@@markbowen8461naw, man, he isnt. While *Meshuggah* still can write a great track or two, the days of "Catch 33" (their peak material, imo) are gone, and most of them sound quite samey, with predictable songstructures, that make the songs sound just like a lifeless sum of its parts lacking any agency.. On the other hand, *Car Bomb* somehow find new rhythmic/sonic/etc. avenues to explore, with each track requiring multiple listens before You actually can tell the gist of a song which sounds like the whole itself - a living, breathing honeybadger coming to fuck Your day up. That said, I get how some people might find them to be incomprehensible to their ear, and hey, the band arent meant for everybody, so fair enough, but otherwise any decent musician, who isnt just stuck in their comfort zone, would probably recognize the poetry behind *Car Bombs* songwriting, as its actually quite insane how so much of their material is brim full with unique twists and turns, that tends to form into an organized chaos, bewildering to behold. Either way, no dissrespect to the grandfathers, as without *Meshuggah,* we wouldnt have the next level that is *Car Bomb.*
@@markbowen8461 You not getting the method behind *CBs* madness doesnt make it contrived (unlike the analogy You wrote, which seems completelly illogical) - it just means that You dont hear how organically cohesive their stuff actually sounds given enough listens, though I admit it helps if one has a decent sense of time keeping. Going by the logic of "doing something new and more is too unpalatable in comparison to the previous ethalon", "Destroy, Erase, Improve" is too contrived in comparison to the trashmetal scene that inspired it, which is something a lot of people probably thought back then, as *Meshuggah* were braking new ground themselves (just like *Car Bomb* have been doing recently) and its no secret that it takes the masses much longer to digest something actually inovative - I mean, it took almost 2 decades for the general metal community to finally recognize *Meshuggah* as the boundry pushers they were back in the day, and even then there still are enough people who dont get the appeal behind their music, as they find it too robotic/complex just for the sake of it.
@@markbowen8461 I was intrigued by the first paragraph of your response, as I agree - none of the stuff these bands do is entirely new in music itself, but when it comes to heavy music, the way both *Meshuggah* and *Car Bomb* (with the latter taking it up a notch) incorporate metric modulations so effortlesly and organically into their compositions is something I feel quite lacking in the work of most of their peers, with some exceptions. That said, once You felt the need to insult me personally, any credibility your opinion had went out the window in my eyes, and time has taught me that people tend to accuse others of something theyre blind to in regards to themselves, so Im fine with giving this debate a rest.
Carbomb is a league and genre of its own. So incredible the craftsmanship of their songwriting and music. Incomprehensible to me even as an advanced musician.
Just saw them live last week in Norfolk, VA opening for Periphery, and Animals as leaders. A pleasant surprise. Never heard of them until that concert. They are amazing
I like Black Blood but I think a song like Gratitude would have been more up your alley. A little more melodic, even some clean vocals...still super heavy and technical drumming parts. It's my favorite by them so I highly recommend that one. Napoleon - Afterlife
I looked up this band after seeing the suggestions in the comments section, and honestly they've become one of my favorite bands with the likes of Meshuggah, Devin Townsend, Leprous, Ihsahn, etc. It really feels like they took what Meshuggah does and just developed it further, while also integrating mathcore elements reminiscent of The Dillinger Escape Plan, and tossing in a bit of Gojira for good measure. Joe Duplantier from Gojira produced the album Meta (that this song is from), and also provided guest vocals on the song The Oppressor (from Meta) as well as the song Third Revelation from their previous album w^w^^w^w.
Duuuuuuude So cool that you got to these guys, I accidentally seen them warming up before Gojira without hearing anything from them before the show, totally fell in love afterwards
Monuments - Origin of Escape Threat Signal - A New Beginning Unleash The Archers - Ten Thousands Against One (unfortunately not on UA-cam, I believe) Unleash The Archers - Cleanse the Bloodlines
Also, on the tail of Car Bomb, I have to recommend Ion Dissonance again. They have tons of tracks, any of which are golden, on UA-cam, and a video for a song off of their latest album titled "To Lift the Dead Hand of the Past". It's short, sweet, and nasty in the best way. Check it out and keep the tech metal train rolling!
6k!?!? Hells yeah man! Let's keep this community growing!!!! Check out Trepalium- moonshine limbo. You won't regret it. GOJIRA recommended. Not just truant, everyone should check this out it's such an awesome song.
I was late to the Bomba too. A coworker kept mentioning them. Saying how good they are and incredible live too. I regret not listening to Bernie on that one. Thanks Burno McGurno.
Do you want to react to an absolutely crazy and controversial music video from a Norwegian Hardcore band that is super catchy, but more extreme than anything you've heard before? You should react to Haust - Anti-Reproductive. It will definitely blow your mind and be unlike anything you've heard before. No one has done that yet. It's an awesome band, but the video makes most people go WTF??? there is no one quite like them. They like to make really controversial videos. But the song is really awesome, and we have very similar taste in music, so I think you'll like them after a few listens...(and no they are not at all Nazis or anything like that. they just put controversial stuff in their videos.)
Honestly one of the least impressive songs by Car Bomb. Not terrible, but a bit boring IMO. Loved their last album though. Did any of you guys ever hear A Life Once Lost back in the day? First wave of Messhugah-esq bands. Great stuff.
Parts of this song remind of BTBAM around The Silent Circus era (RIP). Not a lot of bands that I've found can pull that sound off but Carbomb does it really well.
Car Bomb - Gratitude! It's like Meshuggah had a baby with Deftones
its like 90s Candiria groove (ala Ken Schalk) , Calculating Infinity, and the brutality of Meshuggah rolled into one perfect fucking band.
Yes
Car Bomb is seriously on a whole new other level. Like Im talking beyond Meshuggah.

Nik Nocturnal - Labyrinth (FEAT. Dmitry Demyanenko of Shokran)
Just saw them live last week in Norfolk, VA opening for Periphery, and Animals as leaders. A pleasant surprise. Never heard of them until that concert. They are amazing
Car Bomb's 'Meta' was one of my favourite albums of 2016! If you're looking for more from it I'd recommend 'Lights Out' and 'Sets'!
RazorRazer masterpiece
I'd recommend the whole album...
joe duplantier (Gojira vocalist/guitarist) produced this album
Daniel Johnstone Justified. I am getting heavy Gojira vibes throughout the song.
Secrets Within is a great track with a sick guitar riff-- also Gratitude!! Some clean vocals, more uplifting than this, but just as crazy.
Band name fits perfectly with their approach to music. Fuckn CAR BOMB!!!!!!1111!!!

Napoleon - Afterlife
Fucking amazing track, this. I haven't listened to this album in a few months, and it's high time I dip back in. Thanks for the upload!

Or Behemoth - Messe Noire
lol...wtf? If you think their music is for pedophiles you might have the mental capacity of a 3 year old.
Its like a weird mix between Gojira and Meshuggah , cool stuff.
+ Dillinger Escape Plan + Aphex Twin/Squarepusher.
