Stance width is rarely discussed in the world of hitting...
...yet it is vitally important to understand the advantages and disadvantages to how wide the stance is...
In today's lesson, we are going over how the width of your stance promotes the way you get the bat to the ball.
The number 1 thing to always remember is the width of the stance does not mean it will cause you to swing good or bad...
...but your stance width will heavily promote or inhibit efficient mechanics.

I prefer a wider stance because with a shorter stance, you might get more power but there will be too much movement and you will most likely be inconsistent. Watch Juan Soto, Rendon, pujols, etc.. it’s all personal preference though

Agreed. This video makes it look more like a golf swing whereas you do not really see too many big hitters do that....they usually spin

Most kids lunge. Narrow stance promotes lunging. Don't care about stance, but wide stance tee work makes kids feel how to use the ground for power. If you add in good posture "butt out, chest over plate" they won't spin.
