious as to why some westerners prefer to live in Thailand.
He is trolling.
trin K. For Americans it’s really cheap to live in Thailand. Americans can basically fuck around and enjoy the simple life while there.
@@trinkitisoontornpong7689 Pikebass hit the nail on the head. I lived a nice lifestyle there, and most things are inexpensive compared to here. I lived in a nice high rise condo that's almost cheap as my property taxes, and if I wanted to grab a beer at the local Family Mart or 7-11 at 1AM, I could simply walk there without feeling threatened. While my neighborhood is nice, I would never walk around here at 1AM. And of course, it's pretty easy to find a nice girlfriend, no not a whore (not that there's anything wrong with whores) with a nice family and decent education. heavy meddle ok so first let me ask you how is life in Thailand in general?
When the borders open again you should do it because everyone needs money here right now and would be more than happy to take you in😊
That musical walk bit 😂

How is Joe not in tears when hannibal says “I had to see the main event” 5:40

Hey guys, I'm a little old and out of it, could someone please help me? Is "training Muay Thai" the new slang comedians use for buying trans prostitutes?
Why would anyone need to go to a foreign country for that? Plus, you get sponsors for that stuff if you do it in the US (if you're already famous)
Muay thai has a different hip rotation on the roundhouse, not really a snap kick

Maybe next 30, 60 fights (~15 years old) still be a student in school at the same time. If you really love it that can be a occupation, got 200 fights, gig jobs, be a trainer. Sorry about my english is not good.
