  • The EDAG CityBot is a multi-functional, fully autonomous robot vehicle with swarm intelligence, which is completely emission-free and electrically powered.
    Originally developed for needs-based and congestion-free transport in the smart city, the EDAG CityBot can be used anywhere where precise processes, timing and an optimized flow of goods can help to increase efficiency and reduce emissions.
    IN USE AT THE AIRPORT
    On the airport apron, the EDAG CityBot demonstrates its advantages and skills in the automation of precise logistics processes, and can take over a variety of tasks in this security area. Its outstanding features are maximum profitability and efficiency, on-time and on-target delivery of people, goods and services, perfect timing and real-time process tracking. The numerous utility modules therefore enable it to be used at the airport for diverse transport and cleaning activities on the runway.
    We have decided to use an automated billing system and full service integration in a SINGLE software platform. In our opinion, the mobility concept with the best payment/user experience will prevail in the future (secured data communication, ePrivacy, use without registration, easy payment, micro-payment). For this reason, we are collaborating with IOTA. IOTA provides us with the desired platform for data exchange and payment transactions - free of charge and in real time.
    IN USE IN THE SMART CITY
    The EDAG CityBot is an intelligent alternative to individual transport, and one that makes clever use of autonomous driving for various applications in urban mobility. Thanks to its modularity and multi-functionality, the EDAG CityBot can be operated around the clock, and there are numerous utility modules that can be fitted to configure it to meet requirements: for use as a passenger cell for instance, or as a cargo carrier, or a device for city cleaning, waste disposal or park maintenance, while at the same time achieving maximum ecological and economic efficiency through continuous utilization. The EDAG CityBots move comparatively slowly though steadily, making them extremely energy-efficient, and they have a fuel cell drive.
    With the EDAG CityBot, we are making an important contribution to the smart city. We are currently examining ways in which the EDAG CityBot might be put to use in the smart city in the FreeCity Campus research project in the real lab in Frankfurt / Main.
