- We finish assembly of the primary loop and zones for our radiant heat system. We pressure test the open system at 80 PSI and fix leaks in threaded connections. We also start the control system by installing thermostats and slab sensors.

A plumber taught me to use TruBlu (by Rectorseal) on top of the teflon tape for threaded connections. Seems to work.
Yeah. The manufacturer of this fitting recommends combining tape and dope. In this case, I don’t believe I used enough tape. Redoing it with more tape (plus dope on top) fixed the slow leak. Stainless fittings seem tough, because the metal doesn’t flex to form a seal. More tape and dope needed? Or so it seems.
Maybe you should forward the build playlist to the inspector...not sure after watching it how he could have any issues 😀 The zone controller board looks awesome, great job!
Indeed. He’s a good inspector overall, and he’s gone out of his way to support us. Disagreements do happen, and inspectors can’t know everything. As long as cooler heads continue to prevail, we should be fine. :)
Is this all part of the warmboard setup? I've been considering the warmboard stuff but they don't seem very forthcoming on what all needs to happen outside of their boiler, controllers, and panels.
It is. Look at vid 65 and 66 in this series. That’s where we install and route the Warmboard.
Edit for clarification: We only bought the subfloor from Warmboard. The rest we’re building out ourselves.

Yah. And that’s actually recommended by Central Boiler, although not required by MI code. We didn’t install one though, and we’ve had no drain-back whatsoever. We’re on our second heating season now, and things are running perfectly.
