Abstract: The presentation will show an investigation of the continuous annealing/galvanizing cycles of cold-rolled sheets of a selected dual-phase (DP) steel. The characterization of the effect of heat-treatment parameters on the mechanical properties and structure will be presented. Simulations of heat-treatment in a Gleeble 3800 will be demonstrated with the application of different parameters which fall into two categories. The first category embraces annealing over a two-phase temperature range followed by water cooling, and the second is the same but succeeded by tempering. Furthermore, two kinds of samples will be depicted, one with the standard 2” and the second with a modified shape.
