huh he was, I didn't know or I forgot, he will be missed with his iconic voice and narration, got to see him as guest speaker at my university when speaking on literacy of course it was on tv as he had such a huge crowd and of course the community leaders and donators to the university got priority seating, and its not like he was signing autographs either but was still nice to see him live, I belive he had reading problems when very young so that is why he went so far after the spoken word and reading.
as for insulting the Holy Ghost or sins against or insulting the Mother of God, it is said God Will .....Not..... Be... Mocked for very long.
Have mercy on the Pope and us and pray for his conversion, we dont want anyone to go to hell, but the things being said and done by the high ranking clergy are no accedent when time and time again they do the same questionable themes and take every chance they can to treat traditionalists or historical laid to rest issues of the past like dirt, or they say we are ridged, clerical and lording over the faithful, but it is they that do the same thing, that is gas lighting and hippocracy, and worse more worried about the environment then saving souls, bending to socialists as though what they speak is God speaking and doing as they wish us to do, and participating in direct non christian worship.

If, as Pope Francis suggests, certain problems pose a challenge to the Holy Spirit, how does he expect mere mortals to resolve them? He needs to curb his flights of fancy and try authentic Catholic teaching. As someone already commented, nothing is impossible with God! Prayers that Pope Francis will see the light.

There is no shame in living by "subsistence farming". Fewer souls are lost to the evils of the modern world when they are working the land and growing their own food. Sin follows comfort, they go hand in hand. I'm sure many of these people could use better living conditions in general, but 'subsistence farming' is not the problem.

I was converted at the age of 10 by hearing a Latin mass. I went from Southern Baptist to Roman Catholic instantly in my heart. We must pray for the Pope’s conversion. Ave Maria!

I found a TLM at the lockdown, since a SSPX Chapel was the only place open for Mass attendance. I count the PLANdemic as a blessing for me, as I’d probably have never left our 40+ year NO parish. How wonderful, Debra! That is something I *completely* understand! I, too, was raised strict Southern Baptist. Our neighbors were Catholic (Mom hated that...and them. 😢) Long story, there, but I remember the day they suddenly quit wearing veils. I often spied on them through our living room curtains on Sunday mornings, hoping to catch a glimpse of their pretty veils. My heart nearly broke...and I had no idea why. The actions of Ann (mother of that Irish family) later, when I was about 10, were instrumental in my eventual conversion to the Catholic Faith. I was able to go thank her for the large part she had played in my conversion, before she passed. She explained the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary to me. 😊💕

“Linguistic diversity” is a divine punishment according to the holy scriptures. - Up until my parents’ generation, Latin was commonly taught in state schools in the US: it was my dad’s best subject in school.

My thought has been for quite a while now that they are so full of themselves, prideful in what they are accomplishing, that they are not thinking clearly and moving sooooo fast, that they are actually making mistakes in their “presentations” of whatever the next thing is on their lists of what to undo next. The first thing that seem to have been given to the apostles by the Holy Spirit is the gift of tongues so no chalenge there.
The only chalenge God has is our lack of belief and lack of cooperation. Notice how those problems all begin on our side of the fence. Maybe our dear pope can use that principle for his next speech.

The reason that the Mass was said in Latin in the first place is that Latin was the common language of the people of Rome. Yes, when the Mass was first said in Latin, that language was used because then it was the vernacular.
I believe Pentecost, the "Birthday of the Church,"attests to the reality that a diversity of cultures and languages is not a challenge for the Holy Spirit.

It’s like in court when the prosecution or defense makes a comment the other objects to it the judge sustains the objection tells the jury to disregard that comment WELL ya know that was strategic they planted a seed in the minds of the jury. Francis does the same thing with his comments. What he says does not become papal but he’s leading people astray while he destroys Church teachings!! Lord have mercy on him and us!

Reminds me of what someone said in St. Peter's Square a couple of days before John Paul II died, one of the great crowd who camped out to honor him: "We are praying for a miracle, but a miracle would be pretty hard now." Well, a miracle by definition is impossible, not just "pretty hard." But obviously nothing is hard for God.

I had to stop ruminating on the things I hear about the Pope. I pray for him daily and beg God to pour out oceans of Mercy on him. How we need Holy, Godly men to lead us in the Church and in the government.

I am serving in Papua New Guinea. There are 800 languages here! In one of his talks the pope did call for unity raising the Biblical image of the Tower of Babel where linguistic diversity seemed to be the consequence of human pride.
Keep focusing on Who the Holy Spirit is. May we all continue to grow in the knowledge.
Hello Anthony . I haven’t watched all the mass he has officiated but I have notice he hasn’t spoken of conversion to God. I’m not surprised at anything the Pope says. He seems to be going down the wrong path. He is the representation of our Lord Jesus Christ and I’m not hearing it from him. I will pray he doesn’t lead people astray

Sonia, remember Bergolio has renounced the title Vicar of Christ and has told the world we as Catholics should not proselytize. That in itself, goes against the Mission Christ gave the apostles, “Go and teach all nations.”.

Francis' Heresy of the Day doesn't surprise me at all. Self-centered platitudes for mankind and dismissiveness towards God have always been his focus, reminiscent of a certain fallen angel. I'll say it again, this is the diabolical result of Vatican 2. It wasn't just a few heretical-leaning words on a page. It was an historic victory for the demonic, however short-lived it will be on the scale of all time. What we see here, as chaotic as it may be, is nothing compared to the battle that now rages between the angels and demons because of that abdication of authority.
Perhaps the greater delect is the contradiction of the fourth theological virtue, tolerance of diversity. Cultural diversity is a challenge to the Holy Spirit? I thought diversity was the greatest cultural attribute ever.
I hear it all the time in a federal work environment as the source of our strength. I suspect a speech writer will have to be finding another job.
Isn’t the comment regarding the Holy Spirit similar to the homily entitled “The woman who taught Jesus a lesson “? I can imagine someone who truly believes in God, can make such a comment.

What killed me is when the pope was talking to little orphan boys in Indonesia, telling them to take risks and choose to love people. These are boys who had probably never been loved. It seemed so cold. This man with bodyguards, the support of the whole world trying to teach boys to martyr themselves. The messages are often OK like you said, but they are also misdirected, not proportional, and casually arrogant. It doesn't surprise me how he misconceives the holy spirit
Latin is still the language of the Church. Not only does this span the world, it favours no individual language and it also raises the spirit above the 'worldly' things outside.
I keep praying for Pope Francis to become less Protestant. So far my prayers have been wildly ignored it seems. Does anyone have a suggestion about what i've been doing wrong?

I am Protestant, and I can assure you that there are tens of not hundreds of millions of protestants around the world who have a better grasp of basic Christology and the Trinity in the Nicene and Athanasian creeds that your pope does.

Have the Baltimore Book of Prayers. It explains very well how to participate in the Latin Mass. All you need is a prayer book and some effort. Missals always had translations.

Considering most of the population live at very high altitude in impenetrable jungle of course they don't have electricity, or roads.
The challenge is the same as the nine day novena made by the Apostles under the guidance of the Blessed Virgin after the Ascension and in preparation for Pentecost, the descent of the Holy Spirit. When we don't make the effort to prepare for the Holy Spirit why would we be surprised that there is no effect?
God created the universe. There was no challenge there.
A careful reading of Genesis 11 is in order for all. The sin of pride is the culprit in this case just as it was in Genesis 3 with Eve wanting to "Be as God" the creator, (chapter 3, verse 5) and thus the Original sin. Sin, since God gave us a free will is our, and the devil's challenge to the Holy Spirit. The devil told God, Non Servium (I will not serve,) and has tried ever since to get us humans to be his echo.
Will we allow ourselves to be saved? The devil wouldn't let himself be saved, he uses us, to get revenge on God! Diversity of language is not the challenge, we are!
