I’m 57 and I’m grateful that I have still have my mom and my dad in spite of our difficulties and issues that have come because of my dad’s abuse. I have learned that it could have been worse. I used to be mad at my mom because she never left my dad. I went to counseling and therapy and I have talked to a lot of men. Boys need their dads and girls need their mothers. Me and mom talked after many years later and agreed that life would have been worse without my dad. I’m the oldest of 10 7 brothers and 2 sisters. I have been in therapy since I was 20 , I’m 57 today. My parents have been divorced for 20 years and we have all managed to keep a decent relationship with each other. My parents are getting older. My mom is 76 and my dad is 79. And I truly am blessed to still have them. Even though we have our differences I just try to talk to them. My mom gets it but my dad doesn’t. And that’s okay. Not everyone gets it. At least I still have him and we all still love each other.

This version is pleasant enough but a little slowed down for my taste, though Ricky Luchesse's trumpet solo at 5:07 gives it just the spice it needs to register on my Richter scale! There are at least eleven different covers on this song by bands of different backgrounds and I am glad to finally see the song getting the recognition it deserves, from all quarters!
