Thank you both so much for the report from your current port.
Keep us posted please Dani, as you are our link to bright days elsewhere.
Home bound in Humboldt and well.

Trying times for sure. I pray that you and all other cruisers can avoid any of the problems that are affecting the land locked populations, and that those stuck in the hurricane belt have a benign season. I currently follow 28 cruisers and feel for each and every one. My area of Alberta is still free but the virus is all around, just not close as yet. Take care and stay safe.

Thanks K&H. It has certainly been a bit of an interesting plot twist to our trip home. Still don’t really know if we’re coming home this year or next but we have everything we need for right now so that’s all the matters. Hope you guys are doing ok back home xx

Take care out there, I have been to Curacao and think you are trapped at the moment it a pretty good place. I have a feeling you will probably get visa extensions due to what is going on. Go and check out the Radial engine outside a bar on the other side of the Island. All the best from a Kiwi in Tasmania.

It's pretty easy to get visa extensions in most countries today. IO does understand the situation.

Why didn’t you go to Aruba instead of Curaçao? Just curious! Also, how do you get food while out there?
    Love you guys!

Good question. For 2 main reasons. Firstly we knew there was a really safe anchorage in Curaçao called Spaanse water where we could wait out the hurricane season and secondly it was recommended to us over Aruba by some sailing friends.

See if you can get a visa extension. Sailors are having issues getting into countries even with borders open. Once you leave. Your on your own. Possibly without the ability to enter any country.

I second that. Many countries are extending visas like never b4 due to corona virus.
If it's a good and safe anchorage, than better to stay put and extend visas as time and pandemic goes on.

Interesting situation. For us landlubbers it would be a dream to escape to the oceans and avoid this, but clearly that is not the case and your situation is no better than ours. Hope you weather this well.

Stuart Simmons it’s definitely not the worst place in the world to be right now so it doesn’t feel right to complain but I guess it shows this whole saga can be frustrating for everyone!

Hi guys...once things open up you can head down to Columbia. I would skip Aruba, not a cruiser friendly place. Columbia is fantastic. Spend some time there...its a fascinating country. Cartagena is a good Anchorage and full of history. Go before the xmas winds kick in as it's a notorious passage. From there it's an easy passage to san blas. You can cruise Colombia and the San Blas and Panama during hurricane season - just watch out for lightening. More info on Colombia etc. my blog at www.lamischief.com. Enjoy curacao...not a bad place to hang out for a while

That’s so great! We’re really hoping we can do the Pacific next season so we can do it properly but we will just have to wait and see how the next little while pans out. Thanks for reaching out. Hope things are going ok back at home!

Typical, you say you be ok, but what about all the people you pass it to if you get it, they may not be as strong as you, but I guess that's ok,,
This did get to this because people travelled when there was a issue, BOOM
