One of the most incorrectly taught pieces of the swing is the transition…
...also known as Bat Lag.
Why bat lag is so misunderstood is because it is taught as swing mechanic versus a bi-product of correct mechanics.
Everybody is trying to make Bat Lag happen…
… when we should work on understanding what creates bat lag.
In today’s video we tell you exactly what creates bat lag…
...and give you two great drills to start applying the perfect transition in your swing today!
Thanks for watching and I hope to help you much more with your game in the future!

Very insightful. Never thought that lagging is a simple result of changing direction.
Can you start in the lag position?? Then load and fire from there ?
Haha shots fired at Antonelli baseball
Isn’t he casting his hands this way ? He’s too far away from his body and not staying inside
Your a genius Sir.
Your lagging in good advice causing kids to hit on their follow through. Totally skipping contact position. Majoring on the minors on getting to contact and staying through contact.
Should you be able to feel the lag? Awesome video😉😎
First
Man, talk about an arm swing…
That's because he is teaching a nuance that you develop and add on to. This is a foundational concept to build on.
@@jacobr4558 poor sequence is NEVER anything but bad nuance… The keyword is foundation, and the foundation of a swing is the lower half
Yeah! Try having a PERFECT FOUNDATION(lower body leverage, max loading and unloading of the lower half) without a hand/arm RELEASE! It's a combination of skills and hand/arm skills are just as vital. He is teaching an aspect of the swing that is a skill.
Learning to use your lower half can help you increase lag and leverage but without hand an arm skills it's wasted. Yet on the other end of that if you had perfect hand and arm skills with no lower body you would always lack power but could be a decent hitter. Obviously both are ideal.
My point is solving the lower body doesn't solve the upper body. However solving the upper body can teach you how to maximize its use.
Barrel is the heaviest part of the bat, use it to your advantage and turn the barrel to keep your barrel in the zone for longer, quit teaching this nonsense
