Awesome, hope you all have a great trip! The village is in much better shape now than in this video as well, so even more options and better service. I just visited again a few weeks back!
well Im heading out there with my girl to stay the Labor Day Weekend and spend as much as i can to help the ecomony cuz after the fire and flood im sure it was hard punch to Ruidoso and i love it there any way so for me its a win win, stay strong Ruidoso!!
I know people are nervous with all the flooding, but almost everything we love is still running in the village! They totally rely on our tourist money to keep things running so I know they’ll be happy to welcome y’all 🍻
It definitely has a special place in our hearts- my brother and sister are Ruidoso Warriors and that was our home for many years. Now we still have family up there but it is our favorite vacation spot in NM!
@@adventuresena64 you asked why some houses survive its construction methods adobe houses with metal roods survive more because less areas to catch fire on
@dertasdert2419 wow that’s interesting- incredible how ancient technology actually stands up better to nature! I did notice I think most of the surviving homes surrounding by fire signs did have metal roofs
All 3 of my children went to high school at the "Tacoma School of the Arts" in Tacoma and the Dale Chihuly Museum of Glass hosted one of the classes of that high school. I daily saw his art when driving on Highway 7 as there is a bridge across it in downtown Tacoma with his art on over the bridge (it's a pedestrian bridge) with his artwork enclosed in glass while you cross the highway and railroad. I've been in that museum several times. And yes, a lot of businesses and hospitals in the PNW display his artwork as well.
It’s wild how global his art is- I’ve also seen a huge chandelier teardrop in San Antonio at a hotel on the river walk- the museum in Seattle is very nice! I have a video on that- but I really need to check out that bridge and museums in Tacoma soon, thanks for mentioning those 🏔️🤩
Appreciate it- that’s all my older bro Matthew, he’s a tequila man all the way! Thanks for the feedback, trying something new is bound to make opinions one way or the other, I’m still learning style and technique!
Tim gotta hike to Lake Katherine NM. Highest Alpine lake in NM. Me an some boddies tried to back bout a month agogot 3/4 of the way there, but flood washed trail out so we turned back due to time crunch
The main risk through early October is that it is monsoon season. Because of burn scars, certain areas can flood for a few hours at a time, but emergency alerts do a good job of getting you info early! I’d say if you pay attention to weather alerts you can do everything you’d usually do in Ruidoso right now and be safe!
@cocoxtina8366 thank you, I only started learning to fly it this year, but hope to have a lot more drone shots in the future! Hope you all have a fun and safe trip whenever you do go up the mountain 🏔️
Thanks for the feedback- I'm actually still learning, a self-taught amateur. This is my first attempt at more documentary-style editing, and really my first time adding ambient sound that isn't music. I'll try to keep improving, appreciate you taking the time to watch!
I really appreciate that- I was definitely going for "overly dramatic" there and it doesn't always work- other feedback has helped me to work on balancing audio better so I do appreciate it, and I'm always grateful you took the time to watch and comment. Please, keep it coming if you have feedback on any other vids!
Planning our trip for March. Thanks

Omg! Spend one night in Ruidoso last week! Didn’t know the wildfires were so severe!😢 love the town btw
Thank goodness the fire stopped just as it approached the core areas- but yes the devastation in some areas is heart breaking
Cool video, y'all have good taste in tequila, the fire sound was authentic not in bad taste just reality, keep up the positive vibes 🏜

Might have to scope it out for a future vid, thanks bro!
So is it safe to go visit now? Thinking of visiting again🤔

"Monsoon" only
"Monsoon Season" is a redundant term
Thanks for the video!
Hidden gem
Ruidoso was way better back in the seventies! When the rivers ran and everyone knew where to build and where not to...
It’s genuinely scary to know how many homes not just here but all over the country are built in known natural danger zones!
Uumm, Everything was better in the 70s
My mom would totally agree, that’s when she was made! lol but seriously the 50’s and 70’s style and living seemed amazing
"What should i place on my newly acquired land"
Adding the fire sound effects was tacky .
