      kinda sad that this kind of post-hardcore doesn't exist anymore. Most post-hardcore bands have transitioned into metalcore.

      Good job !
      I have 2 questions to you )
      1.What is an effect at the start of this song ?
      ( fade in + eq shift ? )
      2. What do you do when you just cant finish the song ?
      ( for example im working on a song , 3\4 got intro,main riff,2-d riff and just stuck )
      your suggestions ?

    • @Shadycicada
      @Shadycicada  8 років тому +17

      Hey man! For the effect, I had a separate master track with the mids solo'd out on the eq. I slowly had it fade out while the main master track faded in.
      When I can't finish a song, I might loop a part of it and try to come up with new leads over it. If I find something I like, I'll usually get an idea on how to structure the rest of the song and come up with new material. If not, I might even take a break and come back to it later. Don't try to force it, but experiment a little. Even playing around with an instrument you're not familiar with can help. Hope that helped! :)

      ***** Many PHC Bands use drop D, C#, C, B tunings , so yes you can )

Along with some other things involving.......*cough cough* an album and tabs *cough cough* *P.S* New cover coming this Saturday as well! *P.P.S* That feel when you forget to put the word "seriously" in the intro. 10/10

      reminded me of odd project. you had posthardcore and in about 2002 2003 it got morphed into few things. thursday, saosin, from autumn to ashes, norma jean, poison the well, thrice. well a little while after... we wanted to throw our metalcore metal influences into it and you got songs that sounded like this. Chiodos did this style really well... I was hoping for a good ol fashion tremelo breakdown with minor 2nds. a la dillinger escape plan or botch.

I hate how after searching Post Hardcore on Apple Music to get more inspiration literally the first song I listen to (Tears Don't Fall by Bullet For My Valentine), I ended up writing something in the same key, tempo, and using the same notes for some parts. Ah, music.

    So, I know which power chords I’m playing in Drop C tuning (C5, C5#, and D5#). Does this mean I’m in the key of C since C is the first power chord? How do I know which minor scales do I use? Do I use the scales dependent on the notes in the progression? I need some clarification 😅
