    You made this old guy very happy. I have been trying for circles by sewing two haves together and then turning inside out. Circle was the intension but what came out was close to 👽 alien. Love this. I live with no Walmart, Target or Joeanns and I really wanted batting. Going through Sears pillows we're on sale for $3 each. I have a nice bag of stuffing. Made one with Eagles fabric scraps I had from another project. Have a feeling these will be a big hit in the fatherland of Philly. Thanks a million. Nice video .

      Hi, thanks for watching and for your lovely comment! It's awesome when you can find supplies on sale. Love your fabric choice; they are going to be really fun!

      I’m so glad I found this and sa this wonderful reply. I had the same problem; trying to make little Scottie dogs, they were awful and pulled terribly when I turned them inside out. I’ll try this technique with the felt and put Fray-Chek on the edges and hope they don’t unravel. Thanks!

    You are Genius... I have been recently playing around with Applique' . I also wanted to make some Stuffed Ornaments. You combined the 2, and I now have a use for some Green felt i have. Thanks so much, this inspired me, and it's easy. I made 4 in less than 2 hours.

    O.O -.- O.O Wow. Your sewing machine looks intimidating lol. Super crafty and prrrretty decorations! Loved it. never used a sewing machine in my life (they scare me) but I once put in fabric extensions in a pair of boots...by hand...took 3 days and they are still kickin...who knows, I might climb to your amazing expertise level before the century ends lmao. Tfs.

      LOL! I wish I was an expert. I learn a lot by trial and error mostly. It took me a bit to learn this machine, but it just has a lot of stitches. Threading it isn't too bad. Sewing boots is such a pain!

      Thanks for watching! I can do some simple tutorials if you want. It's easier than it looks. I'm wearing Revlon's Gold Coin nailpolish. I'm loving it because it feels really holiday-ish.

      Thrifty Chica Yes please!! That would be awesome :) That's exactly what I was thinking about your nail polish... it reminds me of a pretty Christmas ornament!

    Thanks for the tutorial. Might buy a sewing machine and start making my own ornaments (aside from hemming clothes). What Brother sewing machine do you have? Would you recommend it to a beginner like me?

    • @TheThriftyChica
      @TheThriftyChica  5 років тому

      Hi! I have the Brother Sewing and Quilting Machine CS6000i. It's really great for quilting as well because it has a slightly larger table with it than average. I really like the extra stitches too because you can make something look custom. Joann's usually runs sales on machines pretty often, too. I like it because it has a drop in bobbin, and it shows where to wind the thread around the machine just in case. I've had mine for about 7 years now, and it's still running well!

    • @reeperez3127
      @reeperez3127 5 років тому +1

      Is it heavy duty enough for hemming denims?

    • @TheThriftyChica
      @TheThriftyChica  5 років тому

      @@reeperez3127 I have hemmed jeans on it before, so it works for that. If you were doing large quantities of work with heavy weight fabrics, then I would probably go with a reproduction Singer or something made of metal that would have greater durability for handling it. However, it's worked on corduroy and denim for me just hemming clothes as needed. Hope that helps!

    • @reeperez3127
      @reeperez3127 5 років тому

      Thanks so much for replying! Will look into heavy duty ones.

    Could I ask what width and length zig-zag stitch you used for stitching around the edge when you attached the circle to the felt - 6 minutes into the video. Just started to sew so not very confident. Thank you :)

    • @TheThriftyChica
      @TheThriftyChica  5 років тому

      Hello! I think on my machine it was the standard setting for the zig zag stitch, setting number 4 on my machine. (That's the smallest zig zag setting.) However, you could use a larger zig zag stitch and it would still work as well. I hope your project turns out well! Thanks so much for watching!

      +Rhonda Worrell Thanks for watching! I usually pick up the variety packs of buttons at Walmart that are a few dollars. Usually smaller ones work the best for me.
