Hi Dawn. Everyone is different! You are totally right. And maybe you respond to Retin-A differently. In the long-term clinical studies (6 months to 4 years), Retin-A was found to thin the upper dermis ON AVERAGE. We don't have the individual subject data so we don't know IF and HOW MANY subjects had a thickening of the dermis. But we can't exclude that. So keep using Retin-A the way you're using it if it works for you.

Real jowls -- caused by weakening and detachment of ligaments and muscles -- occur only when people are in their mid 70s or older. And even then, not everyone gets them. Stay tuned.

I'm ok with aging of the eyes-to a certain degree, of course. I did get rid of my early eyebags, and do all my treatments up to the eyes. But a few crow's feet or a bit of dark circles, not problematic.
What I can't stand are the jowls. I'd take wrinkles around the eyes over saggy pouches in the lower face.

Not sure if I will agree with not using Vit C ( mine is combined with Collagen) or Retinol under the eye area. I use my Vit C in the mornings and my retinol at nights. I've been using these for a while and my dark circles lightened up so much and my under eyes wrinkles look way better. Even my eyelids look better. So many compliments I've gotten. So I won't stop. I don't have puffy under eyes. But I do need a serum/cream for slightly sunken under eyes. I don't want that to get worse.

Proceed with caution though. It works great for my skin, but it might be better to listen to the dermatologist.

You guys are absolutely right about fat loss in the under eye area. But guess where it starts? You first lose the dermal fat cells. Yes, the skin has it's own dermal fat cells and they are damaged by sun exposure. Sun exposure? How do the UV rays reach the fat cells? They don't. The UV rays harm the epidermis, which in turn stops sending trophic signals down to the fat cells in the dermis. So what can you do about this? There's actually quite a bit.

Great video! So I guess no more Vitamin C E with Ferulic Acid under eyes? What about Resveratrol? Hylaronic Acid (HA5)? I only use medical grade (mostly all SkinMedica) and have for over 30 years but I'm 73 now. Girls, I need suggestions - what products under my eyes and what treatments? Sure its different for us mature women. I had my undereyes redone by a plastic surgeon in 1986 (before you were born:) and up until 5 years ago would get filler in under eye area but that's a no no now. I do have very very dry eyes! Specific suggestions so welcome. Right now I have been using Revision eye cream - used to use Skinmedica TNS Eye Cream. Of course I use my TNS Advanced Serum under my eyes. Just recently ran out of so many products and ready to repurchase. Also my doctor just told me I could use Retin A again again (autoimmune disease)
