A little bit of both, and as of Soul Calibur IV, since Siegfried is separated from Soul Edge, Inferno, in a body Zasalamel made for him, is now Nightmare.
Although Nightmare did made a Cameo Appearance in Siegfried Schtauffen's Ending on Soul Blade when He was Trying to Bring Back His Dad Who didn't mean to Kill only for The Knight to Turn into Him Zasalamel and Abyss can be Mortal Enemies And Former Alternate Egos just like Siegfried Schtauffen and Nghtmare are Mortal Enemies and Former Alternate Egos
If it isn't it would be really bad, I mean, Soul Calibur started out at the PS1, so why don't they let us, Sony fans enjoy it? But if they upload Soul Blade, I will be more than happy. See ya.
the endings for this game is easily why sc1 was one of the best soul caliburs

@nawgui I think soul Blade, 1,2 and 3 are the best Sc games
