  • I bought a used 5 watt Atomstack diode laser off Market Place for $200, also bought a $60 rotary for the tumblers and running it all with Lightburn Software. The used Engraver was already assembled , the rotary needed put together and Lightburn needed configured ion the old HP Laptop. Very easy to set up and configure, I was engraving in about an hour start to finish. So I'm looking to get into getting a bigger C02 laser to make things faster and more efficient.

If you're thinking of expanding to more laser products go with at least 60w for speed higher wattage faster cutting or engraving it will save you a ton of time. I have a modified 60w CO2 china laser machine that fits 12x19 pieces of birch ply that I cut for custom car pieces I upholster over. I use Corel to design and send the files to rdworks similar to lightobjects with a Corel plugin to convert the vector file to the laser machine-compatible format.

Very cool. I run a 100w CO2 using lightburn I purchased back in 2019 and I love it.

100w sounds like a lot of laser. Not sure if I need that much power but will be getting something bigger than the dinky 5w.

sublimation is cheap way to do awards. you use an epson printer with the refilable ink. put sublimation ink in it. let me know and I can tell you what you need. look it up on youtube. Also I sold my 100w laser and got a 50w I keep kicking myself in the ass for doing that. You don't need a lot of money. Plus I got a fiber laser for engraving metals.

We did dye sub a LONG time ago with the old converted EPSON. That did not pan out, I knew nothing about color correction and never got it figured out that was my biggest hurdle. Might have to take another look at dye sub, and also a 50/60 CO2. Thanks for the suggestion!
