The poached fish looked so good you had me salivating. I have done this same thing with red salmon on the copper river in Alaska. It's one of my favorite ways to cook fish. It makes a big difference in the flavor when the fish was swimming minutes before.
Beautiful stream and fishing. Fresh trout cooked at stream side is amount my most cherished memories with my father so long ago. just needed some rice or bread to soak up the sauce. Thank you!
@@nintendude1988 the species are actually surprisingly similar. Especially for me since I’m in California. Maybe it’s a bit less varied in OR, But just like in the US pacific, they have their trouts, salmon, several species of rockfish, even Sheephead and Yellowtail.. yea they’re not the same exact species but very similar to here.
Hey man, I found your videos recently! Your lifestyle is so inspiring! Thank you for sharing your country’s beauty with the whole world!!! I hope depopulated areas of Japan can experience more economic benefit in a sustainable and positive way :)
So beautiful there! Just ice and snow here in Alaska already! We had heavy snow in October this year... too early. I've noticed more parasites in my fish too. Especially the salmon, I wonder if we are seeing a new phenomenon?
Beautiful fishing and cooking/eating spot. Pristine and tranquil. The last scene on your video reminds me why I don't eat my fresh water catches and spend more time fishing and eating the ones from saltwater. Both can have parasites, just far fewer in salt. Very Western prep except for the enoki mushrooms, I know Matt from Fisherman's Life would approve the use of all the butter.
@@KakaponSupopon But not raw FRESHWATER? I love sashimi but can't think of any freshwater fish served raw, unagi (freshwater eel) is cooked here in the States. Maybe after a long deep freeze it would be safe. I know there are brain eating parasites in some snails, so, definitely don't eat those raw.

The red spotted trout was tremendous! I’ve never seen that fish before
Yeah, but still I take a risk of parasite to eat raw fish. It's just japanese thing maybe.
I absolutely love these videos!!! So much different than fishing in Oregon, USA where I live :D
Actually a lot of the fishing opportunities in Japan are pretty similar to that of the NW
@@avi_s0ncin0 it's all water, sure. But the species are vastly different

as an American trout angler, beautiful preparation for those trout. 10/10
Glad you enjoyed it

thats a beautiful clear stream, make me want to fly fishing there!
I have never done fly fishing..
That's real life😍😍😍 a couple of trouts cooked on the spot in the wilderness
I absolutely love catch and cook series like this, do it more often 👍
The addition of the vegetables is something I never tried👍 I always enjoy your catch and cook videos🤤
Thanks a lot!
Fish en papillote (french) is my favourite way to cook fish. The best part is the juices, perfect for soaking up with toast or bread!
Ugh, I forgot to bring some bread...
Did not expect that!
Keep up the great work man. Never stop fishing!
Thanks! Will do!

Great catch, and your meal looked soo tasty, have an amazing weekend.
Thanks!
I don’t know why but every fishing spot in Japan looks like an awesome fishing spot.
because I only upload the video when I caught enough

@@KakaponSupopon no restrictions here! Not even masks on planes.

beautiful river
Im bout to head out in an hour and see if I catch me some trout. Do u think you will ever travel outside of japan?
I will definitely do. I didn't do it for a while because of covid
amazing video!!

I always Love your fishing videos, if you don't mind me asking are all the fish you eat at home you catch?
Most of time, yes, but this time, I happened to find a big flat rock in the middle of river, I cooked on site
Very nice location . Watching it from Toronto
Thanks for watching from Toronto!
How do I buy this bbq kit? Tks
Hmm.. amazon?

that rod looks a lot bigger than a tenkara rod. what kind is it?
that is a regular mountain stream fishing rod and that is 5.3m

Is that some kind of metaphor ? That is from grocery store. I tried to grow it in my garden and failed...

Nowadays, it hard to find fish without parasites. Just make sure to cook it thoroughly and especially fresh water fish when consuming.
