This was a great review. Not only did I learn how to use my new headphones (the factory supplied instructions are minimal), but I had fun listening to you describe the pros and cons. Thanks.
Hey Aaron@@gearupaaron, I found the Urbanista after a lot of Google searching. I only found your review after I received the headphones and felt like I need to know more about how to use them. Once I had these, I gave my AirPods Pros to my daughter!
@@gearupaaron p.s. I gather from the video and your tags that you have connections with Malaysia and Maine. Small world. So do I (although not as strong as they used to be). Keep up the videos! (I'm in desperate need of a good, cheapish, portable microphone for podcasts. :) )
I have no solar panels. Does that mean I'm ON your Christmas list? Lol. I've been looking forward to this review since you've been posting about it. With a better sound profile, these worlds be worth looking into.
Sure, but I'm like that relative who everyone hates and who doesn't do anything for Christmas. 😂 ... About these headphones, the sound is actually really good for its kind of setup. It's the ANC that's the downer, but hey, no having to worry about battery life is awesome!
Hi Aaron, not sure if I should have commented this here, since I just realized the Miami review is pretty old. Sorry! I posted this there: I'm a musician and I do some video editing for work, but I don't really rely on "accurate," sound all that much when I'm at my PC, TBH. I started with a budget of around $200, looking at the Sennheiser Momentum 3's, and the Audio Technica M50XBT2's. But after stumbling across some really convincing reviews for some cheaper models, I lowered my budget! Not surprised these sound good, I believe they were tuned by [formerly] Sennheiser's Axel Grell. I've been very impressed with what I'm hearing/reading about the Harman Kardon Fly ANC's for around $99, as well as the Urbanista Miamis, which are about the same price. Have you listened to any of the other headphones on my list, and what's your opinion of the sound quality difference? I'm not really too bothered about noise-canceling or a lot of features, just listening for enjoyment, movies, etc. Appreciate it.
Hi Jermaine - I saw both your comments and I'll try to answer both in one reply - lol! If you're just listening to audio without the need for too many mod-cons, then the Audio Technicas would be best. Where are you going to use the headphone primarily?
@@gearupaaronLOL, thanks! And good question. I do keep them on when I'm at the computer for long stretches, working on After Effects or design work as well as just watching tutorials on YT or gaming, so I don't bother everyone in the house. Every once in a while I'll take them out to the store or something. How do you think these compare to the Audio Technicas? Not as much bass, or not as detailed?
PLEASE HELP. I'M VERY INDECISIVE SORRY. I've been trying to decide between the miami ones and the LA ones for 3 days now. Over here the LA ones are $70 more then the Miami ($100). I want the LA ones but the colorways is really irritating. Im really only looking for SQ and Style. Im not picky at all, the extra charge is cool butni really dont care tbh. I just want to know considering the price point, is the LA worth $70 more dollars? The app is cool but i dont really think i see myself actually using it. I just want to use them for everyday listening in my way to work (3 hour commute, 6hours going & back total). The only reason i have bought the LA is cz the colorway is kinda throwing me off but the features ARE good but idk man. Do you you think $70 extra dollars is too much more considering im trying to spend the least i can for the best i can?
hey i hipe you see this but how do you think they are conftqable fo glasses as i need to wear mine constanly as well aa are they any good if you have a small head
hello, in my country the urbanista los angeles and miami both have the same price. what do you think should i choose? who had the better anc ? the better bass? is the solar charging at least good?
Hi Daniel, great questions. The Los Angeles would be the better buy hands down here. They have basically the same innards, so ANC is about the same. Being newer though,, the SQ and NC are still better overall on the LA. And guess what, I haven't had to plug in the Los Angeles to charge since I got them last January! Hope that helps.
Kia Ora, Love your review about these headphones, I realized the earpads are PU/ vegan leather, and for the time being, I reckon it gets deteriorated pretty easily, any luck with the replacement? cheers.
I haven't seen replacements sold at Amazon or eBay, so for now, things are looking bleak there. ...Kia ora to you as well - awesome to have a New Zealander viewer 🤙
Hi, i dont know if you are going to respond or not, but do you think is it good to buy these headphones in 2023? And are the headphones not that comfortable for large heads?
What kind of the solar tech/gadgets do you own? And go!...
Buy the Los Angeles amzn.to/3MCseNQ
i'm thinking about buying these and this video helped me so thanks.
Glad to hear this video helped 👍

Glad you found it useful - that's what GearUP aims for 😁. How did you first find out about the Los Angeles? Hope you're enjoying your new toy!

Try the Zoom H1N - my favorite portable recorder yet. Where are you in ME?

Thanks very much, Raphael 🍻👊

Oooo, I dig the gold ones!
I bought the gold ones too
Thanks for the great review !
Thanks for checking this out, Rich! 🍻

The Los Angeles isn't as warm sounding (if that's your kinda thing), and depending on your head shape, the AT might be more comfortable.

You ought to be fine with these. The clamping force is pretty strong so if you had said that you have a large head, I'd say don't get them.

please what is the difference between this and the miami apart from the solar charging
There's active noise cancellation and wear detection on the LA.
Hi, is it dual-Channel?
You mean, like multipoint? If so, yes it does!

Still one of my favorite headphones, just because it's almost impossible to kill, but definitely not for large noggins. 🎧
@@gearupaaron alright thank you
@@gearupaaron does the noise cancelling actually work?

Buy the Los Angeles here:

I bought these because of the design and the technology. I don’t really care about the ANC performance and the they sound good enough for me
Near infinite battery FTW! 🙌🙌
@@gearupaaron but am returning them because there are tight
Bummer (and totally understand) - the clamping force ain't for everyone. What's next for ya?

Why didn't you cover Bluetooth setup!!!!! ???? Dam bad video
Bluetooth setup is pretty much universally the same, so if you've done it before, it's the same here. No need to beat a dead horse.
did i miss the sound test wtf
Like the ANC test?
