I was unfamiliar with "The Old Fisherman" images displaying the natures of man, so that one is my favorite.

I loved the video. Could you please do a similar video with the symbology analysis in the Tilma of Guadalupe?

The Holbein - from the skull to the semi-hidden crucifix to the broken string on the musical instrument - is brilliant beyond the telling of it.

The Holbein is fascinating. The contortions I had to perform to see what was going on in that sinister 'blade' ...

The subliminal in The Old Fisherman was pretty wild. Which brings me to my second thought that I say in jest, " You mean the Beatles weren't the first to use subliminal in there album folder?"
Actually I wanted to compliment you on your channel. I was always interested in artist like Leonardo, not only fascinated by his art but just by how much ahead of his time he was. However, till I started listening to your channel recently I had found many paintings and especially sculptures boring. You have a Nack for captivating and explaining these pieces with excitement so I am enjoying these pieces with an appropriation that I didn't have before.
    Thank you.

    Afternoon. My
Question, is what does a key hanging on a string in a painting mean.
    Thank you.

Hmmm not sure, I would need a little more context... what is the name / period of the work?

My favorite symbol was that of the fish. In the early church as it spread through the Greek speaking world, people noticed that the first 3 letters of the Greek word for fish were the beginning letters of Jesus' name. It seems clear that the two disciples are visually shocked at recognizing Jesus as he blesses the food. Notice how the elbow of the disciple on the left seems to break out of the picture plane and the white shirt sticking through the torn elbow material makes this even more evident. Also notice that the other disciple has extended his hands in great surprise so that his left hand, too, seems to break out into our space. Along with these see how the corner of the chair of the left seated disciple also seems to enter our space as does the edge of the basket teetering on the edge of the table. There are lines of perspective all pointing to the right side Jesus' face. The light falling from the left directly onto Jesus' face clearly makes this the paintings focal point.

The fish doesn't represent Christianity at all. In fact it's represent of a half man half fish God.
