- Sigh...16 years ago, Alexa was born in one of the most difficult times of our lives. Nancy was 16, I had turned 17, we were undocumented, we didnt have jobs or any way to make money. We were scared of what we had in front of us. A little innocent girl that wanted to live and surprise us all. I don't know how we survived all these years. But here we are, 16 years later. Around this time, Nancy was getting ready to celebrate her birthday on the 2nd of December. That's when Alexa decided to arrive two weeks early, a day before Nancy's birthday 12/1/2004. We weren't able to grant our daughter a real sweet 16 or even a quinceañera. But after her birthday dinner, I asked Nancy "Lets dance with her in the living room. Let's dance with her and give her our own sweet 16 dance?" To you all it's just a simple dance. To us, 16 is the year we became teen parents to one of the coolest daughters out there. It was more than a dance. It was a dance of "Wow, look how far we got in life with barely anything" We love you sooo much dude. We hope you enjoyed your dance.
