You forgot to mention that without online connection, you can NOT play this game offline , except for a few one lap races. Even with a physical hard copy disc, if your internet is down or Sony is down, this game does not allow you to play. I don't know why it's made this way, but a huge bummer for an otherwise amazing game.
It's a bit hard to justify this game since most of it is locked behind an Always-Online connection. Like, do the devs have an End-of-life plan once the servers are shutdown or will most of the game will end up bricked once all support ends? That to me is kind of a major deal breaker for most games.
@@bens3767 Well I would assume the vast majority are almost always online. When you gameshare and want to play your games purchased on your account, you must always be connected online. A vast majority game share too in the gaming community so they always have to be online.
It's a reason I no longer buy NBA 2K games. After two years a healthy portion of the game is unplayable. I'm not someone who plays games all day every day.
@Scott Pilgrim I'm not judging you for still getting GT7. That's your choice to make. I'm a bit of a hypocrite since I also bought GT7 but now, I have buyers remorse. Yeah, the only parts of GT7 that could be played without a connection are the Music Rally and Arcade Mode. That's it. You can't play even play the single player component of the game. Once the servers go down or if something goes wrong, the game is mostly bricked. And it's still tied deeply into the physical release since it was released with that online tether.
Man, I spent countless hours playing Gran Turismo 4 back on PS2. Loved that game. These games are surprisingly deep and take a while to see everything they have to offer. It’s always been my favorite racing franchise. It’s good to see that Polyphony Digital is trying to take their crown back. For me they’ve always made the most impressive racing sims on the market. Love your vids Karak. Keep up the great work.
TBF the marketing around this game has shown that Polyphony and Sony are really passionate about the GT series. While it may not be a genre for everyone, they seem to have leaned into the idea that this game is for people who are into the racing world.
@@Walamonga1313 That’s actually a perfect description of how the Gran Turismo series pulls you in. It’s like an RPG and you feel yourself leveling up and getting stronger with the more licenses and vehicles you unlock. That then unlocks new areas of the game and experiences to be had. You start to perfect the mechanics of the game and understand it’s systems. Such excellent games. Unfortunately I don’t have a PS5 or I would be playing this for hundreds of hours. Hopefully the rumors of a PC release turn out to be true. It’s been far too long since I’ve gotten lost in a Gran Turismo game.

After the 1.07 patch this week, im gonna say wait for sale... They nerfed credits earned and removed the ability to sell cars. Legendary cars are like 3.5mil. People calculated it will take 30 hours of racing to unlock. It's the equivalent of $40USD for a GT40 You need to buy 3 for a trophy to get the plat The community is pretty upset right now. PD is really pushing microtransactions...
Well Xbox Series X it is for me then! I wanted a PS5 just for GT7 but this is just ridiculous. I'm not gonna fish out $70 for this game if they're going to treat this legendary franchise like this.
@Andy that's one way of looking at it. I do OWN the game and think it's fkn great. Probably the only driving sim i've really enjoyed in the last few years. They had one server maintenance since i've owned it and it was 2 whole hours. In that time you could play offline modes at least. I think you must be a glass half full kind of guy. Everyone is evil and out to get you, take away your freedoms. Diablo 3 had the same criticisms about always online - ten years ago! I really enjoyed that one too with thousands of hours played and go back to it from time to time. Always online is a non issue.
@Andy I guess by that thinking I've never owned Diablo 3 either lol. I bought a digital copy of GT7 too so I'm even less in your offline-only camp. It comes down to perceptions of what constitutes ownership I guess. Anyway you're fighting a losing war homie. You can tell the grandkids about the good ol gaming days before internet and how everything was better back then.
I feel the same way, never really been into racing games except for maybe need for speed back in the day growing up, but I am happy to see a game like this get successful for sure
As someone who recently played Forza Horizon I can safely say this is a very beautiful looking game. Even compared to playgrounds racing game. Impressive
Same, I always thought racing games were kinda boring and you're just driving around. But this does look interesting and seeing all the positive reviews makes me somewhat intrigued. I'll try it out and see if it gets me into racing games.
I think the only real downside to this game right now is that it requires an internet connection for all modes. Digital Foundry covers that part. It severely limits what you can play when in offline mode and constantly spams you with notices to say there's an error connecting.
Really wish you mentioned the offline mode. Theres almost no content availible to play while offline. I feel for people who bought this expecting a single player experiance and getting nothing.
@@brentschmgbert3578 plenty. Where I live I'm only able to get 5mbps. It constantly cuts out. So while playing I'll be in the menus, the game will lock up then boot me to offline mode.
No mention of even the single player mode being mostly online-only? Dealbreaker for Hitman, and a dealbreaker here. It's a shame, I love both franchises but maybe I'm just going to have to be done with this hobby.
Do you not have internet? Or have a hotspot on phone you can use? Getting just a connection to the internet isn't usually a hard thing to do these days.

My grandpa bought GT1 and a PS1 with a steering wheel for my brother when he was a kid because he had, leukemia and spent a lot of time in the hospital. We had so much fun with that game and both my brother and I became life long gamers. Luckily my brothers doing ok but my grandad passed in October 2021. When he was in the hospital we bought him a PS4 and he was blown away by the graphics and gameplay. He was playing RDR 2 and GT: Sport when he passed. He was really looking forward for this one I’m gonna play it for him
One thing our beloved Karak forgot to mention was that Gran Turismo 7 has an online-only DRM, which means you need to always be connected to the internet to play essentially everything, which is in itself a “Gran” dealbreaker for me.
Have to question this guys credibility, considering the depth he went into regarding other aspects of the game. If this game is unplayable for even a minority of players it should be shouted loudly.
WAIT WAIT WAIT WAIT I say this as a huge fan of the series from the very first game back in 1995. DO not buy this right now!! Bugs, microtransactions and lack of content is how I can best describe this game. Week two has been rough.
I agree i bought the game and the single player is incredibly bad there's nothing to it. The return to form it was said to be GT7 most certainly is not.
They did some pretty stupid stuff, like not letting you sell your unwanted cars. You get stuck with 3 of the same cars, or 3 cars for a given race when you only need 1. Can’t make money quick to buy a used car. Plus they include all the needed cars in the used lot, it’s pointless to buy them when you just win them in a race anyway.
Any racing fans do not buy Gran Turismo 7 in its current state. As a racing fan and GT fan this game should be called GT7 Prologue! There is hardly any single player content because a cafe mode with no voice acting and a few cups. There’s basically no good way to earn credits and have a goal steadily pushing you forward and they try to lean you toward microtransactions to get credits faster. You cant even sell your car and there’s only 400ish vehicles vs. 700 in some other racing titles. Also the roulette wheel is rigged and not true random and you barely get any spins! The game also has Ray tracing mode and performance mode but they don’t affect gameplay only replays on the PS5! While the racing, water effects and handling, and some stuff are good, Forza 7 stands up to this game and it came out in 2017. They should not have released it yet, but they’ve had since damn PS3 to make mainline game but this one not much better than Sport in it’s current state. They better release updates at least to fix it since it’s a live service. But at this rate it’s sad this what the GT franchise has become, they need to get it together because I strongly believe Forza Motorsport 8 is gonna come blow this out of the water if they don’t fix it. But Sony needs to get on this dev team to get the game in shape or they’re gonna lose a lot of players. Now they’ve updated and nerfed the money earned on certain races to help people get good cars is BS and not being able to play the single player when servers are down is dumb af. Don’t spend your money on this game until some of these issues are resolved, especially the ones regarding earning credits. Cause as of now they’re just trying to make it to where either you have to play the little content for 100s of hours or buy microtransactions to get credits to buy the great cars or upgrade yours. Complete trash and highly unfortunate because there’s a good game underneath all these terrible practices.
Awesome review! You’re such a pro! Somehow you’ve been able to post reviews of games like Gran Turismo and Shadow Warrior 3 before a major outlet like Game Informer has! Your channel is really great. Keep up the great work!
Micro transactions to avoid grind on a £70 base game that locks away cars and tracks behind said pay wall.. I've been waiting for years to play a proper GT game.. I'll give this a miss..
Coming back 2 weeks after launch. Firstly, when PDs servers go down, you can do hardly anything. The disappointment in the GT community at the moment, is the highest I have ever seen. I myself now understand why there is disappointment. This game doesn't offer a campaign mode like other gt games where you have the usual Amateur, Beginner, Endurance etc. You can't go into a mode to choose the cup you want race in, ie you can't do the Sunday Cup as you can in other games. You can't sell your cars for credits like the psn description says, again something you could in gt games. After 2 weeks, the credit system has been shown to be geared towards MTX. And very heavily. Just today PD have slashed the rewards for completing cafe races, the roulette tickets are geared very very heavily towards low rewards. It has time limited invitations to buy cars which induces fomo. It prompts to buy credits everytime you get rewarded credits from roulette. It has very little content that has pit usage and tyre wear and fuel usage. Unless you make a custom race, there's hardly any. I'm talking maybe 2 in 37 menu books so far. There is 1 grid start so far. The rest is typical start at the back. I am genuinely genuinely upset at this 2 weeks in. Everything they have put in the game is top work in terms of looks visuals sounds etc. Scapes is still incredible. But I've never had a gran turismo game put me off the franchise. Not even when I was lucky to get one of the faulty discs back in the ps2 game. Give us the campaign mode as its always been, with rewards so we can collect cars in the game. Get rid of the MTX.
The last Gran Turismo, I think it was Gran Turismo Sport? was the BIGGEST shock Ive ever had when dealing with Playstation, especially when like many, I grew up with the original GT 1 & GT2 having OVER 600 cars, ALL fully upgradeable & customizable & THAT was what made Gran Turismo the most amazing racing game by an inconceivable amount as nothing came anywhere near as close & all on just the PS1!! In comparison with modern gaming tech etc a GT game should have at LEAST 1,000 fully upgradeable cars & GT Sport had NONE!? That was by far the most disappointing racing game sequel in gaming history, the WHOLE point in Gran Turismo was realism, tons of realistic cars & most importantly, the ability to fully upgrade them. As long as GT7 has at least 500 cars & they are also fully upgradeable I would be more than happy, since I have avoided reading or watching anything about GT7 in fear of being disappointed yet again, are you saying it has less that 500 cars & that once again you cant upgrade them??
I sub! Why you spoke about wheels! I’m a thrustmaster t150 user and THANK YOU for covering this!!!!! No one ever speaks or cover wheels! Bless you man!
the microtransactions turned me off... it was always really fun competing against my friends back in elementary school to brag or hearing friends brag about what car they bought in GT cause you'd know they actually worked hard to earn it. Now everybody can just buy with real money, thats really lame. kicks down the honour of having awesome cars, and that was the biggest deal to me in GT... so sad GT7 wont be for me after all... after more than a decade of not being into the direction GT has gone i guess its offcial GT is dead to me
You don't need the Microtransactions at all period. You get so many credits as is just by playing the game. You don't even have to think about touching them. It's just a "Pay money if you would rather work 2 hours at a job instead of playing for around 6-10 hours worth of gameplay." At least that is how my wife thinks. Why does it matter if others know if you earned it or not? You can still brag to your friends if they play that you earned it and you feel proud of it if it's that important to you.
just so anyone new knows, the MXT aren't bad at all anymore. They made it easier to get credits, and even removed difficulty affecting credits. I'm sitting on 5 mil from just playing cafe mode, and circuit experience can net you easy millions in a matter of minutes.
In total look at how slow everything looks, no sense of actual speed at all. This was always the worst bit about GT. Add to it lack of car weight feeling and it suddenly becomes mediocre game as a sim. It should never got sim title as it is simcade at best.
'...even if you never went online, the amount of content here is stupendous' - seeing as the only content that's available if you're not online is the arcade mode and its pre-set car selection, that statement is false. [Edit] Returning to the topic of MT's, they're just legalised cheating; you can get ahead of other players, but you have to pay the developer for the privilege. This proves the idea that the online requirement is there to stop cheaters to be false and moot, because you can cheat - just only in a way that gets PD more money.
I mean for people who always have online this is fine to get full price. GT Sport they added way more offline content when the game was nearing it's end because of GT7. I feel they could do this to the game too when it's nearing the end of it's life.
@@TheOtakuKnownAsWolf I mean it depends but like considering this game will have a lifespan of 3-5 years going by sonys current track record(as in after that time the game will literally be unplayable) it 10 bucks is far to much really since always online takes about 98-100% value of Granturismo games. But maybe considering the game is lacking so much content its not like many people will still play that game in that amount of years compared to any previous full Granturismo game. So maybe in that regard it don't matter to much.
if you happen to own a ps5 somehow paying over retail over 90% of the time due to scalpers during covid and have money to spend money on a racing game, im sure 99% of those people will also have internet so i could understand if it was a vast majority issue but its just not.
@@Torraim getting used to it is what gives corporations carte blanche to keep pushing the envelope until eventually we own nothing and have to pay multiple subscriptions for extortionate prices just to temporarily enjoy a fraction of a single game (when we are allowed the privilege of doing so, that is). Dont forget if your buying this only to have to pay online just to use it, your just Renting the game then...what happens when servers go down or GT8 gets released what will happen to the servers. We have seen this happen before and it dodnt end well smh.
I always turn music off in racing games. I need to hear everything going on around me, and being a big gear head I would rather just hear the cars. I also almost never pre-order games anymore but this one i just had to. I'm 100% sure I will not he disappointed and the little credit bonus at the start will be nice.
Idk why he said the game is MASSIVE... I beat the Cafe "story" and rolled credits on Sunday 2 days after launch. And got all the licenses BEFORE I started the Cafe... AND, you can literally BUY the entire campaign if you wanted to
I remember pretending to be sick to stay home and do a 100 lap race lol way back in the day. This is my first racer in quite some time and so far I’m enjoying it. I personally love the license tests. I’m getting a steering wheel set this time around, hopefully get my kids into this kind of game and not just Fortnite.
I’m amazed at your ability to single-handedly play and review all these massive games. I often can play 6 hours a day and I’m not even half way through dl2, Elden ring and horizon. Great review as well. I like the audio breakdown, it’s a feature too often ignored in reviews. I’m a soundtrack off guy, one of my favorite thing about racers is that I can listen to my own music without detracting from the experience. Wish you could import music for the beats mode.
Never Touch. I have already beaten this incredibly short game and made less than 2M credits. They expect you to shell out real money if you want even 10% of the small number of cars.
Did you mention the micros in the review and how disgusting the entire system is? F2P style with timed cars that you can only buy with an invitation without them you wont be able to buy many of the high end supercars they are greyed out as well as removing the option to sell our cars to compliment their insatiable greed !!! I scanned through the video and cant find the breakdown of microtransactions being some of the worst in a AAA game
@@grug440 My question is, why hasn't ACG given an update about this video? It now (not his fault) contains factually incorrect information. 12:18 except you need a constant internet connection to gain access any of the content in the game (EVEN THE SINGLE PLAYER CAREER MODE). If you don't have an internet connection, you can only do music rally or a quick race with barley a dozen cars to choose from - THAT'S IT! Pretty despicable tbh

One thing that bugs me about racing games…… Lack of Damage, that true feeling of a real race with radio chat, you bent your wheel on that last lap, bring it in to fix type thing .
This is a game where I knew I was going to need ACG to talk about the sound. I just couldn't stand to hear IGN's "cars go VROOM VROOM real good" once again. Thanks for your COMPLETE coverage!
Stll no damage model? Kind of a shame here. Even just having cars break visually would add to realism a bit. Forza Motorsport, Assetto Corsa, Project CARS, even GRID does that.
I suppose that's not asking for much in my opinion but, the game is visually too appealing in car modeling perfection to detail. Not only would it be a lot for polyphony to get it realistic looking from all sorts of replay angles but they would have to make several varying damage models based on what the collision that's involved would cause the cars literally per car. Usually the issue with games like that is, you only can go so far with graphics when you implement visual damage, less frame rate stability online mainly (im not saying it cant be done) but as it would be an additional detail to be able to see damage on the other cars your also racing against too. Plus to add they'd have to Incoperate a 360 degree of your own car to view while you're actively racing, which they don't have so far, for it to make any bit of sense for implementation of visual damage. Clueless as to why no 360 view but its appearant after so many games that theyve got a reason. It might be asking for alot considering there's more content that they have yet to throw into the game still coming in the future. It's only alot in the sense, they'd have to nail those visuals perfectly for over 400 cars and with it to grow. The request alone isn't out of reach. Just time consuming.
So glad to see Gran Turismo back to proper form after Sport. The ability to take a car that has no business being in the race its in, and winning, is something I greatly missed. i just got this game today and I am honestly quite disappointed by the lack of camera options and settings. The game is great so far but the camera views are horrendous which hurts my experience with the game. There's no sense of speed with the chase cam at all, it's like they just slapped a go pro behind the car and called it a day. There's not even a dashboard view unlike its competitors. Camera settings are so limited too, HUD isn't really customizable at all which sucks (it is "customizable" but not to a degree that I was expecting for a "sim"). This is my first GT game because i didn't own a playstation console when I was younger so I was stoked to get it but with the issues it has like the ones i pointed out and it being online only made me a bit disappointed. I still really like it though. I hope PD fixes the camera and probably offer more options in the future.
Very happy to see that this game is gonna do wonders for racing fans. Even though racing games are not my particular goto I cannot deny the absolutely amazing detail and features that this game has to offer.
So excited for this! I haven't owned a console this my PlayStation 1, I used to play Gran Turismo and loved it so much. Just recently got a PS5, can't wait to get this game!
I'm going to be playing this with a wheel primarily, but I'm actually excited to try it with the haptic triggers and gyro steering. It's just something that sets the console experience apart from the myriad of PC racing games.
Finally a review that acknowledges the gyro steering option in GT. I discovered it in GT Sport and it was an halleluiah moment for me, as it gave me a level of control i never achieved before with a pad. In the absence of a steering wheel, this is the best option i can think of for a racing game and i don't understand why other developers don't embrace it.

*Gonna wait till the price drops. Seems no different to playing GT sport on ps5. What’s the difference, more tracks, cars, adaptive triggers, load times, graphics… not worth the upgrade yet.. gt sport still looks great on ps5*
My hope is that the adaptive triggers will allow a better feeling for braking pressure/ ABS. That’s always been my problem playing semi realistic racing games with a controller
Do you still start last on a rolling start and have to knock everyone out the way to get up to the overpowered car that started in first in about 4 laps?

You forgot to mention that without online connection, you can NOT play this game offline , except for a few one lap races.
Even with a physical hard copy disc, if your internet is down or Sony is down, this game does not allow you to play.
I don't know why it's made this way, but a huge bummer for an otherwise amazing game.
It's a bit hard to justify this game since most of it is locked behind an Always-Online connection. Like, do the devs have an End-of-life plan once the servers are shutdown or will most of the game will end up bricked once all support ends? That to me is kind of a major deal breaker for most games.
This is definitely a deal breaker for me. The fact that no one is talking about this either says a lot.
@@bens3767 Well I would assume the vast majority are almost always online. When you gameshare and want to play your games purchased on your account, you must always be connected online. A vast majority game share too in the gaming community so they always have to be online.

@Scott Pilgrim they should let you play after the servers go down, they would not make the game dead i assume, it would be stupid(sales-wise).
@Andy can't write of an entire game for always online. Who isn't always online these days anyway, it's not 1995 anymore
I think the only real downside to this game right now is that it requires an internet connection for all modes. Digital Foundry covers that part. It severely limits what you can play when in offline mode and constantly spams you with notices to say there's an error connecting.
AI still cheats with rubberbanding with no option to disable it for all races.
Agree. Found that out after purchase. It's a dirty trick they play. I'm not interested in online play. I also have a tight budget.

I say this as a huge fan of the series from the very first game back in 1995.
"Theres an online mode" I think you mean There is NO OFFLINE MODE.

You need to revisit this after new patch 1.07...utterly ruined the game through greed
100%! I’m at the same place and wish I waited to buy. I’m very disappointed and am tempted to buy GT2 or 3 to relive the good days
As long as GT7 has at least 500 cars & they are also fully upgradeable I would be more than happy, since I have avoided reading or watching anything about GT7 in fear of being disappointed yet again, are you saying it has less that 500 cars & that once again you cant upgrade them??

it was always really fun competing against my friends back in elementary school to brag or hearing friends brag about what car they bought in GT cause you'd know they actually worked hard to earn it.

I'd 100% wait for a large sale or buy used. It's online only so has like a 5 year life spawn and after that its done.
The offline issue is a huge disappointment.
if you happen to own a ps5 somehow paying over retail over 90% of the time due to scalpers during covid and have money to spend money on a racing game, im sure 99% of those people will also have internet so i could understand if it was a vast majority issue but its just not.

Should you update this review like you did for Elden Ring?
One thing that bugs me about racing games……
Lack of Damage, that true feeling of a real race with radio chat, you bent your wheel on that last lap, bring it in to fix type thing .
PD didn’t want to pay license fees for what amounts to gameplay that isn’t fun.
I cant play these games with the camera inside the car. Its so claustrophobic and i cant see anything. Bumper camera for me only.

When my grandfather passed away years ago he gave me his copy of Gran Turismo 1 in its original box along with the manual and instruction booklet I still have it on my shelf today as a sign of respect now I have a tradition I buy one racing game for Generation to honor my grandfather's memory I'm going to buy Gran Turismo 7 I'm going to try and earn the cars I want without spending a dime on microtransactions
the micro transactions are for the hardcore online players that like to pay to win stuff like cod
The way the cockpit cam moves around a little through corners and bumps looks freakin amazing
It's raining games and I love getting soaked. Still taking my time with Horizon Forbidden West and put a ton of time in photo mode as it is stunning. But GT7 is coming in soon as it is part of a subscription of Top Gear magazine in the Netherlands so that is cool as I love the GT games. Good to hear single player is great as that is my thing. As always, thank you for making another great review Karak.
Uhh pause
Make sure you take time to appreciate forza horizon 5.
I appreciate your honesty here @ACG. This is once again another game I'm going to have to pass up on buying. Once you said there were "One or two dropped frames on a few maps", then that once again prevents me from buying this game. I haven't bought a game in a very long time, and I use your reviews to make sure I'm getting my money's worth. If the devs can't provide a game without issues, then I can't bring myself to buy it. Thank you for your honesty!
I’ve never been super good at racing games but Gran Turismo 3 was what got me interested… GT7 looks amazing. I’m excited!!
Can't run a full grid of cars in the rain? My goodness. Awful.
I’m glad you mentioned the gyro steering. It’s something that makes a huge difference playing racing games on controller
nah get a wheel if you want true realism and to be the fastest driver.
@@EazyDuz18 Realism? Yes. Fastest? Uhh no. People really don’t need to justify their expensive wheels by claiming it makes them better at the game. You get it because you want to immerse yourself in the experience of driving a car. I do agree tilt controls don’t translate well to a sim racer like this.
@@EazyDuz18 he didn't say anything about realism. He said it makes a huge difference in racing games on a controller. Which is accurate.
@@EazyDuz18 yea but not everyone wants a full wheel setup. Gyro is next best thing by far and best option for a controller imo.
@@bulbinking have you tried it in Gt sport. It's actually awesome.
i just got this game today and I am honestly quite disappointed by the lack of camera options and settings.
So glad you reviewed this one. Hasnt been a big talking point in the gaming community lately. Been silently excited for it. Looks great!
So happy to hear this is a solid release. Haven’t played a GT game in years and have this one preordered. Can’t wait for Friday.
Hmmmmmm haptic should be interesting. Totally forgot about that. I have the G29 personally. Love it
What is considered the best wheel or racing set up for PlayStation 5?
@@TheStealthDawg the Playstation version of the fanatec DD w/ boost kit and the load cell brake upgrade for the pedals in the bundle
@@gankdalfthedank9855 thank you!
I like how they used chilies as a scale for racing difficulty
good review I haven't gamed for a few years no this seam's much like GT5 by your descriptions a real fun game that had good online after a while so after watching all this new GT content hitting Utube I think I'll upgrade my consul and start having some sim fun again
Micro transactions, $10 PS5 upgrade, Basically Always Online (Game is pretty much worthless offline). These are incredibly disappointing. I don't know why Sony is taking this route with this game. So much good, to be tarnished but bad decisions.
Thanks for the video ACG!
10$?
@@itachi1165 GT7 PS4 is $60, PS5 is $70. A $10 premium charge is just greed at this point.
@@MichaelPohoreski oh wow idk if i should buy a ps5 for this
Broke boy
@@MichaelPohoreski they’re making it so you can’t pay $60 and get a $70 product. Nothing wrong with that as long as the game is worth it.
Basically you never own this game as internet is required to play most features of the game. Just sick what gaming has come to. It was a fun ride.
Im really looking forward to trying GT7 unfortunately i dont have the spare cash right now so i may need to wait for sale sadly, thanks for the review and the consistently great content you provide.
"Your mileage may vary..." *Peter Griffin laugh*
Why have you not mentioned that this requires an online connection to play? Has this changed? Can you play any modes without an online connection?
Does it affect you. Are you not online most of the time?
@Andy According to IGN ( Yes. IGN. I know ) arcade mode and music mode are playable offline. No idea on car numbers in arcade ( it sounded like not many ). It's a miss from me then and probably many others. GT Sport was a Trojan horse. Should of boycotted that and they wouldn't of doubled down on it this time. A shame
@@Jvvvv567 Yes it does. Not online most of the time. That's the reason the majority of games don't do the same thing. It's been a controversy since they announced it but the closer the game has got to reviews it's been hushed up. They may say it's an anti cheating measure. It's more anti resale. Force everyone to purchase the latest version. A shame but if that's what they want to do then it's on their conscience
@@robsmall6466 your really in a small majority. It’s 2022 and people have access to online.
I doubt your PS5/Xbox/PC or what ever you have is not always online.
@@Jvvvv567 Sometimes you still can't play the game even if you have internet. When the game was in maintenance, people couldn't even play the single player career mode. I don't have a problem with games that require internet to play the multiplayer portion. But the fact that the single player modes requires internet just to play is ridiculous.
An internet connection should never be a requirement just to play the single player portion.
Just a suggestion to improve readability of the overlay text: it wouldn't hurt to have these on screen longer, maybe by factor two. As a non-native speaker it's sometimes hard to realize that there's text and get to the end by the time it stops being on screen. Could just be me but I've noticed this with other channels as well. Thx for the insightful review, as always!
I've waited about 10 years for this... since GT5. I'm so ready :)
same. GT6 was a letdown. i skipped GT sport.
Because $70 wasn't enough... This next gen just said forget the vaseline
Here we are 2 weeks later with a broken game geared towards microtransactions.
Gran turismo 7 reminded me when games were actually fun
Do you still start last on a rolling start and have to knock everyone out the way to get up to the overpowered car that started in first in about 4 laps?
Yes, and no option to switch to standing start unless you do a custom race.. but they severely capped the payouts for custom races
It's the dreaded ALWAYS online. You should have mentioned that. (If I didn't miss it)
I am so happy this game reviewed well. I love racers, but I usually play on Xbox platforms. This will be my first Gran Turismo game. I think it will make a good palette cleanser between long sessions of Horizon Forbidden West or Elden Ring.
It prolly won't be much like forza. Its more like asseto corsa I think. For me dirt rally 2 is greatest racer of all time lol. But I'm getting this.
_Forza Horizon_ is an *arcade* racer.
_GT, GTS_ and _Forza Motorsports_ are *simcade* racers.
_AC_ and _ACC_ are sim racers.
Not everyone enjoys the challenge of realism. Some find arcade to be not challenging enough.
Elder ring top 10 this racing car game is the worst Michael transaction
@Mr Calcium car physics? GT? You sure? 😂
Also liveries and sponsors you can put in your car..even go on searcher and find you’re specific ones..like for example Netflix, Coca Cola IKEA and so on…you can have latest Outfits for example ..Max Verstappen 2022 outfit F1 or Michael Schumacher ..it’s unbelievable
