    Hey Buddy ! Finally getting caught up on my videos haha loved this trip, your editing and narration is getting so much better, I really enjoyed this one. Food looked delicious too ! So maybe I missed it but the Bears in your area, are they black bears or Grizzlies? I know California used to have Grizzlies...... but I'm not sure about New Mexico... Loved the drone shots too, that "follow me" feature is so awesome, I wish I had that haha
    Cheers buddy, hope all is good with you and your family.

      Hey man. We no longer have grizzly bears in New Mexico. We used to have them up until about 1930. All we have are black bears in our woods. And this particular range there is a lot of them that live here. Glad you enjoyed the video buddy. Take care and enjoy. Family is doing well and growing.

    Manzano Man! Great video as always! I have a new video uploading tomorrow morning of Jake and I mini biking in the Manzano Mountains near 4th of July Campground as the leaves were changing in October! We too stumbled upon some really fresh bear dung like we spooked it away with our bikes just before we stopped to hang out....We all need to go camping and filming in the spring next year!!!!

One of my scariest bear encounters happened in this mountains. I’ll save that story for a time we camp and enjoy some campfire stories. Glad the bear didn’t stick around to check you guys out lol. Another great ATV outing in beautiful Land of Enchantment ! I live in Colorado and ATVing is horrible fees and only a hand full of AtV land use.Everywhere you go most land is private and not to mention heavily populated “atv bumper to bumper traffic. I'm planning a late November trip to Gila Forest this year. North of Silver City somewhere. Maybe off Rd 59. Do they close all the forest roads at a certain time or just when a heavy snow comes thru and it becomes dangerous.

    • @ManzanoManATVAdventures
      @ManzanoManATVAdventures  Рік тому

      The mountains generally open through November but will most likely close by January 2024. My best advice is to call the Gila Forest Service for advice on road closures. I need to get into the Gila and explore within this range. It is a good part of the state to check out. Safe travels and enjoy my friend.

This was actually an Oak Berry patch that attracts bears. But you can bet I had my firearm within reach at all times.
      I got mine off of Amazon as well. Thankfully it has been a decent stove. I remember seeing your get all crazy in the film and I thought of mine right away. I believe I spent 30 bucks or near that.

      Glad you enjoyed the video! I was in the far north areas of the Manzano Mountain. There is a section of trails that take you into far in and I have never really camped or had a good look around yet. It really is nice back there and the trail keep heading in some more from where I was. Thanks for watching.

    • @ManzanoManATVAdventures
      @ManzanoManATVAdventures  Рік тому +1

      Unfortunately since New Mexico is a dominate desert mountain setting all the rivers and creeks are focused in the Northern parts and Southwestern parts of our mountains. These parts will run seasonably with creeks when the snow melts off the higher terrain.

      I would love to ride up in Colorado and the Carson National Forest. You're going to love getting out there and exploring by ATV. Since I have gotten into it I have had a great time.I love that you can take yourself a little farther than the average jeep due to the smaller vehicle profile an ATV has. I hope to hit Carson later this year before winter sets in.

    Awesome video Rueben! It looks so clean and crisp, great camera work too. I really liked the effect when the drone was in front of you and then you went past it and it followed behind you. I don’t know how you get the other effects of the camera panning and following you when you are camping alone. Hmm. How are you liking the Grizzly buddy? Anyway I had a brand new Grandson born this week! Yay! Take care man.👍🏼☮️

    • @ManzanoManATVAdventures
      @ManzanoManATVAdventures  Рік тому +1

      Congratulations on your new Grandson. Kids are such a blessing and joy in life. For all the follow me shots I am using a new drone called the Skydio. It is designed to follow you using the many sensors it avoid obstacles. I hope to use it in a variety of video settings to bring a new look. As for the camera work following me, I do a bit of editing in post production to trim camera frames to give it a feel as if someone is behind the camera. I am loving the Grizzly and power it has. Its a comfortable ride as well. Thanks for watching my friend. I hope all is well.

    Hey buddy. Just checking in. Grizzly's looking good.
    Wow that's a quick weather change. You have your ATV box packed pretty tight huh?
    Is there much clay in your dirt down there?
    You ever thought about doing a video discussing what you look for in choosing your campsites? Speaking as someone who knows nothing about remote camping. 😊
    What is it with you and being in the midst of the predators, lol. If it's not mountain lions, it's bears! 😂
    Sure are a good cook Ruben!
    Boy that drone did an excellent job capturing that moment with the cattle. Someday I should get a drone.
    Take care Ruben. Talk again soon friend!

      That is my point of view as well. Just make the best of it and roll with the flow. I am using the Skydio 2 drone for follow me shots. It has a ton on sensors to avoid and follow you plus it works well on follow me shots. I still use the DJI Mavic Air 2S drone for flying on certain shots which I used for the morning shot. Thanks for watching buddy.

      Hey man. So what I use is a mid size igloo cooler and a large ice pack. I also made a small mod to my cooler and added a layer of spray foam to insulate the lid more. The other thing I do is freeze my meat so it adds more cooling to the chest. It works out good for an overnight trip in summer. Thanks for watching.

      @stephencostello1483 7 місяців тому

      Yeah, I noticed the trees all had a red mark around them. What was that all about. It’s right where you set up your tent and we’re exploring the bear droppings. Near those wild berries.

    • @ManzanoManATVAdventures
      @ManzanoManATVAdventures  7 місяців тому +1

      I will respond to both comments in this one. It appears as if I was color coordinated. Funny thing is I didn’t put much thought into it all being the same color. Lol. But I will have to tell you riding with blue in the outdoors. Doesn’t look bad against a forest, green color or any background for that matter.
      The red markings is something that the forest service does. I am not exactly sure what they are marking this area out for other than they could potentially be doing thinning in the years to come, or might consider doing a prescribed burn. The area I set up camp was quick considered when the rain would not let up. it was not until everything was set up that I realized it was frequented by bears coming through the area. The berries are a wild Juniper berry that is not very good for consumption but used for cooking with and I believe the Native American used it for medicine type uses. The berry is extremely tart and bitter to taste. But it was a good camp experience to test my Bear awareness and cleanup.
