this guy is one of the players of all time to put it mildly. who the hell builds a balanced team with no water switch in on either side firstly, and secondly that crit made 0 difference freeze still had two more sweepers again with no switch ins and a healing wish for good measure
There is space between "crit didn't matter, game was 100% over" and "crit flukewon a game that was completely lost". Freezai was definitely in the better position, but the crit definitely mattered as in it moved the game from advantaged to completely over. Totally agree that it seems silly to get upset about that kind of crit, you know what game you are playing, the only time a crit should annoy you that much is when you have a sweeper set up and getting crit by the one priority move that could stop it.
@@Gabriel64468it was 100% over already. there was nothing the opponent could have done after they tera'd avalugg, except hope for freezai to misplay and sweep with vivillion
Learn how to think in others' perspectives. Dude happened to go against a team that was strong against his. Plus the crit. Plus freezai swept him with no struggle. Plus it's World Cup. He's gonna be pretty mad.
No water switch wasn’t the problem with the team. Too many people sucscribe to freezai and Pokeaim and think they’re competitive experts. 1 water switch in isn’t enough to stop a hyperoffensive water team. And a rain dance team in NU isn’t common enough to prepare for. If you make one misplay against hyper offense your team crumbles like a house of cards
I mean i understand why he'd be mad, its not just the crit, though i think with your team and gameplan you shouldve won anyway even without having a free sac with bombirdier, no crit and the good roll !
Yeah his team just sucks against water types, dragon avalugg is not an answer to even the most basic special water attacker like Golduck since its special defense is so incredibly ass
@deeznoots6241 Honestly, his team looked like it gets run over by any nasty plot set but I don't touch NU, so I apologise for my ignorance, was he running anti-meta or something? I genuinely don't understand the point of his team. A defensive core with weak spdef alongside non super threatening offensive mons either apart from Viv? Defensive Tera Avalugg just to rely on sturdy anyway?? He just looked lost from team preview.
Avalugg teraed so it can switch into floatzel but as pointed out they don't have an out vs NP golduck unless the ursaring was spdef or something I have no idea. Also the opponent let the occasion get the better of them and didn't position well enough
4:18 whyd he say the surf wouldnt have killed? I dont get it. The Ursaring is 63% health, Surf is a strong move, its STAB with Golduck and theres a rain boost. Idk how it wouldnt have killed even without the crit. Can someone explain?
252+ SpA Life Orb Golduck Surf vs. 252 HP / 168+ SpD Eviolite Ursaring in Rain: 160-188 (41.6 - 48.9%) -- guaranteed 3HKO Idk the Ursaring spread for the one in the video, but this is the standard bulk ran on Ursaring in NU according to Showdown.
Hey Freezai, is there a way I can use these tool tips for percentage chance of movesets on mobile or does it just not work? Haven't been able to find the setting anywhere
@@ursaminor2732I took their comment as meaning that an NU player sees a lot of NU teams, and might be better than average at recognizing the strategy behind NU teams. I interpreted as asking how discreet the rain element of the team was, rather than the skill and intelligence of NU players.
Even if he didn't KO with Surf and died to Ursa, not much would change. Ursa would be at like 10, it would've either died to Floatzel or died later to rocks. The only thing that really changes is that Qwilfish would have swept instead of Floatzel, big woop. The Rock Blast miss also wasn't that important
Floatzel had usage in OU rain but that doesn't make it OU. You meed 4.52% usage for that and it came nowhere close, as rain is already not the most common
@MrArtless1 from what I know the problem is that below ou there is no more drizzle so you need to go far enough down for manual rain to be good enough. Hence if it isnt ou its all the way down in nu
As much as I understand the dude (getting unlucky on such a big stage), Pokemon IS a luck + strategy game. Strategy is more consistent, ofc, but pokemon withou luck is just plain and boring chess
