This was EXTREMELY helpful in my beginners journey in WCS and explained so well! It also made me feel normal with these mistakes as a newbie. Thank you
The comments about heaviness at the end of the slot but not when moving was interesting to me. I’ve danced with some follows who are so heavy there it’s actually quite tiring (maybe it’s just the sitting there during class lol), whereas the champion level follow I’ve danced with isn’t like that at all. Is this just a follow preference thing or is there some advantage to having so much weight at the end of the connection like you said y’all use?
To a certain extent, yes it is a preference. When you feel the heaviness moving away from you, however much they decide to go away is there preference. I myself am pretty heavily connected away. But some followers are heavy because they connect down toward the ground instead of away from their partner. This is probably what is making you tired. We have a tendency in lessons, to let our arm go down to the ground and the follower looks at us funny, we say that is where you were taking my arm. Then we explain connection should be away and not down. It can be very strenuous on the shoulder join to hold the followers arm up the whole dance. But if its just one dance occasionally its not so bad.
Oh my! I can see you will hit all the high points🙌🏽
Isn't it fun?!
I must make the same mistakes and UA-cam must know it😹because this video popped up again! Love you guys🙌🏽

Thank you!
WCS is almost like a choreographed typed of dance.
It definitely can feel that way when you have a great dance.
