And the Chinese characters on Sub's costume (冰龍的） doesn't totally make sense as it basically translates to "ice dragon's". Would make more sense if it was without "的“ which is basically the 's.

He's just a side character, got killed in MK3, and then revive in MK4, and then got killed again in MKDA, return back in MKD as Onaga's puppet and then ultimately die again in Armageddon. Dude is basically Yamcha in MK universe during that era. Thanks to the new timeline that started in MK9 they finally established him as one of the main character, give some heroic plot to him and also a personality.
Kitana's war fans are steel-ribbed. It's not just the tips. She can use the blades to cut and the fan itself to block and deflect blows. Kung Lao's gauntlets have metal covering his palms so he can handle his hat.
Real iron fans were emergency weapons meant to be used folded even if they could unfold, the idea of the fighting style was you were meant to used it as a club after parrying an attack. I think it's cool anyway though, but it's definitely one of those things that were meant to be elegant rather than effective.
From the PS2 MK intros, and then the MAJOR step ups with MKX and MK11, they've nailed it. (If you think these outfits are wild, all the outfits prior to MK9 make the ladies look like chastized nuns lol.)

KI still has sexy characters and skins, but in a context that makes sense (like Sadira wearing a thong because her playstyle is all about aerial rushdown and flippy shit which means as much freedom of movement as possible)

I've heard that revealing clothing can actually give fighters an advantage in a fight. Arousal can actually slow someone's reaction time by a couple of milliseconds, but that can definitely be a huge advantage if the person doing the arousing is able to attack quickly. From what I've heard, it's one of the reasons why there's so many revealing costumes in Dead or Alive games. Allegedly. In conclusion: show some skin to get the win. Love watching you two react to stuff like this. You both know what you're talking about, and just bring so much energy to it. Hopefully we keep seeing you guys in these videos. i know the outfit for kitana in mk9 was terrible
They pretty much only kept Sindel's cleavage outfit because it fits her character. Almost all her fight intro dialog with other characters are horny.
