  • These are the Kaplhenke racing coilovers with adjustable strut mounts and koni yellow shocks. For springs I went with the 300lb 10" eibach springs in the front and 200lb 9.5" eibach springs in the rear. Later I swapped the front springs for 300lb 8" springs as there was not enough room with my wheel offset to lower the spring enough to get the ride height I desired.
    All parts can be found here: www.kaplhenke.com/

    It's an awesome car you got mate! It's so fun to see people actually caring and making love to these cars. Here in Sweden very many are driving the sh*t out of the Volvos. Keep up your good work! Greetings from Sweden! :D

    hello, how did this improve the Volvo? Better ride? Improved performance? Handling?

    Do these coil overs take oem style inserts for the shock? Bought a car with these coil overs on it.

    Anything happing with you Volvo? Seems like you have been preoccupied with modifying the ST. Hopefully you don't give up on the Volvo. If nothing else, you could probably find a used turbo easy. Same thing happened to my 745 and I picked one up at the pick a part for $35. Worked out great.

      I have to drive almost 100 miles a day for work so I got the focus to be a reliable fun daily. I just don't have the time to work on the Volvo or even drive it. For now i'm just parking out some of the bits but will probably end up selling the car also. Someday I plan to get a nice 242 or 940 and build it up like I wanted to, just right now isn't the time for it.

      ***** very sad to hear :( i get how things go though. I just was very impressed with your build and the direction it was going. You've got a lot into the car to give up on it. 242 are nice. I have a 77 242 flathood with 4 panel tails. LOVE that car.

    Hey Tyler! Did you order the "Front + Core & Rear" set? Because with normal coilovers you have to weld them into the spindle on these cars, but you just swaped the whole strut out with the spindle and everything, so you don't have to weld anything if you choose the Core option? You just swap out the old strut for the new coilovers? Hope you understand what I am trying to ask lol

    • @Tyl3rKrupa
      @Tyl3rKrupa  8 років тому +2

      As this was a daily at the time I ordered it with the cores then sent my old spindles back to Ben. He did a great job with the welding and painting though he claims he slaps some on there quick for rust prevention. Also had the lux steer package thrown on so I could run the adjustable tops

      @Kevvedajsel 8 років тому +1

      Oh okay, thanks man! I'll have to look into that and get some for my next 940, I just don't want to have to weld anything. I live in Sweden so sending mines back would probably cost more than what I get lol

    • @Tyl3rKrupa
      @Tyl3rKrupa  8 років тому +1

      Yeah that shipping would be a bit. For me he only lives a few states away so it wasn't an issue. As for welding I figured he designed these so he would probably be the best to get them welded though for how far your order would ship it might be a lot cheaper to get the parts and have someone by you weld it up.

    • @Kevvedajsel
      @Kevvedajsel 8 років тому +1

      Yea didn't think about that,but yea as you said since he designed them he has more insight on welding them etc than a normal welder (I'd guess anyway). I don't know what I'll do yet we'll see.

    that looks like a 740 from 1990 at the front. try to find a 960 front and put on, then it would look extremly badass
