They had forwards and centers who could shoot. Eric Anderson was like Jack Sikma. Unfortunately, Knight was a bit too stubborn against lesser teams and players.
+Black Panther yeah i was about to write the same thing. When you have '12 hands and you are as big as shaq, its not easy to shoot a freethrow with a ball that is too small for your hands and too easy for your strenght
You mean his free throw form? Sure it looked better but he still had abysmal % in college. His physical shape didn't hinder his athleticism at all later on, and all the weights added to his inside dominance. That's what made him a monster.
+Kefei Lei half true. Even Phil called him out for coming into camp out shape. And of course Kobe got on him too. What I mean is he depended too much on his natural talent and size when he could have been even much more than just that.
+Dharma Ram I agree man for me looking at Orlando Shaq and the heavier Laker Shaq is like looking at two completely different people. The athleticism he had in his skinnier Orlando days was just crazy. Looking at Laker Shaq all that extra weight he put on made him more dominant then he already was but he lost a little athleticism not too much tho
I remember this game. LSU had a big lead and then IU put a small forward on Shaq to swat the ball away every time he got the ball, it worked, IU won easily. Ho-hum.
That LSU team had high school All Americans at almost every position his final year in college and they got ran off the court by a bunch of midwestern farmboys. Shaq should have at LEAST went to the Final Four his freshman year when he was with Chris Jackson and Stanley Roberts. Unfortunately for Shaquille, Dale Brown was his college coach. Bobby Knight must’ve been licking his chops when he saw Dale Brown.
Georgetown and LSU were in the same region playing in this same building and both made it to the second round. If the two of them had won their games (Gtown played against Florida State), Shaq and Alonzo Mourning would have faced each other in the Sweet Sixteen in the next game.
I remember reading that a long time ago in the last millennium💅 🤣 That was one of Bob's best quotes, just for the record. But there was also a game in the run up to the national championship in 1987 when IU also played LSU and had a 1 point squeaker In the sweet 16 or maybe the elite 8 when it could have ended but Indiana pulled it off against LSU and Bob Brown. And they also beat the Running Rebels from Vegas in the first game of the final 4, then of course they went on to defeat Syracuse in a classic on Monday night against 2 all Americans, when Keith Smart hit the game winner with about 3 seconds left. Steve Alford was 7 for 11 on his 3 point shots, scoring 23 points for the game.
How LSU didn't get to one national championship game or Final Four with Shaq still puzzles me. That's just like last year couldn't even make the tournament with Ben Simmons.
And yet IU still wins the game. This was a great team to watch. Go Iu!!!
They had forwards and centers who could shoot. Eric Anderson was like Jack Sikma. Unfortunately, Knight was a bit too stubborn against lesser teams and players.
damn his shot form and free throw percentage looked good in college
+0608jeff I was about to write the same thing. He looked great. I think his free throw's form got worse because he got more muscular.
+Black Panther yeah i was about to write the same thing. When you have '12 hands and you are as big as shaq, its not easy to shoot a freethrow with a ball that is too small for your hands and too easy for your strenght
+NBA Entertainment I mean I never bought in to that excuse. There's plenty of players with big ass hands who can shoot FTs.
+NBA Entertainment yao ming was bigger, as strong, had bigger hands and shot in the mid 80s for free throws for his career.
+Bob Builder Yao has smaller hands, also his arms are much shorter than it should be for his height.
Shaq and Matt Nover (#24 Indiana) would go on to star in "Blue Chips" 2 years later.
There can ever be another player as dominant as Shaquille Oneal. His talents are as rare as Jordans
And if I can choose which one to play for my team id take Shaq over MJ I know MJ is the greatest but id take Shaq over him
He's so dominant he can't win
@@adamr6794 4 Championships and he was also an MVP what do you mean he can't win?
Man!! imagine how much better he would have been if he stayed this good of shape!
You mean his free throw form? Sure it looked better but he still had abysmal % in college. His physical shape didn't hinder his athleticism at all later on, and all the weights added to his inside dominance. That's what made him a monster.

What a match up. Ricky Rowe vs. Neon Bodeaux
12/12 from the FT line
O’NEALOVIC!
Wth shaq's free throws is smooth as fuck!
He was quick to the basketball. I'm sure cus of youth and slimmer.
#40 for Indiana was a beast. Chaney...
Was one of my favs in elementary school.
Shaq ahhhhhhh🙂🙂🙂🙂👏👏👏👏
WHO told him to change his shooting form in the nba?
Giannis Kontos the Orlando magic hired a shooting coach for Shaq after his rookie year Buzz Braymon and he completely changed Shaq's form.
@@robertosantiago7099 He should have been terminated!!!!!!
The gods told him.
I remember this game. LSU had a big lead and then IU put a small forward on Shaq to swat the ball away every time he got the ball, it worked, IU won easily. Ho-hum.
I recognized the dude who fouled Shaq in the post as Ricky Rowe from Blue Chips.
Matt Nover ...one of my favorite all time Hoosiers ... hard nosed every time down the court. Curse Duke.

his free-throw form looked good af compare to his form in the NBA SMH lol
Georgetown and LSU were in the same region playing in this same building and both made it to the second round. If the two of them had won their games (Gtown played against Florida State), Shaq and Alonzo Mourning would have faced each other in the Sweet Sixteen in the next game.
LOL, that looks like his Lakers home jersey his first year in LA
Shaq’s best college game.
Damn he was a MAN against boys
+Fake Michael Jordan yup lol should see his highschool games to like playing against midgets
Like Coach Knight said, “I looked over at LSU’s bench and saw Dale Brown, and knew we had a chance”.

Dale Brown that's how.🤒
Shaq looked like he made every FT he took.
Wow look at those free throws
Alan Henderson changed the momentum to Indiana with his baseline jumpers.
shaq can shoot free throws!!!
He should have kept this free throw form I mean wtf might would have been the GOAT
What a freakin great FT shooter I just saw! What happened then
Who else finds the humor in many highlights are made free throws.
What happened to his freethrows in the NBA? He sure was making them in college lol.
He could actually hit free throws in college
Damn, Shaq got mugged every time he touched the ball.
That incompetent feeling when you play with Shaq against Liliput and still lose.
Indiana won… then in the twilight zone Shaq and Matt Nover were in a movie.
lol it's like watching a grown up playing with school kids.
Half of his points came from free throws. Why tf did he change his form in NBA?
calbert chaney did a r kelly on shaq. he pissed all over him.
Neon and Ricky
you didnt show all the blocks
Where the hell did his free throw form go then? And why the hell did Bobby Knight put this line-up against Shaq?
He could shoot good...he put the weight on..
damn hes fretrow good in college
hes lost FT in nba like a dump
+Nur Ibad They said he was just a 50% freethrow shooter.
What is all the painted crap on the floor!?!?
5:43 haha, they had all 5 guys drop down and defend Shaq, and he still scored.
I can’t believe how good his form used to be. As a shooter myself how does this get worse and worse?
