Aloha! As a local resident, I've only walked through 'Aulani, hoping one day, I'll find the funds to stay on property. Since I live in Hawaii, it makes more sense for me to travel and invest in a trip to the Disneyland Resort instead. I'm glad you both not only had a chance to return to this special resort post Covid, but the motive to also share your magical island experience to viewers like myself so we could be there with you in some way. Thank you for your care, honesty and, kindness while vlogging and during your stay in my home state. I hope to bump into both of you on my trip to CA this summer. Mahalo and a hui hou.
Lol being poly and seeing the Polynesian humor never fails! Loved the cast members interactions with you two during the activity hour, what an awesome experience to learn about the culture.
I live in Hawaii for 4 1/2 years and went to plenty of Luaus. This one was very nice.. I actually got a little teary eyed as well. The Hawaiian people are proud of their history and culture and I loved to see this show. Thank you for sharing it with us.
@@OrdinaryAdventures The one at the Polynesian cultural center.. you got to see all the different Polynesian cultures version of dance. The Tahiti dancers were great!
Kitra and Peter are so magical and amazing! They can be in Hawaii one day, then Universal Studios Hollywood the next… and then back to Hawaii. I love it.
My mom and I have always loved watching you guys. Her favorite series has always been Aulani. This is because she said it seems so peaceful and she has always wanted to go there.
I like that they based the luau around Ko Olina and Ewa, specifically. That's cool. Other than our one night at Aulani away from the larger family, we stayed at a house on Ewa beach and it was incredible. That whole area of the island gets such nice weather. It's not as lush as the other side, but it worked for us. Looks like a great luau!!!
That’s awesome to hear. We first heard about them from our friends mouse vibes and took it with us to the parks for our Walt Disney world trip in October and loved it. So it was cool to get an email from them looking to sponsor a video!
I had a room overlooking the Luau in May so we watched it about 3 times. But I have to say, the experience at the Polynesian Cultural Center was better. The Luau was really nice. Food was great. Entertainment was great. The only thing no alcohol. But the drink served in the pineapple was soooooo good. Then there is an evening show after the Luau that is crazy good. Shows all the Polynesian cultures and the fire show is so good. And did I mention the whole experience at the cultural center was cheaper than Disneys luau. But thanks Peter and Kitra for you vlogs.
So amazing, I discovered you back in 2021 when we were heading to our first Aulani trip and now heading to our second trip your videos are still my favorite.
So I just booked this twice in May. For me and the wife to do this twice, it cost 733 dollars. Very expensive but after seeing this video and this is probably gonna be the only time we go to Hawaii, it'll be worth it. Thank you to the both of you!!
Thank you so much for sharing this. I know a lot of work goes into filming and editing videos. This is a trip I will never be able to go do but through this video I get to feel like in a small way I am there with you guys. You both totally Rock! Not ''the rock'' even if you have the same tattoo. lol
You guys inspired our trip to Hawaii last year and it was the most amazing time. We specifically went to the North Shore for food hopping and stayed at Aulani to get the whole Ordinary Adventures experience ❤🌺This makes me want to go back immediately 😭
We're going in June and your videos have been so helpful 💖 I had no idea it was going to cost over $700 for my family to go. I was thinking it would be about $80 per person like the Disney World Polynesian resort luau. I think we'll still go since it's a once in a lifetime experience, you looked like you had a lot of fun
We had a room on the Seventh floor that directly overlooked the Luau and we got to see different parts of it twice! Quite entertaining , although we more enjoyed the one at Polynesian cultural center (which was a bit cheaper…plus, it also came with the Theatrical show “Breath of Life” afterwards)
Can't wait to see the verdict! We got complimentary tickets to the Old Lahaina Luau on Maui recently and I was shocked at the ticket price, we couldn't have afforded it if my brother-in-law didn't work for the company.
You guys are making me want to go back so badly! We did take our little girls with us to see the luau last time. They were only 4 and a half and nearly 2 at the time. I'm pretty sure they both fell asleep! I remember my arm going numb holding the younger one. Now they are 5 and almost 8, and honestly, if we make it back within the next few years, I may just see if the kids club stays open late enough for us to drop them off during the luau! I think they'd get bored and squirmy at this age.
At first I thought "Hmmm, this isn't as good as the water park one" but after a bit it clicked with me and it was quintessentially Disney (though I would have preferred more character appearances!!)! Great video. I laughed at "It fell apart. I love you!"
Another great video! 🤩 my first food was poi! It’s for sure a love or hate thing. I’m half Hawaiian and I don’t like it. Maybe it’s because I ate too much of it as a kid 🤷♀️ Kitra’s description of it was exactly what I think every time i eat it. It definitely tastes like somethings gone bad. 🤣
Thank you so much for making this vlog. We were planning on taking a 4yr old and 3yr old to the Luau. But with your comment on seeing little kids bored and not a character luau. I think we will have the kids skip it. So thank you for pointing that out it’s not really for littles.
yeah, i think they would appreciate it more when they’re older bc it definitely focuses more on the appreciation of native hawaiian culture and not the disney aspect (which is a good thing imo)
We did this two years ago before the buffet was open due to C19. Pretty much the same show and at that time I would have said probably not worth it but now with everything back to running normal I would say that if you haven't done it, it is worth doing at least once. for us it was a one and done and I would love to experience other luaus on the island when we go back in September this year.
Thank you for this adventure. I would be just as excited to meet you as that worker. It did seem expensive but worth the price for the experience. 😍😍😍😍😍
Been to 3 luaus Oahu. Just went here last week. Plus: convenient if you stay there, yes most luaus cost roughly same, nice Hawaiian music before dinner, activities to do, open and unending bar. LOVED the prime rib. Pork also good. Minuses: really long story telling. It was a bit too much for me because I don’t like shows and the dancing was repetitious and I go mostly for food and drinks. Most food just ok. Fish overcooked. No imu pork, no crispy skin. Dry thin chicken thighs but good (salty) flavor. Overall: I would go because I’m staying there but otherwise no thanks.
@OrdinaryAdventures ah boo, we were hoping to secretly be in the background of one of your videos! Love the channel, you guys and Tim Tracker inspired us to start, all be it terribly, vlogging!
Will there be a Peter and Kitra Ukulele tour soon? Can play the hits of Ordinary Adventure Hawaiian style, Gizmo and Pixel songs, Number 14, Peter Fish (It’s basically Spider Pig sang to Peter Fish).
Different brands of poi can taste different. Most luau its watery and plain. Some people like myself like to add sugar. And my favorite brand is Hanalei Poi or try the poi from waiahole Poi Factory.
It was interesting hearing the Hawaiian story of Maui compared to the Maori Story's of him, A lot of correlations. Excellent review and so glad they kept it traditional without much Disney involved, definitely booking this on my vacation
Aulani in general very authentic to Hawaii and respects the culture

Next time, if you can't handle the poi by itself, its a local thing here in Hawaii to mix the lomi salmon with the poi. Game changer.
Will have to try that next time

love ur food reviews. i give this video 5 peters

Disney cast members are now allowed to have exposed tattoos. That changed a year or more ago
Hi! When did you go on your luau at Aulani? So it’s back to buffet for adults post covid? But bento for keikis?
We went in December 2022
You can do a luau if it’s outside . The meat looks good .
👍
Do i have to stay at the hotel to experience this or i can just pay and ho see it?
I’m not sure if you can see it without staying there. I’d say look at the Aulani website
Is the buffet all you can eat or do you only get to go through the line one time?
All you can eat
I can't tell the difference between the rock and peter now.
Haha 😆
I could NEVER eat Poi by itself.😝 Combined with other foods like pork with salsa it's pretty good!:😋
👍
Will there be a Peter and Kitra Ukulele tour soon? Can play the hits of Ordinary Adventure Hawaiian style, Gizmo and Pixel songs, Number 14, Peter Fish (It’s basically Spider Pig sang to Peter Fish).
Haha no time soon
Can you only go to the buffet once? Is that why your plates were so full?
No, it’s unlimited. I only put that much on there because I was showing it for the video and didn’t realize I had put so much
do you have to book ahead at time or can you book and pay over there?
I think both but it sells out quick so I’d book ahead
"So now basically me and the Rock are the same person." 😂
😂
When will peters Ukulele cd be coming out? 😄🌺🌴
😂
I went to aulani during covid I loved it bc it wasn’t packed…
I was worried it was going to be too packed this trip as there was little room availability but it wasn’t bad at all.
Was there no option for private seating? Did any of the luaus you went to have private seating? You mentioned chiefs?
I don’t think so
Chiefs did when we went but that was only due to the pandemic, I think it’s back to normal now

Is this open for people not staying at aulani?
Yes!
Liquid IV is good for Hangovers
Haven’t tried that 😂
I was supposed to go to Hawaii and to that hotel back in 2021 but Covid ruined my family trip there
Hopefully you get to go sometime in the future

It’s okay Kitra, I’m a born and raised Hawaiian and I still don’t care for poi unless it’s in a donut!
